For those who do not have Coordinates, the location is on the north side of the big "red glowing bug thing" you'll find a green circle. The "red glowing bug thing" is due west of the Temple of Telhamat

Clear the area of the 63 elite Colossi first,so you don't have any unwanted adds.

Plant the seed in the summoning circle, and go take a piss because it's a 40 second summon... so make your grilled cheese sandwiches and get back to your computer for the boss.

I took him down at level 61 as a Warlock with the help of a 62 shadow priest. Fairly easy fight.

At 50% HP he will spawn three minions that attack whoever has aggro. Take the boss down first so you finish your quest and poof done.

Turn it in at the Cenarion outpost and be prepared to fight one more Colossi that is summoned there for your next quest.

Completely soloable as a hunter, of any gear. Mana potions will help, as will a faster speed bow. Start the encounter with AotP/AotC, tap him once or twice with with auto/arcane then make a beeline for the road. Have your pet on him so he won't de-aggro.

Once you're on the road, use the standard jump/shoot or if you have a fast bow, you can turn around and snap off a shot, then start running again. It'll take a little while, but it's not hard and it's more boring than challenging.

If you can navigate your way around the other wandering mobs, he is kitable using Cheeta as a hunter. Not easy, but if you can do the Rhok kites, you can do this easily.

Done as lvl 70 hunter, who skipped HP because it was too crowded at release, and now needs the rep =P

Soloed this as a 61 affliction lock.

Pulled out my void and he tanked it till about 80%, then I pulled aggro, so I turned and ran towards the Temple of Telhamat.

Immune to curse of exhaustion and fear, he ran faster than me, but kept knocking me forward further and further so could never actually kill me. I just kept him dotted, turned around and wanded every now and then so he didnt de-aggro and it was quite easy. :)

Easily soloed as a poorly equipped feral druid (think 30% healing gear...). I tanked him right next to the crystal to avoid adds and just bashed when I needed to heal.

I was having trouble completing this quest as a 62 Aff/destro Warlock. I kept attracting the attention of surrounding giants. I had begun offering 20g to anyone level 63+ to come help me via General, but no one seemed interested. Finally, I gave it one more try. Soulstoned, with a healthstone, and using an imp (was shardless after SS'ing myself), I managed to summon without aggro. And as soon as the boss appeared, two 70 Alliance, a dwarf and a night elf, appeared and began helping me. Thanks to them it took only about 30 seconds to take down the boss.

Soloed this as a 63 BM hunter. Clear Mobs one by one and then take a mana break and wait for cooldown to finish. Summon Goiliath and let your pet tank, make sure always your pet has Mend Pet and place an ice trap in front of you hold off one of the Shardlings. Use Rapid Fire, Bestial Wrath and if you have Bladefists breadth that too and nuke him down. If you want to get rid of the shardlings either kill them yourself or Feign Death let you pet die and wait for them to disappear.
P.S : Make sure your pet is always happy and proud for max DPS (did this with a cat with 124 dps and 1.28s Attack speed when on frenzy)

Note that it's no longer possible (as of 2.0.10) to kite Goliathon to the guards. In fact, it's not possible to pull him more than a few dozen yards away from the stone without him evading.

On the plus side, he's level 63 now, not level 64.

Soloed as a Level 61 Gnome Rogue. I used Cheapshot...then when i had 3 combo points hit him with a Kidney shot...then right b4 it ended i jumped into the pit. Then when he ran after me i hit him with 2 SS then used SnD comboed with a Blade Flurry for 50% attack speed. Then I just kept hitting him with SS and kidney shotting when i was at 5 pts if that failed id hit him with Evicerate. When he summoned his Adds I popped Adrenaline Rush comboed with Evasion. Then the next time he flew me 15 feet i healed myself with a bandage till he hit me again...by that time he was almost dead :) Don't try this without at least 6k hp and 400agi thats what i got. No need to kill the guys around him if you jump into the pit b4 they walk around...hope this helps 4 rogues.

Solo'd this as a 63 Feral Druid. 7686 Health in Bear Form.

Start in bear form, if you can time your HoTs so you can get them on beforehand, do so, but otherwise get in Bear as soon as possible. When the event starts pull the colossal into the hole with you and place your back against the big red crystal. Keep Demoralizing Roar up at all times, and of course Faerie Fire(Feral) makes this easier as well. Keep your Charm of Alacrity on cooldown.

When you are just fighting the colossal, just keep Mauling, using Mangle when it's up.

When he summons his friends, use Demoralizing Roar and just keep Swiping repeatedly. This gives you the bonus Rage from critting on more than one mob, as well as gives you more chances to crit to proc your Improved Leader of the Pack.

