At least at the moment, this is only available by creating a Worgen character and then training it at the pet battle trainers. Pets are shared account-wide, however, and (at least at the moment) there is no requirement to keep the character that acquired the pet. So, as long as you have a free character slot available, you may make the Worgen, buy the pet, and then delete the Worgen while retaining the pet. Several other trainer pets (but not all of them) are exclusive in this manner.

Despite some earlier comments to the contrary, the trainer in Stormwind will have this available for Worgen. Specifically visiting the Darkshore trainer is not required. Note that this does require you to complete the Worgen introductory scenario.

This pet is available via the battle pet trainer (currently any battle pet trainer can be used, but previously each pet was only available to the specific battle pet trainer for your race) depending on your race. Once learned, it will be available to all characters on your account, the races/pets acquired are as follows:

Pandaren have access to a 碧玉雏鹤 regardless of faction chosen, this pet is currently not available through any other means. Most of the other pets listed are available via vendors, i've marked the ones that are not.

After reading the comments here I was worried I wouldn't be able to get this pet as I have already learned pet training and proceeded pretty far with it on my Pandaren. Happily, I hopped on my Worgen druid, flew to Lor'danel and lo and behold, there was the raven. 40 silver.

If you can, roll a Worgen DK rather than going through the entire baby worgen zone (Gilneas). MUCH easier and faster to get through the mandatory quests as you level (55-58 vs 1-13) and your last DK quest takes you straight to SW anyway, where the pet trainer with the raven is.

I know this is obviously a reference to "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe, especially since it has an ability called Nevermore, but could it also serve a duel reference towards Itachi Uchiha from the Naruto anime/manga? Itachi does use ravens/crows for his genjutsu which alone is not a good reason for it to reference him, but the Gilnean Raven's level 2 ability called "Darkflame" keeps reminding me of Itachi's Amaterasu.

You can only purchase this pet once per account.

Horde mains can either roll a Worgen Death Knight (quickest option) or roll a Worgen anything and go through the long starting quests. After finishing the starting quests you get dropped off in 泰达希尔. Use the flight master near you to fly to Lor'Danel in 黑海岸.

Will is standing by a tree 40 yards from where you land. Pay your 20 silver and you're done.

Gilnean Raven and Crow have an amazing combo with Call Darkness but don't bother using it against an Elemental-type; the blindness inflicted by that ability is a weather effect and thus the combo won't work on an Elemental.

Question: I'm horde, and I want this pet. I already have a DK, so that's not an option. If I make a worgen, level it to 10 or so and go buy the raven, can I delete the worgen after? Or will the pet disappear too?

Would like to know beforehand. Can somebody with experience shine some light on this?

This pet is an ideal candidate for a darkness team.
I use him on a team with my Pandaren Monk and Soul of the Aspects.

Patch 5.2: Brilliant Kaliri, Jade Tentacle, Tirisfal Batling, Firefly, Jade Crane Chick, Gilnean Raven, and Shore Crawler are no longer available in multiple breeds.

Since patch 5.2, any newly learnt Ravens come only in one breed, the #3 B/B. The only way to obtain this pet with other breeds is through trading/AH from players who obtained it before the change. Blizz is aware of this and they might revert all of them in future, but no final decision was stated as of yet.

For the Horde: if your considering rolling a Worgen DK to acquire the raven but would like to know what that entails:

You have to to complete the starting quests for DK, which is roughly all the quests you encounter up to lvl 58. Around 58 you should get a quest from LK to use the portal to Stormwind (in Ebon Hold) and speak to the King of Stormwind. Once you speak to the King, you can then walk around the block and speak to the pet trainer and learn Gilnean Raven.

For me, from start to finish the process took roughly 2 hours. I imagine that's probably a decent guess for the average player.

That said, in my experience at least, you're looking at about 3 hours of grind time to acquire this pet and lvl it to 25 using the method described.

