Looks like the Engineering companion of Vial of the Sands. Even has a very similar icon.

Makes me wonder if Engineering is required to ride it like Gyrocopters, or required to make it, like Vial of the Sands.

Either way, I feel it's safe to say that it will have an expensive and/or rare recipe.

guys the screen shot is a joke btw. this is a toy(npc) im guessing sky claw will look along the lines of mirons head with 4 legs acting as the claw. thats if it even looks like a claw at all lets face it we just dont know.

For engineers patch 5.2 was been a huge disappointment... all three new items removed shortly before the patch went live. I was really excited about a new mount and pet. Now all the living steel I've been saving literally rusts in my bags.

MMO-Champion brings a datamined update today stating that in 5.4 this will now require 30 of "Jard's Peculiar Energy Source" instead of Stabilized Lightning Source. Still no proof of course that Sky Claw will make it in the next patch, and the materials are subject to change.

Considering the name of this item has changed to "Not" Sky Claw and the tooltip contains the infamous Placeholder "PH", it stands to reason this item may never make it to live. It's been said in blue tweets that they may design a different mount altogether as the Sky Claw had lots of bugs.

The bad news for everyone except herbalists: not 2-seater... just an herb picker. (honestly hope they make it a bit more useful in future updates.. I mean my herbalist is a tauren druid, this mount is going to be useless to me on the herb-side of things.)

SKY GOLEM For what its worth I thought I would pass on what info I could as of 7/28/13 8AM EST. I've spent a lot of time searching the net, fan sites, and playing the 5.4 PTR and managed to find a few things out, but none of which is absolute when it goes live.

SKY GOLEM is the craziest of all engineering mounts, imo. Its a ton of fun to fly, swaying back and forth, side to side, barrel rolls w/a turbo boost all while bouncing off anything you get too close to! The Sky Golem transforms into a robot on the ground. You sit atop his chest which is a big, mean goblin head and the whole thing shakes, ratttles, and rolls with all kinds of steam, whistles, buzzing, and so on.

In the Vale of Eternal Blossoms that has been corrupted by the Sha, you (an engineer of either type) can get a drop of Schematic: Chief Engineer Jard's Journal off presumably any mob here. I don't know if it has to be a mob that's corrupted, but I went with that since it seemed logical based on the research I had done. My journal drop was on my 6th kill, so it didn't take long at all.

The journal contained 5 new item recipes:

1) Jard's Peculiar Energy Source ***CAN BE MADE ONCE PER DAY***
2) Sky Golem
3) Pierre
4) Rascal-Bot
5) Advanced Refrigeration Unit

I can't confirm the journal will have all 5 recipes when 5.4 goes live, but it seems to be what most fan site's reader's comments think.

The possible good news about the Sky Golem mount is it at least in PTR it looks like any class can (and did, LOL) have one and is account wide. This I base ONLY on what I saw in PTR. Since there is some potentially pretty nasty bad news, I wonder if Blizz may make it a profession specific mount only.

The possible bad news has to do with the mats which at least for PTR are the following:

1) Quantity 30 of Jard's Peculiar Energy Source ***DAILY CD***
2) Quantity 30 of Living Steel

I only notated the Jard's Peculiar Energy Source as being once per day because I didn't know if any of the other items, both new and old, will or will still have a daily CD. I'm not a pro at this, just trying to help a bit :)

Needless to say, if the numbers and the daily CD is accurate once live it will be a month before we see SKY GOLEMs roaming our lands and skies... and maybe seas too! Further more, it may be even longer before someone is willing to sell theirs as I would expect most engineers would want to keep the first one for themselves. Of course there may be a few people out there like me who have at least 2 engineers that are level 90 and the profession maxed (I wanted to be able to make both new rockets in MoP), who may have one for sale in a month.

I guess its possible that Blizz won't(?) make the Jard's Peculiar Energy Source soulbound so that they can be sold on the AH and in trade chat. That would surely make it one of the hottest & costly mats in trade. Regardless, those with a maxed engineer will have to create and/or come up with a stack of mats and those who don't will have to come up with a much, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH, MUCH BIGGER stack of gold to get one of the first up for grabs!

Hope this helps to answer some questions, gather a few thoughts, and perhaps start planning a strategy to be one of the first to get one of these crazy awesome mounts! Best of luck to all!