When you are first down to about half health, pop your Enrage+Frenzied Regen and just auto-hit for it's duration. When he starts knocking your health down other times, you're going to have to carefully time your Bashes, pop out, Barkskin and heal up as fast as possible. If he becomes unstunned his knockback will interrupt your casting.

I killed him with 90 health left, and died to his leftover minions. However, it was my first attempt doing it, went a little messier than I had planned. If I could do it again I imagine I'd live all the way through it.

Now this was hard. My warlock used the hole tactic agaisnt it, Felguard was tanking at the start but i quickly pulled aggro for some reason. So around the crystals we ran (at the hole), few times Goliath managed to knockback me around and i even pulled an add briefly which went away.. thank god.

FG got splattered near 10% . Fel Domination + New FG. instant intercept basically saved my arse, somehow it caught enough aggro so i was able to reapply my dots. As far as the shardlings go, i'm not sure what happened with the 2nd one but 1st & 3rd were killed as they spawned.

Stuff used: 10 Soul Shards, 3 potions, 2 health stones, 3 deaths, 2 despawns, 1 Soul Stone :P.

I did this with a rogue and a paladin, that is, I was horde, they were alliance. Still it worked, we had no problem, as the rogue was tanking, the paladin healing and dpsing a bit and I was nuking :D

Soloable as a 62 Holy paladin. Adds are summoned every 25% so if you stun, or otherwise CC about 2% before he summons and fire off a quick round of burst damage the shardlings never even spawn.

The path to get to the circle is so annoying,me (61 hunter) was difficult to get to the circle cos of all the 63 elite mobs.So i had to aggro on my mount then when i got my back to the big red crystal they all came so i fiegned death they all went away,then i killed about 2-3 mobs then summoned the boss he was bit easy but make sure u have your back to the red crystal he kicks u a long way but i won with 3400hp left (i have 5k hp) but my pet died cos adds came.I would suggest 2 more players to do this

Just finished this earlier to today with myself (61 Balance Spec) and a Mage (60 something Frost Mage).

*You get this quest from a crimson shard that drops from one of the regular 63(?) elite giants*

Firstly clear you'r way to the Summoning Circle at 13,39, its fairly easy to spot( A green pattern on the ground)
Be sure to clear the enemies around here as the enemy you fight likes to push you back into the air and it can cause other giants to attack you which makes the situation a little more.. difficult.

Anyway, use the seed you are given at the green circle, this casting process takes a while as some hologram guy (Pathaleon) pops up and starts blabbin' away. After he's finished the fight begins!

The giant you fight is a 64 elite and he appears to your right, if you'r facing the big red crystal in the centre, so be ready!
He seems immune to Entangling Roots and Frost Nova, so what worked for us was to position our selves on either side of him and keep him running back and forth as one of us pulled him. He will break down into smaller versions of himself as he loses health so you might want to root these and finish them off after you defeat the main opponent which is what worked fine for us.

*You may want to try pulling him down into the depression around the crystal itself to prevent the knockbacks however this does limit you in your mobility, probably worth a shot if you've got someone to tank him.* ~ Edit

Here's a new twist. Since they made the change and he starts evading after a certain distance, it's possible that you will have to fight 2 of them. I started the fight, was knocked back out of his range, he evaded and disappeared so I had to restart the seed. When he appeared for the second attempt, the first came back so I had to fight both lvl 63 elite's. Watch the range is all I can say.

Soloed this with a 62 Prot Paladin with roughly 7.5k health and 8.2k armor. Holy shield, Blessing of Kings, judgement/seal of Light on him at all times and Hammer of Justice at 25/50/75% to stop him from dropping adds.

Seeing as I accidentally aggroed a raging colossus right as he appeared and I didn't actually start fighting him until at around 60% health (after ditching the other colossus), I'd have to say that he wasn't *too hard*, despite the fact I had to pop Lay on Hands and trinkets. Blessing of Light goes a long way towards keeping the health up, so it's just a matter of preventing him from spawning the adds. It took me probably about 3-4 minutes, mainly due to my entire DPS originating from white hits on http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24384 and reflective Holy Shield/Retribution Aura.

I tanked him down in the crater with my back to the crystal, so his knockbacks didn't do much to me.

Solo'd as a 65 BM hunter.
Not easy, take as little mobs as you can. Go all out, always have mend pet up. Try to trap the first shardling, and as more come FD them off. Burn all your cooldowns if you have to, BW, Intimidation, and rapid fire. Trinkets if you have them. Died a few times from getting an add, and had to use a few pots and bandaids.