This pet hits like a TRUCK against aquatics! Call Darkness reduces their healing, which makes aquatics less annoying to battle, and Nocturnal Strike has a 100% hit chance when the weather is Darkness, crushing your opponents with a mega hit! One of my favorite pets - he's totally worth making a Worgen for!

Also, if you are a hunter looking for a hunter pet to match, Upland Raven in Kun-Lai matches perfectly. Great for a worgen or undead theme team!

This is a great pet but atm you can still get from Darkmoon Island in more than the B/B. The main diffence is the 2nd and 3rd tier of abilitys. Both have darkness and nocturnal strike but the others might be good if facing pets in which them aren't good against. Against a water pet though you can get a better still.

I have seen a few posts around the internet saying that you can't get S/S breeds of this pet from trainers; Is this still true? Most of those posts were made in early 2013 during patch 5.2. It is patch 5.4.8.18291 now and I was wondering if S/S breeds have been made available again from the pet trainers as Worgen.

I got three ravens on the ah, leveled one for myself and leveled the other two to sell. I just tried caging the two and I can't. How do they get on the ah if you can't cage them?

Don't know if this is another recent change, but my Worgen DK just checked in with SW Pet Trainer Audrey Burnhep and she does NOT offer a Gilnean Raven. Guess Blizz figures you gotta earn it by going through the endless Worgen startup.

I mistakenly put my S/S Gilnean Raven on the auction house. Someone realized my mistake before I did and quickly snatched it up for a cool 2,250 gold.

So disappointed in myself...

Don't be dumb like me. Be sure to check your pet's stats before selling or trading them.

This pet used to fly along side your mount when you took off, but now it only seems to do so rarely when taking off/landing frequently.

What I did was, create a worgen, and then get 3 guildies to summon me to the battle pet trainer in Stormwind.

Bought the pet, deleted my char. Couldn't be easier.

If you roll a Worgen Death Knight in order to buy this pet, here are a few hints:

1. You have to go through the entire DK quest chain (that ends in Stormwind); don't try to take shortcuts, it will only slow you down. Take all quests that are offered to you and complete them. You have to murder yourself through the entire quest chain...

2. Remember that Worgens have natural riding capability, and since you start with your riding skill trained (as a DK), you can use it right away. This will make the first few quests until you acquire your DK mount a bit easier.

3. If you have DPS plate heirlooms, you can use them, but you get nice blue gear really fast during the quest chain, so it doesn't matter much. Don't go out of your way acquiring heirloom gear just for this endeavour.

4. If you have to "kill X of a kind" for a quest, it's advised to pull multiple mobs, apply your diseases to one of them, and then use Blood Boil (which spreads the diseases to the entire pack). Finish off with Death Strike.

5. At some point in the quest chain you have to "interrogate" Scarlet Crusaders by hitting them with quest supplied weapons. This is RNG based and might take a while. Don't forget to get the accompanying quest that asks you to kill a lot of Scarlet Crusaders while you do it.

6. Don't rush through the quest chain if you've never played a Death Knight. It's actually a quite entertaining story. Especially the end.

7. I guess you don't have to do the final quest in the chain (hand the letter to King Wrynn). You are phased in SW and people throw rotten tomatoes at you, but if you go, e.g. to Ironforge or Dun Morough, the folks there don't seem to have received the Death Knight Memo as it seems, and everybody will do business as usual with you. So you can train your Raven there. Or just hand in the letter and get it over with...

so if you already have a worgen, you can train this pet from stormwind as well. Just go the trainer and she sells it to you.

Just confirmed in 7.1.5 that an exalted with Gilneas human cannot buy this pet from Will Larsons in Lor'danel.
However, I was able to acquire it with a worgen.

Fastest way to obtain this (except buying it from AH or get it from friend), is create lvl 100 worgen class trial. Run through tutorial, then you will be put into scenario, cancel that through eye on your minimap and you will be ported to stormwind. Hop on your mount and get your raven. :D Sry for my english.