Jard's Peculiar Energy Source(30x)
-Ghost Iron Bar(300x)
-Ghost Iron Ore(600x)

Living Steel(30x)
-Ghost Iron Bar(1800x)
-Ghost Iron Ore(3600x)

this comes to a total of Ghost Iron Ore (4200x)- 210 stacks of ghost iron ore (4200/20)

on my realm Ghost Iron Ore is going for about 50-75g a stack and that would lead to this mount costing anywhere from 10,500G-15,750G if you buy straight Ghost Iron Ore and get it transmuted, not including procs

buying straight living steel, (500-750g) you would be looking at about 15,000-22,500G without including the daily CD

all together considering Tips for transmutes (50-100g X30= 1,500-3,000) and the bit of profit an engineer gets from the daily CD i would think this mount would be selling anywhere from 15,000G-30,000G. this will also depend on what realm, how much competition, along side other possibilities.

Tips for buyers: IF you are buying the mount, wait at least 3 months to buy. by then it will be the third wave of mounts coming out ( because it takes 1 month to make) and prices will be more realistic due to more competition

IF YOU ARE SELLING:
if you are selling this mount, make sure to start the bars the first day, and have your mount ready to sell the first day possible. the first day i could see these babies going as high as 100k in some cases, but my advice would be camp the AH and always keep it posted for 10% less then the competition. if you are able to sell it for more than 5K of what you have into it be happy, because i guarantee that you will get a much higher profit margin day one than day 90. if you can only get 20k for it frist day, good luck selling for more than 15k in a month!

Tips on Prep
if you are reading this prior to 5.4, farm Ghost Iron Ore and get an Alch to make it into Trillium Bars for you for free. then just try to get one Living Steel made a day, because they will be near impossible to get in 5.4 and if you do get your hands on one, the price will most likely go up 20-50%

Cool Facts! this mount is not only a flying mount, but you can gather herbs while in this mount at an increased gathering speed. so it is an all purpose mount, and it is good for everyone. and one more thing, when it flies it flies like a superhero horizontal to the ground, and it looks REALLY cool!

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the name of this mount.

When it was first datamined in Patch 5.2, it was called the Sky Claw and the tooltip mentioned a two-seater mount. Since Patch 5.2 is live, visiting this page on our live domain brings up Sky Claw details.

Since this mount is finally obtainable in Patch 5.4, it went through some tweaks on the PTR, including a rename to be the Sky Golem. It's no longer a two-seater mount, but players can herb while mounted. The Sky Golem details appear on our PTR domain and will be on our live page once 5.4 goes live.

Ahhh I feel so happy with myself :) when Mists came out I saved all my "Spirits of Harmony" which totaled out to be 200 :) and being an Alchemist made this a very easy task and had over 2000xGhost Iron Ore I have all my Living Steel ready to go for this mount and just need the Energy Source from the creator...but hey I dont mind spending a little gold for this, but this mount is clearly mine! I guess saving is good. lol

um no longer going to be on that druid tip now in terms of herb gathering, new alch/engy combo gonna have these kitties mad, haha wow i remember when people complained about druids getting instant flight, what's th epoint now when we can pick in our mount?

granted youd have to drop like 500k gold to put these things together, but i mean it takes like 7 seconds to dismount pick and remount, it adds up, man, and i think you'd get a solid investment

Gonna love this mount! You can use it on the ground OR in the air OR underwater. When underwater, it acts like a submarine, i.e., you don't need to come up for air. At least that's how it worked in the PTR. Assuming it'll be the same.

UPDATE: Just confirmed that it does NOT act like a submarine. That is, you will still need to come up for air while using this mount underwater. What a drag.....was hoping it would be the same as in the test realm.

Crafted through 工程学, it will take 30 days to create it. You'll need 30 贾德的特制能量源 and 30 活化钢. (For the 活化钢 Bars you'll need 炼金术 and 采矿 can also come in handy.)

Contrary to its departed cousin Sky Claw (结构图：飞天魔像), 飞天魔像 is a one-person mount.

It is learnt from 结构图：首席工程师贾德的日记, together with 贾德的特制能量源, 皮埃尔, 淘气机器人 and 高级冷柜.