Maybe it was just our luck, but this quest was really annoying not because of the summoned monster, but because of the area! There were so many Raging Colossi roaming that it was almost impossible to clear the area for the fight, because you'd have to fight 2 or 3 elites at once! Cleared with 3 62s, but we died a lot along the way.

Solo'd as a 62 Ret pally, my gear was nearly all the quest rewards I'd gotten since entering outlands, and a piece or two of pre-outland gear.

I fought him in the hole. Used Devo aura and Seal of Command and pounded away at him as hard and fast as I could. I repentenced the first add and backed up and continued fighting. With Divine Storm healing yourself and instant Flash of Lights from Art of War I was able to keep myself up really easily. I ended up tanking the second and third add along with the boss and they made things a tad bit easier, giving more health back from each Divine Storm. I used my Charm of Alacrity when I got a bit low to heal myself up. I never had to bubble or pot. I'm also an engineer and used a Fel Iron Bomb for a quick stun to run back and heal up a bit, but in the end that really wasn't necessary. I finished the fight with about 10 seconds left on the repentenced add. Killed him and went to go collect my quest reward :)

Solo'ed as a level 63 blood Death Knight. Was damn hard though. With frost presence and a stamina scroll, i had a little over 8k HP, and i survived the fight with about 100 hp left.

I pulled him into the pit (near the big red thingy) but also had a collosus on me plus his adds. Luckily a 80 rouge was near by and killed the 63 elite collosus for me.

At first I tried putting my back against the crystal. That was intensely annoying as I couldn't see what was going on.

Then I tried putting my back against the nearby mountains. That doesn't work in that the elite will just knock you back further up the mountain, which presents a danger of a catastrophic fall and of the mob losing aggro from going too far from the crystal.

So. Just put your back up against the crystal in the ravine around it. You really don't have to see what's going on. It's a fight just like any of the other colossi you fought.

Easily soloable. Did it on my 64 DK (blood) in frost presence. Finished him and his adds with 57% health left after the dust settled. Backed up against the crystal and turn on the juice to see what would shake loose.

Soloed as 61 BM Hunter, put all your cooldowns on and focus on boss, when adds spawn, first use frost trap, next time feign death, pet shouldn't die with Mend Pet on all the time

Remember to switch to viper when your mana is low to keep healing on pet and dps

Go into frost presence. Just get diseases on him (plague strike - icy touch) and death strike/blood strike and entire way. dont care for the mobs. and also fight in the pit to counter the knockbacks. make sure you have glyph of deathstrike becuase 40% incease in damage and healing is A LOT!

i used bone sheild twice to save myself and i stayed above 60% hp all the way through.

You can solo this as a shadow priest without much problems.

Buff up, make sure you are at full mana and use the seed (it is advisable that you kill Raging Colossi that are near the circle so they don't interfere). Precast Power Word: Shield as soon as the revitalization process ends. When the big guy appears, the first thing to do is to pull him close to the mountains so that his huge knockback doesn't affect you much. Keep every DoT on him and use Mindblast whenever it's off cooldown while spamming Mind Flay. Use Power Word: Shield whenever you lose the Weakened Soul debuff. After he spawns 1 or 2 shardlings, you can use Psychic Scream to relieve some damage. Shouldn't be hard at all to solo.

Solo'd as a 64 DK. You may have to clear out one or two of the 63 elites surrounding the summon site prior to starting. Your best bet is to fight him in the pit, as his knock back won't aggro more mobs in there. As a DK I used my ghoul and my gargoyle on him along with rune tap and death strike to keep me healthy. Fight went well, but this would have been easier with probably one other player.

Just soloed this with my 61 Demo lock

Make sure you've cleared out all the Giants patrolling the area, and you have your Voidwalker at your side, Start using the seed, once the giant spawns, DoT him up, and start using your want for some additional DPS, but make sure your voidwalker maintains aggro (Demonic Empowerment is a huge help) Health funnel / drain life when necessary, and also use Death coil, as it can safe your life. I used my Metamorphosis as soon as 2 adds were spawned to take those down, and furthermore, a Potion and a healthstone. finished him off when I had around 100 HP left, it was a close call, but do-Able.

If you want to play it safe: the Giant can be feared. don't forget to clear out the area first, though. The last thing you want is 2 giants having their way with you....

Obvious I know but when he knocks you back use the time it takes for him to get you to use a bandage. Especially if you're not a healing class. That extra 1200hp or so you get before he smacks you again can be the difference between victory or failure.

Shardlings have about 2400HP but their damage racks up if you let 2 or more roam so down them as soon as they pop up.

