Maybe nice for soloing stuff, but seems about as useless as
Lifeward
was for WOTLK, particularly in the beginning of the expansion when mats are expensive.

I wonder will it good for warlock for PvE, as less life tap=more dps, not to mention this reduce the healer burden
Really depends how often it procs

still wondering if the healing received by the proc creates threat, seems like a silly question but it was something i wondered with lifeward and blood drain as well. thanks

Since no one's mentioned it so far--the all important "What does it look like?"
Mending has a very heavy "leafy" effect. You'll notice a greenish yellow glow and leaves constantly fall off of your weapon.

You guys must have missed the part where this can proc from spell damage. This is going to be pretty good for pvp for anyone who has dots. I put this on my boomkin, and since there is no PPM or CD, the way it is worded in the tool tip says that each time a dot ticks, you have a chance to heal. 2-3 dots, ticking every 2-3 seconds, seems like good odds to frequently get heals.
I am testing it on my boomkin, but I haven't put in the time required to really get an idea of how good it is. If it turns out to be ineffective, I may go with the Hurricane enchant instead.

Seems to be a 10% proc chance. Went afk attacking a dummy for 15 minutes, 318 melee hits 32 mending procs. When i tried again with my seal active the occurrence stayed at roughly 10% with about double the frequency of heals in comparison to no seal active over a period of time.

I threw it on my tank weapon as my alt enchanter created it to level and was selling for crap on the AH. For boss fights I've found it usually heals for ~25k over the course of the fight.
Not a huge amount, but any extra healing on you can help out, especially during heroics, and possibly obtainable for pretty cheap as enchanters will be creating them to level.

this is probably the best 'low cost' weapon enchant for a tank type character.
while the dodge proc one may be better, its also quite a bit more expensive.
it should proc a decent amount on a warrior as well when you consider auto attacks, heroic strike off the global every 3 seconds, and an attack per gcd. you are getting about 4 swings out per 3 seconds with a prot warrior so it should average a proc roughly every 7.5 seconds or so, saying you are tanking an instance and have rage to keep spamming your attacks on cool down.
edit - btw if you are really having threat issues with vengeance you are doing something terribly wrong. vengeance is so overboard atm most tanks are ignoring hit and expertise caps because vengeance easily covers up any misses you have.

Pretty useful on Demon lock while using Immolation Aura+Hellfire. As it seems, it heals you for each damage done, so they are apart from each other. Assuming that you attack 10 mobs at once, with the %10 ratio given above, it may be treated as %20 cuz of 2 skills and can be multiplied with monsters which becomes about 2k heal per second^^

I put this enchant on my offhand weapon on my enhancement shammy. I was unable to determine how often it proc'd (unfortunately), but when it proc'd it typically would heal me for 750 to 850; however, there were a couple of times that it critted and healed me for 1250'ish.

For those of you interested in how this enchant might work for casters:
I did some tests on my boomkin using Recount. With dots running and following eclipse rotations on target dummies, I found that it procced 14 times in 4 minutes. It crit twice.
Hit
Min: 749 Avg: 805 Max: 848 Count: 12 Percentage: 85.7%
Crit
Min: 1247 Avg: 1248 Max: 1249 Count: 2 Percentage: 14.3%
Total Healing by Mending: 12154
The crit % is within 2 percent of my current spell crit.
Following those numbers, it would seem to proc about 3.5 times per minute.
Is it worth it for caster? Right now I am leaning towards no. However, if I were to dot everything in sight and get more procs it might be nice. I'm guessing that it doesn't work that way...it most likely has an internal cooldown or procs per minute limit.

I've been playing around with this enchant on my 85 rogue on PVP and have found it CAN tick off Rupture and possibly Deadly Poison(not confirmed; will try and see if I can test this). I would assume this is the same for all bleed effects.
Edit: Does seem to proc off Deadly Poison ticks on my rogue.

Did a test on my Ret, fought for one min.
Procs: 10 784-892
Critical Heals: 1 1347
The proc time seems pretty fair, and could benefit in long fights such as bosses in heriocs. I would find this extremely useful for off heals seeing as healers have to watch their mana pools during boss encouters etc.
The heals are appearing for me between 780-890 Per heal, with a crit heal just above 1300. I could see rogues getting tons more procs then a ret with a 2h though.
The pricing for it is somewhat cheap, seeing as the required mats are like those from normal disenchanting in WotLK and has succeeded Lifeward. If you wish for the extra heals as a tank for PvE I would recomend, or for some healing in PvP while you attack.

