This reminded me too much of the "Playful Vulpin" quest in Shadowlands. But we were already 3/4 of the way through SL before I figured it out. Luckily this "to-do" is no longer on my list. I wrote this macro with much help from others working on macros for the Playfull Vulpin quest. Now it works well with the "Thriving Rock Mouse" also!

This macro will play the sound of your choice but then put a Target on the mouse. I use the green upside-down triangle. You can pick any of the targets of your choice.

I am not a fan of the succubus sound, so I picked a different one from most of the original sounds posted. It's just long enough to make me stop and look.

I want to thank Nylariah for updating my original post and adding the instructions on how to create a macro. Those instructions are perfect.

For anyone new to creating macros, don't worry it's very straightforward.
- Type /macro into the chat window
- Click 'create new'
- Add a title (anything will do, I called mine Vulpin Target)
- Select an icon (Again anything you like)
- Paste the above script into 'Enter Macro Command' box
- Hit Save
- Drag the icon onto your player bar
And you are done, clicking your newly created macro will target the Vulpin if he's nearby; it will also place an arrow above his head and give a voice alert.

This should make some things easier for those out looking for it. I found the trunk the first day the Caverns opened, and the little mouse was sitting right next to the wagon, so I already had my first click of five. When I returned two weeks later to look for the mouse again, I did the macro and got the last four clicks in less than 20 minutes.

While doing this quest, it made me think of the Cat in the Hat book. The mouse is everywhere - the ledge with no bridge to it, under the table where the Glimmeroggs are standing around the table drinking up on the elevated hill (you have to go around the table because he is underneath against the fencing/railing), in the middle of another wagon, and a barrel with no lid.

After I did my first TAR with the macro, I realized the mouse would not be in the small area. I tried standing on the bridge, but that did not work. The minute I was on the ground, the macro found the mouse immediately.
