Just completed this event and defeated all 20 waves. There were no chests for me near Kuldas at first, but after standing there for a few minutes doing some research, one popped up. Someone else was able to loot it and it despawned before I could click on it. Not sure if this is intended, or a bug, but the lag on my server was pretty significant after reset so this may have something to do with it. If you can't see a chest, just wait a few minutes and be quick. There are, indeed, 4 total chests at the end by Kuldas, but everyone else is also able to loot them at the same time and they will despawn if you're not quick enough. They will respawn eventually, but it takes some time. Just be patient and you'll get all 4 chests.

How did they manage to mess up getting loot out of a chest? The one thing players expect and want to work

Got put into an endless loop because I was stuck with a Nullbot and a Medbot. Nullbot kept evading + put a immunity shield on the Medbot. Medbot wouldn't wander away and was healing the Nullbot endlessly.

Edit: Got out of it! I play a mage so I went invisible to go out of combat, spec'd into Blast Wave so I'd have a knock back, knocked Medbot out of range.

Here's what you need to know (as Fire Mage, was able to complete all 20 waves on 2nd try.)

If you have a 备用工具盒 click it before you start the event for 1 of 3 buffs

1. 群聚机器人 Just hit them once so they attack you not 代言人库尔达斯
2. 被腐蚀的机械师 Just interrupt its cast and will instantly die. I used 冲击波, 龙息术, or 法术反制 as a Fire Mage.
3. 医疗机器人 Leave these for the end of each wave. They don't attack anyone, and you can take your time while waiting for your cooldowns to reset for next wave.
4. Malfunctioning Pylon Stationary, stand in front of the beam so you take the damage, not 代言人库尔达斯.
5. 空值机器人 Kill immediately. All enemies are immune to damage when this guy is up.
6. 爆破炸弹机器人 Kill away from 代言人库尔达斯. Stand next to it for a second and it will start to explode killing itself.
7. 自动踏铁者 Kill away from 代言人库尔达斯. Stand next to it for a second and it will start its lava puddle killing itself.
8. Awakened Phalanx Wave 20 Boss. take what you just learned and kill him.

For the quest, you have to do 20 waves. They count in sections of 5 waves.

If you can't seem to do the entire event, just do the first 5 waves, 4 times and you will get credit, just not the achievement.

UPDATE: Also as @wowitsnic mentioned in replies. In order to get all 4 chest rewards, you need to complete all 20 waves, not just any 20 waves. 1 reward per 5 waves.

I did all 20 waves got ported out and looted 4 chests.
Got the 脚踏实地，默默耕耘 achievement but didn't get any of these ones: 主机觉醒：第10波 etc

I did the 20 waves today and yes, I was over geared since I have over 580 in ilvl but it was really underwhelming. When you're doing the 50 waves challenge this must be a total snooze fest most of the time.

When fighting the Awakened Phalanx in wave 20 I was targeted by an ability, so I instincitvely used Feign Death. Bad idea: the boss reset, and was now stuck in an "not able to attack" mode. There is also no button or way to leave the event that I could find. I had to hearth out of it. So I suggest to stay away from abilities that drop combat.

What a bugfest.

Did it as a BM Hunter ilvl 573. It was a bit tight at some points but still fully doable. The heals you get later on are what get you through, also making sure that you run over the self-destruct bots since they do that when you just run over them and do it away from the NPC you are defending.

I've been looking to see if it's possible to do this as a healer for the 20 waves. I haven't found any information so I decided to give it a go.

I ran it with a 565 Resto shaman and aside from being much slower than a dps class, everything was fine.

You can heal Speaker Kuldas and as long as you get all the aggro, the waves will only attack you.

I completed this easily on my 575 Elemental Shaman. The first time I completed it for the quest and got the achieve, 脚踏实地，默默耕耘. I did it again, completed all 20 waves, without dying and kept Kuldas alive, but when it ported me out at the end, I got a DBM message pop-up that I had wiped. Weird.

As a Hunter Frost trap will one shot the adds that channel the beam of fire., for everyone else I just agree whole room and stand in electricity beam and then kill that first.

Just to add to what has been said: Kuldas doesn't heal himself. He also doesn't heal even if you wait to start the next have. You either have to heal him so he doesn't die or pick up the potions Medbot drops and it will heal him.

For those with no heal ability, you can use Weavercloth Bandages to heal Kuldas in between the 5-set rounds.

Remember: before doing the event, you have to do all the story quests and then it unlocks with the WQ all together!

Don't make the same mistake as i did! :D

I did this at level 75 as a feral druid before it was nerfed. At a certain point I couldn't understand why so many attacks were missing and why I was getting chunked for so much damage. Well it's because nothing scaled and it was all level 80. The only way I was able to beat it was by CCing an add so I had time to wait for cooldowns and heal the NPC back up. Probably the hardest thing I ever did in the game lol. Where's my feat of strength.

Once you’ve entered the Scenario, click the spare toolbox, 3 buffs will be displayed (see the screenshots I uploaded)

These buffs are permanent/no timer for the duration of the Scenario
You have approximately 90 seconds to chose your buff before the toolbox despawns
Here are the buffs:

应急修复 - 200% Speed
主机恩泽 - Higher Jumps
熔炉之心 - Damage on hit + 50% reduced damage taken
蒸汽喷吐 - AOE damage around you
踏铁者支援 - Support Bot (unclear what this does & I've not got it yet)
齿轮行者支援 - Kuldas receives 50% less damage taken
敏锐律令 - 5% Crit stacking up to 100 times
急速律令 - 5% Haste stacking up to 100 times
再生律令 - Regen 5% Health in combat + 5% Leech stacking up to 100 times
耐力律令 - Increased Stamina stacking up to 100 times
狂怒律令 - 5% damage amp + size, stacking up to 100 times

Obviously go for Edict of Rage if you get this option!

Finally: Spare Toolboxes are obtained through 翻动过的土地 in all zones. Not just the mobs you kill from the earth drops the toolboxes. I've had them drop from every form of looting wax. Rate seems to be ~10% (1 out of 10 earths).

Leaving DOES NOT save progression. You start back at Wave 1. So don't do this while in a queue for something you want to enter

If, like me, your quest log says it is complete and ready for hand in, but you can't find the NPC, it is Gnawbles, in a nearby building at 47; 35