Just finished running some numbers.
The setup: Paladin tank with 1.49% crit (10 rating from Alchemist stone), 2006 spell power, no haste - 2.8 swing speed.
2783 total hits, and the numbers slowly started to stop fluctuating. 2367 of the hits did not proc it. On 416 of the hits, it did proc, meaning that it proc'ed 17.58% of the time, with a proc rate of 3.77 PPM (procs per minute).
For healing, 401 of the procs were non-criticals that healed for 836 to 961. 15 procs were criticals that healed for 1254 to 1392. The average heal came in at 915.4, and the healing per minute was 3448.92, this is also assuming the tank is not at full hp 100% of the time.
It beats the hell out of nothing and is probably good for enchanting a low quality weapon, a weapon where you don't want to waste lots of gold on only to get an upgrade for it quickly - I got mine for 100g. I suspect that Windwalk might scale better for bosses that hit harder, but on my server no enchanter seems to have that yet, so another reason to have this enchant.
Edit: It's also a shame that the leaves are not there, like in the preview video on mochamp.

yet another enchant that looks totally pointless.
some might disagree with me, but look at it this way.
the spell Heals you for 744 to 856. at lvl 80 most people have 30k health, that only heals you about .025%-.03% of your health if you are exactly 30k health.
if the person who did the test, tested at lvl 85 then it doesnt scale with your health. meaning that it only heals for .0075%-.008% if your at 100k hp exactly. (this isnt counting crits). a locks dot will hit for more then what this heals because their spells do scale with their lvl, and are more powerful when calculated with their spell power.
blizz really didnt think this through, a weapon enchant that doesnt even heal for 1k health non crit, when people are going to be hitting 100k hp. even if the enchant is dirt cheap, its not worth getting because of the crap amount it heals you for. in most cases the little bit of health you get wont even be noticeable.
lol. capta: spread conserne

The best advantage to this enchant: It give 5 levels per enchant. At 11 hypnotic dust and 3 greater celestial esences per enchant that is only 22 dust and 6 greater essences and 2 vellums for 10 levels. This averages out to 2.2 hypnotic dust, 1.8 lesser celestial essence and 0.2 vellums per enchant to get you from 450 to 460.

Just wasted my few saved up mats on this, hi I'm a lock btw. Lifetapped my life away and then proceeded to DoT up 4 lv 85 target dummies at once, and with unstable affliction, corruption, and CoA on all of them at once (that's about 12 ticks of dmg per 3 seconds not including haste!), still only seemed to trigger once every 10-12 seconds or so. Cool particle effect, but not worth it in a pvp or pve situation. Can't see why they would bother putting something like this in the game.

just to put this in terms that may make more sense for theorycrafting, that's about 162 heal per second.
For a boss doing 8k DPS to a tank, this is around 2% of the healing a tank would need. From this standpoint it seems similar to enchants like Avalanche on DPS accounting for somewhere around 2% of damage done.

I will try this out later on my shaman, had some one tell me it had a 45 sec ICD on it. But reading these forums and other posts... doesnt seem to have one. So if its a flate 10% proc rate. Then in theory a shaman dual weilding mending should get more procs than a caster/melee who hits less frenquently. But if its like 10 ppm then it would proc more often for a slower hiter than a fast hitter. Either way, I'll find out when i get home and buy some cheap weapons to test it out.

THIS is a wonderful enchant if you are gonna solo Magtheridon as prot warrior (maybe even as dps warr)!
Tried Magtheridon without the enchant and just relied on my self healing talents and shieldwall+last stand+enraged regen macro but it was still not enough healing.
After reading the info here I decided to put the enchant on a weapon I had lying around and BOOM, with all the bleeds on the adds and all the AOE a prot warr has, phase 1 was a cakewalk, didn't need to worry about healing at all. When phase 2 hit, the dmg went up just a little but was still managed with the enchant and blood craze. I only used my macro when I was at 20-30k health left and the enchant kept me up long enough for the macro to come off cd and I could use it again.
This enchant is just wonderful!
Recount on healing done: (In a 572 second fight, just over 9.5 minutes)
Blood Craze - Count 594 - 704564hp - 57.1%
Mending - Count 344 - 291249hp - 23.6% (That is just awesome!)
Enraged Regen - Count 30 - 227257hp - 18.4%
Victory Rush - Count 1 - 10926hp - 0.9%

I use Spark of Life and Focused Insight talents as well from the resto tree. With healing stream totem and maelstrom instant heals it's amazing bro. For the lost att pwr from landslide that procs every 45 secs cd(chance sometimes) I use Swordgaurd embroidery(tailoring) 1k att pwr procs alot from the speed. I also use Eng for the gear tinkerin gloves aprox 1k att pwr also great in area. Also the crit and 4k att pwr trink is awesome from brewfest.

