This item will be used during 谨防麻烦.

Once you enter 主机觉醒, click the spare toolbox and it will bring open a window that will offer you 1 of 3 buffs to use during the encounter.

Do Not Throw Away or Delete!
Used for 谨防麻烦 and/or during 主机觉醒
Once you’ve entered the Scenario, click the spare toolbox, 3 buffs will be displayed (see the screenshots I uploaded)

These buffs are permanent/no timer for the duration of the Scenario
You have approximately 90 seconds to chose your buff before the toolbox despawns
Here are the buffs:

应急修复 - 200% Speed
主机恩泽 - Higher Jumps
熔炉之心 - Damage on hit + 50% reduced damage taken
蒸汽喷吐 - AOE damage around you
踏铁者支援 - Support Bot (unclear what this does & I've not got it yet)
齿轮行者支援 - Kuldas receives 50% less damage taken
敏锐律令 - 5% Crit stacking up to 100 times
急速律令 - 5% Haste stacking up to 100 times
再生律令 - Regen 5% Health in combat + 5% Leech stacking up to 100 times
耐力律令 - Increased Stamina stacking up to 100 times
狂怒律令 - 5% damage amp + size, stacking up to 100 times

*stacking buffs stack during combat/when using abilities
Obviously go for Edict of Rage if you get this option!

Finally: Spare Toolboxes are obtained through 翻动过的土地 in all zones. Not just the mobs you kill from the earth drops the toolboxes. I've had them drop from every form of looting wax. Rate seems to be ~10% (1 out of 10 earths).

A buff? The event has been too easy since week one... I was hoping this would increase the difficulty and buff the rewards.

In case anyone is wondering (like myself) why they wouldn't drop:

Nalawod yesterday at noon (Patch 11.0.2)
You should make it known that Spare Toolbox will not drop unless you are at least Renowned 7 with The Assembly of the Deeps. I tried to get this to drop about 400 times over 3 days and finally figured out it has a Rep requirement. Get to Renown 7 quickly by completing most of the quest story lines in Gundargaz and turning in Odd Globs of Wax

I had been farming these for three days wondering why I wasn't getting any. Now I know, the comment is hidden under a bunch of back and forth, so putting it here for visibility.

Okay, is it just me or is this event so trivial that its basically not even worth the time to use this? Especially since the stacking buffs are either broken or the tooltip is wrong. I have been a good boy, and keeping my toolbox in my bag every week, only to use it and basically never even notice.

I'm basically at a point where I am considering just deleting the darn things so I don't have to see them in my bag all week. Anyone else feel this way?

If there was a buff that made the time between waves instant I would use that.

I have no idea why this item exists. It gives a selection of buffs that can stack to 100 times but you never can have more than one, and its for an event with limited waves and that is easy even with adventure tier gear.

Unless this was once an infinite "see how high you can go" wave mode where boxes would keep dropping off mobs there just... isn't a purpose for these?

Do these not work for tanks or stop working at some point?

I noticed I've had a toolbox in my inventory but have never used one.

I'm inside a scenario now and clicking the toolbox is not giving me a list of 3 buffs to choose from.

ilvl 617 vengeance demonhunter, and NO, I don't need the buffs. But would still like to check them out.