Soloed this as a 62 Ele Shaman. Clear potential adds, set up totems, summon. Start spamming LB and CL as he runs up to you. Few more LBs and then thunderstorm. At this point heal up and start back with the LB/CL spam. Only reason he was any harder than the normal elites wandering that area was the knock back which caused him to evade retreat the first couple tries when he knocked me back too far.

Tried this solo as a 61 frost mage but had to run because he's immune to freeze (grrr!). Came back a little later with a 63 fury warrior and we beat him no problem. Make sure you clear the 3 or 4 giants that path around that area - getting knocked into one would mess up your day.

I recommend you go to your interface and temporarily turn on display percentages (ESC->Interface->Status Text->Display Percentages) if you are stun-capable. This way you know exactly when the adds will spawn, and all you have to do is hit the stun button aroun 76%, 51% and 26%. Worked a charm for me.

had him down to his last 5000 hp before i died on my first try as lvl 64 rogue. got him on my second try (anticipated and stealthed + cheap shot) in the beginning and popped a health potion when i was at 25% hp. as rogue be sure to clear the elites around them since he has the tendency to kick you away. when he decreases in health he'll divide himself among smaller, non-elite mobs. just be sure you save blade flurry for that moment, as it's going to help.

Easily soloed as a Restoration Druid at 64... almost too easy. Had no problems simply out healing the damage in Tree form. Just use Thorns and auto attack him down with your back to the crystal. Innervate when low on mana and you shouldn't have any issues. Ignore the spawns, you can easily heal through them. Didn't have to use Barkskin or anything like that.

Just soloed this as affliction specced warlock at level 63.
Wiped a couple times before i figured it out.
Have your VW out but set it to passive. Put up corruption and Curse of weakness on the boss and just drain tank him. Refresh Haunt when it runs out.
When the adds spawn make sure you keep up weakness and corruption on them.

I had the VW out due to sacriifice and the aoe taunt. when the first add spawns, i just used the vws taunt to buy me some time to get the situation under control after that it was easy.

Make sure you tank him with your back to the crystal. And make sure to keep up curse of weakness, having it up on the main guy and the mobs makes this quest easymode.

This quest is easy peasy as a retadin. just summon him, jump into the pit and fight him the way you fight the others. Did it as lvl 62.

Actually, it is soloable as a deep frost mage. I did it as lvl 64.

This is how I did:

- If you have flying mount (you can buy it at lvl 60 now) just fly away right when you're finished channeling the quest item, so you don't aggro the giant.
- Use Molten Armor instead of Ice Armor for the extra crit (he's immune to slow anyway, correct me if I'm wrong).
- Use your Water Elemental and let him get the first 3-4 shots.
- Then pop everything you have and just nuke him down. Use Ice Block if needed, just to make him go back to the Water Elemental just for a while.
- As soon as one mini adds spawn, use Frost Nova and keep him in place and move away from him so your Ice Barrier doesn't break too soon (they hit pretty hard).

Also remember to either clear the area or just fight him against a wall (mountain or the pit).

Just soloed it as a 63 balance druid on my second attempt. Keep up dots, use Starfall and treants for added damage. HoT yourself up and then go back into moonkin and spam wrath or starfire, whichever you prefer. Jump down into the pit so that the knockback doesn't make you pull half the zone.

Not to difficult, I did it with a Feral druid, me a Blood DK, both of us level 61. The mob itself is easy, but the first time we pulled him he threw me into 5 other elites. I would recommend pulling him into that little pit so that when you are thrown you are not thrown to far. I know I am not the first to comment on this, but the main reason I wanted to was because of the amusement of our first try X-D. It was rather amusing to be DPSing down the mob and all of a sudden be halfway across the zone with 5 elites beating me up. Naturally, the second time we did not make the same mistake the second time :-).

It's important to note that you need to do Colossal Mewnace to get Crimson Crystal Shard to drop which will lead to Crimson Crystal Clue. Once Crimson Crystal Clue is complete, this quest will become available.

Easy to solo as a lvl 62 Blood DK (in DK starter gear). No pots or CDs needed. Just Frost Presence, keep diseases up, Heart Strike for DPS, and Death Strike for heals. The key is to focus on the adds that appear at 75/50/25% health. You don't want multiple adds beating on you. So change your target to them when they appear. Once they are dead, get back to killing the big guy.

Of course, clear the area behind you since you will get knocked back.

Surprisingly easy to do as a Shadow Priest (level 64), I waited till the area was clear and then got knocked back into the crater.
Just keep up your dots along with Vampiric Embrace and bubble and you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Just Solo'd this horrible quest as a level 63 Discipline Priest... no BoA's. I just shielded up and DoT'd and wanded him while I kept myself alive, and, to counter his kick, I positioned myself so he'd kick me from one ledge to another, giving me a few moments to DPS him or heal if need be. As for his adds, I nuked them down as fast as possible to keep the damage I take down... but yeah, but of luck to all others who do this awful quest...