Maybe this can help some enhancement shammies looking for this enchant.
I applied it to my both weapons, and they
stack
. It will have a chance of proc on your main hand swing, and another one on your offhand swing.
This works with
all spells and attacks
and that includes windfury, frostbrand, flametongue attacks and
lighting shield
too! (including static shock)
Sometimes it procs for me two times at once with Stormstrike and with Windfury, what makes me think it can procs 4 times on a windfury attack if you have enough luck.
This procs very often and every proc was healing my shammy for 980~1040, sometimes criting for 1900+, on lvl85. This, plus Maelstrom Weapon and Healing Stream totem grants a very nice survivability. (note: I have
at rank 3)
It is a very good enchant for PvP and probably for leveling (haven't tested on lvlin').
Hope this help, see ya!
@EDIT
I think it is a 15% chance proc, because of this

While the enchant would be better at appropriate level if they tacked on an internal CD and up'ed the heal considerably...That's not really the focus I see in this enchant (and the Lifeward of past).
This enchant is gloriously useful for farming, especially certain old raid content. I find it worth the effort to keep a crafted weapon with Mending on it around for these instances as it can really smooth out the healing needed for some AoE situations. Keep a primary weapon with a good DPS enchant on it though.

Tried it out today as im doing some soloing stuff and wanted to improve on my selfheals a tad for some other stuff but after seeing the results im utterly disappointed that this enchant even exists for cata..
Did some testing soloing Gamon as prot pally and after ~3min 40sec I got the following results
Seal of insight (with the extra 5% healing glyph) healed for:
448 902
Word of glory healed for:
191 204
Drain Life (this is my LFR souldrinker sword) healed for:
129 073
Mending healed for:
15 360
In other words, dont waste any mats on it. Atleast not now unless they consider buffing it.
This was done on 4.3 and iLvl 384

I put this on my assassination rogues daggers, having heard that it stacks.
Fresh level 85 rogue with approx. 100k health, I get heals about 1000 each. Over a one minute dummy fight I got 333 hps, a total of about 20k over-healing.
This very acceptable in my opinion as I had felt rather squishy against some of the level 85 mobs. Coupled with recup this should fix my downtime and survival problems. This is not enough healing to save me from seriously poor judgement, but should allow me longer chains of mob killing.
Materials as people have stated are also very economical, the +5 points for each dagger put me over the top. Another benefit. When I DE my weapons I even get some of that back.
I would recommend this enchant as the best for fresh 85 rogues for these reasons. You don't want to spend 10k gold on a level 308 dagger, yet it seems to perfectly fit the specific needs of a newb rogue. It would not suffice for a tank, this is what healers are for.

Current findings were done in the span of 10 minutes and 2 seconds, standard Prot "DPS" priority from behind Boss Level Target Dummy. (Lack of thinking on my part, as we're rarely tanking -behind- a boss)
Total Melee Breakdown:
144

227 White Hits (18 misses, 6 dodges, 45 glancing)
43
复仇者之盾

(About all I could consider proccing it)
Now, for the healing procs:
65 Drainlife hits (No crits)
63 Mending hits (3 Crits)
Average heal of Drainlife was 9411. Overall healing was 611736.
Average heal of Mending was 890, the average crit being 1758. Overall healing was 58651
Make of it what you will. At this point I am block capped, so Windwalk is only a speed boost to me (although a frequent one). Landslide would also seem a likely choice, as more damage is more damage (Or AP in this case). From a pure "survivability" standpoint, I like to think that every single little thing counts, so I shall stick with Mending for at least one or two raid nights, once again out of curiosity in an actual raid environment.
Some minor things to note are that since no blocking occurred on the target dummy, there was no chance to gain Reckoning, which I could see drastically altering (or perhaps not at all) the number of hits. The healing numbers are most likely affected by any increased healing/healing taken talents in the Paladin Protection tree.
(Originally posted this comment on the actual item, not the spell effect. Might as well put it in both, as anyone could look at one but not the other)

For any melee class that picked up an (extra)
汲魂者
(any version of it) and has no need to enchant it with WW or Landslide for dps can turn it into an optimal soloing sword with this enchant. As dualwielder get another non-main offhand (
灭世之刃
as nobody needs it anyhow, or just another Souldrinker) and dual enchant Mending and you will likely see some use for it.
I'm currently running around with this on my rogue when I solo stuff, unless I'm sure I have no need for the extra heals in which case I just switch back to the Fangs; it's not necessaryly the enchant but the Souldrinker that's hurting my dps the most. With the newly introduced
吸血药膏
together with the 5% heal of Shiv rogues already had their survivability upped like mad. Throw this combo in = win.