As of 25/08/2017, only B/B is still being sold at the vendor in Stormwind. I've tried at least five times today (before I read that only one breed was available) to buy at the vendor, and I only got B/B.

If you're looking to pick this up, don't mind a B/B, and don't want to buy it off of the AH - make an alt, if you have an alli with gold use them to send 5s 79c to the new toon, follow this guide (which can be done faster with chauffeur and sea turtle), go to the mailbox in Sentinel Hill (near the inn at 53, 54) to collect your silver, fly to Stormwind, ride to the pet trainer, and buy. It should take under 10 minutes.

Took me 5 minutes to get this

Step 1: Create a lvl 00 class trial Worgan Warrior
Step 2: Complete the 5 minutes of training it ask you to do.
Step 3: Take the gryphon it will land you at Stormwind.
Step 4: Go to the pet vendor Audrey Burnhep Co ords 69.4, 24,4
Step 5: get the pet to train ..learn it ...log out and delete the class trial.

Today I was able to capture this Gilnean Raven (B/B) while I was battling Blighted Squirrel and Infested Bear Cub in Silverpine Forest and Hillsbrad Foothills. It was one of the pets in a battle. I am not sure how often they appear in a battle, but I didn't have use a worgen character to buy it.

Gilnean Raven, along with Crow will have stat changes in BfA by trading increased speed for reduced power. Notably, at max level B/B breed will have 244 power and 309 speed instead of 275 for both, and S/S will have 228 power and 358 speed instead of 260 and 325.

Fastest way to obtain this pet, is to create a class trial Worgen Mage. Teleport to Darnassus, exit Darn into Teldrassil (via the portal on the left as you exit Temple of the Moon,) fly over to Darkshore and buy the pet from Will Larson. You can only purchase 1 pet per character, just delete that class trial and repeat until you're happy

It seems Blizzard removed the Worgen Mage class trial trick. When you teleport to Darkshore, Zidormi no longer provides you with the option of going back in time. She just offers the Sylvanas cinematic.

Sadly, this pet does not fly along with you when you're in the air, as many other pets do. I was looking forward to flying around in my druid flight form with this little beauty, but does't work :(

Don't forget that you can kill two birds with one stone. Make a trial Worgen Druid and do first quests in Legion to access the Order Hall, then upgrade it to 常青 and eventually get 布鲁特 (it may take some days).

How to get in Dragonflight (as Zidormi will no longer let you visit Old Darkshore)

2. Go see Audrey Burnhep in Stormwind at location /way #84 69.4 24.4 Audrey Burnhep
3. Choose "Interested in catching some rare pets?"
4. Select Gilnean Raven and click Train.
5. Profit.

Zidormi DOES take you back to older Darkshore, I don't know what was going on when everyone was saying it doesn't. Will Larson is at 50.1, 20.2 in Lor'Danel. EASY PEASY on your Worgen! My Worgen is level 60.

As of TWW 11.0.2, here is a step-by-step guide on how to get a Gilnean Raven with a one-use trial char in less than 5 minutes:

If you already have three Gilnean Raven in your Pet Journal, log in to any toon and cage (remove) at least one. Log out.
Create a Worgen trial char.
Open the main menu, go to Addons, and select the trial char from the dropdown menu. Disable all addons for this char. We do this because we don’t want any addons to create a new profile for this one-time toon.
Enter the world. You will be placed in the Stormwind Trade District.
Ride to the Dwarven District (northeastern part of the city) until you reach the plaza with the auction house and bank.
Exit the city through the rear portal, just behind the Hero’s Call Board.
Ride down the right stairs and continue along the wall. After about 150 meters you will come to 奥黛丽·伯恩赫普, the pet trainer, standing in front of a large tree.
Talk to her and choose the option “Interested in catching some rare pets?”.
Select the Gilnean Raven and click the Train button. This will add a green B/B raven to your Pet Journal.
Done. Log out and delete the char.
Rinse and repeat, until you have enough Gilnean Raven (the pet is tradable).