All you need to solo this as a druid is a feral spec.
First, cast hots on yourself, switch into bear form, and pull a colossus while being careful not to pull more than one.

Then mangle/maul the colossus until he shrinks and a smaller, non elite colossus appears, at this point, you still shouldn't have to heal yourself.

Now it is important to take out this smaller colossus before resuming attacking the elite. If you ignore all of these non-elites, they will come back and bite you in the bum later, trust me ;^)

If you find that you are below 50% health at this point feel free to hop into caster form and regrowth/rejuve, after the non-elite is dead, he won't whack you for enough damage to kill you while you aren't in bear form. Go back into bear form and dps until the second non-elite appears, and repeat the process until you've killed the colossus.

You can solo this as a DK (in my case an unholy DK) by standing with your back to the crystal, putting up your diseases and spamming Death Strike. Ignore the adds until the boss is dead - they don't hit that hard. I did this in Frost Presence for the added HP and armor.

Soloed as level 63 draenei prot warrior, mostly geared in blues and greens, 6,6k hp. Once he spawned, popped Shield blocked and tanked him down until he summoned the first add. Demoralizing shouted and cleaved it down. Charged back when he used his knockback, demo shouted and cleaved again once he summoned another add. Pretty simple fight, didn't have to blow any other CDs than racial.

I just soloed this as a 63 Blood Death Knight (7307 HP). Right before Goliathon came out, I used Bone Shield, Raise Dead and then I jumped in the pit. I got my diseases up and pretty much used everything against him. I used Vampiric Blood and Rune Tap 75% into the fight and killed him. When I finally finished his minions off, I was at 1000 HP.

Tried to solo on a 63 Warrior but hit a snag when killing his adds didn't allow me to use Victory Rush. Seems strange to me since the other mobs in the area do trigger VR when you kill their little adds.

Just did it as solo 63 frost mage. Land in the back left corner. Defeat the 2 collosii closest to the pathing for the highlighted area. Boss: Use Ice barrier, berserking, Archane brilliance, icy veins, and MIRROR IMAGE. If your ice barrier runs out before cooldown is finished due to damage, most likely will, use coldsnap to instant cast ice barrier again. Pound the Frostbolt. Pound it.

Do this with a Blood DK and feel like God. Seriously. 3 ads attacked at random times each during the fight. Would finish one off, along with king, and then another would aggro, but didn't die. DKs really are Gods of soloing.

L63 Shadow Priest in mix of blue and green gear - here's how to solo.

Obviously take out all the nearby and patrolling giants first (three in total), the last thing you want is another giant joining the fight (standard solo method, unload everything on giant, ignore adds, then multidot the three mini giants once elite is down, keep shield up.)

As soon as the big guy spawns, shield up and unload everything you have on him, keep all DOTs at all times, and go allow him to kick you around as much as he likes, you won't take much damage, and it's beneficial, as it gives time to get off a free Blast/Flay as he closes in.

Absolutely ignore the mini giants, and just focus on the elite, as soon as he's down, you can ignore the mini spawns, as the quest is counted as complete once the main elite is down. Shield up and run, the minis will just despawn.

I found the shoulders to be a slight-upgrade to the Pauldrons of Arcane Rage, given as a reward for the Hellfire Ramparts quest (sorry don't know how to link items)

You gain some crit and +7 intellect, but lose some spirit (hit) and stam.

Solo'd him at Lvl63 Demonology Warlock. Pet classes have an easy time of this. So no need to go through how to fight the boss.. however, I do want to mention that the "planting of the seeds" (channel) time took awhile.. I couldn't just fly down without aggro'ing a partol, so you might want to kill off a patrol and then time it right.

Thanks to some of the tips provided by other players, I was finally able to complete this one. My main problem was that the boss never seemed to show up after I set the seed off. Finding out here where he came up and how to manage him was very helpful so after 5 tries and a few deaths, I finally got him. Lvl 61 rogue this time around. Thanks, everyone.

I couldn’t get the guy to spawn at first, but if you stand on the green marker, use the seed, then don’t move until the first guy stops talking (he says around three things before the guy you need to kill spawns).
Once he spawns, jump in the pit with the crystal - this will minimise the likelihood of him using his knockback ability around the frequently-respawning Giant Colossi and adding them.
Killing him makes the quest ready for turn in, and he dropped no loot for me.