Crafts:

For every 贾德的特制能量源 you need 10 幽冥铁块 (300 total. i.e. 600 幽冥铁矿石) and it's on a daily CD, so you'll need 30 days to craft them all

For 活化钢 you have two different alternatives:

180 延极锭 (daily cooldown, requires alchemy)
90 延极锭90 祥和之灵 (requires alchemy)

And the same goes for 延极锭:

2 黑色延极矿石 (requires2 白色延极矿石 mining)
10 幽冥铁块 (requires alchemy)

So, raw materials:

Option 1:

4200 幽冥铁矿石
30 Alchemy daily coodowns
30 Engineering daily cooldowns

Option 2:

2400 幽冥铁矿石
90 祥和之灵 (on an alchemist)
30 Engineering daily cooldowns

I was thinking "Hmm will i ever be able to afford this mount...?" I figured not, since the range of the price is going around 100-200k on my server. I never had gold like that.. So i got a bit support from my boyfriend and i lvlled Engineering up in only one day from 1-600. Yesterday i was camping at Blazing Way on Timeless Isle for Huolon, when one of those annoying elite Yaungols attacked me. I raged and killed it, and there was my journal! I freaked out, wrote it to broadcast and a bunch of my friends began to ask how much i would make it for :P So, i am unlikely to many others, going to sell the first one, to one of my very good friends for a fair price. The next one will hopefully be finished around December 11th, if i'm able to get all the mats :) I am really looking forward to get my own around January! I know January seems late, and i almost can't wait, but i prefer to get a bit gold out of it, before the price begins to drops, as many people probably want's to get max lvl engineering now.

Today is October 9th, 30 days after the release of 5.4 and 30 days after the release of this mount. After farming what seems like a million ghost iron ore I have completed my Sky Golem, possibly server first, on the first possible day.

To clarify some of the questions around this mount:

1. You can gather herbs while mounted.
2. You can not gather ore while mounted.
3. There is a special gathering animation, similar to goblin shredders.
4. It is not a passenger mount.
5. It is usable at level 20 without flying and will fly once the character has flying training.
6. Unlike some flying mounts this can be used underwater and has a unique swimming animation.
7. There is a Starcraft reference on the control panel.

Overall the whole thing looks like a transformer.

I just crafted and learned today. I have to say I am quite pleased with it. I was a bit concerned from previous comments that the mount would be overly noisy (like Mimeron's Head - which I love but I often mute my game when I am using it). The sounds are at a reasonable level and are quite interesting. The full speed flight animation pitches and yaws quite a bit, but I find zooming out removes any ill effects of watching it fly (unlike the serpent mounts that make me nauseous) and the flying animations are excellent.

One of the best mount efforts I have ever seen all around, quality of animations, sounds, concept and execution. So very glad I took the month to make it, and did not sell it.

It was mentioned in a PTR youtube video that this mount provides the player with underwater breathing - unfortunately, it does not. It was also mentioned in comments here on wowhead during the PTR that it moves flying speed underwater - this is also untrue (on live, anyway). You move at normal, un-mounted swim speed. It still has it's "underwater animation", and the helmet still closes up, though. I was really looking forward to an anytime underwater breathing that didn't require an inventory slot, but, oh well. :)

Bought this today, 80k gold, well worth it! Best mount by far, lovely animations, especially the underwater change to propellers, reminds me of james bond's lotus in spy who loved me when it switched to sub mode :)

Wish we could have proper aerial combat with mounts like this, the pipes on back look just like missiles when flying :)

Made mine while on Timeless Isle and of course it looks great on the ground, very cool animations. I go under water and even it it doesn't have any advantages over other mounts it looks pretty cool.... all a very nice.

But then i leave the isle... and fly... this baby was made to fly!
This is THE mount to have atm, great animations and detail... i don't know what Sky Claw was gonna be but... couldn't be this awesome. Of course apparently Sky Claw was a 2man mount and it would be pretty cool to share the flying experience with people that don't have the Golem.

Now i just need to find the schematic of the Golem's gun and i'm ready to kill some aliens(evil or not)!

Just a couple of minor gripes, I do wish you could mine in this thing since it looks like it could be equipped to do just that, and I kinda wish it allowed for underwater breathing and faster swimming since the dome does close and the propellers do turn when underwater. I guess the herb gathering was to let other classes have something similar to Druid herbing, but still, I can dream. Maybe a future version?

Other than that, this is an AWESOME mount. Amazing animation when running, even MORE amazing when flying, I am SO happy I levelled an Engineer, because this bad boy makes it all worth it.

For herbalist out there, I highly recommend pairing this mount with 劫匪的手套. For all intents and purposes, you become a druid. Herbing is almost instantaneous (around 1.2 seconds), and you do not have to dismount so you can quickly hop from one to another.

It is amazing.

Some thoughts from playing with this mount:

1. As many have pointed out, its flying animation is horizontal. In fact, foldable wings come out his back and he "transforms" into something of a jet plane with boosters at the back like Macross.
2. Even if you try to fly straight, this will swing left and right, and does a barrel roll once in a while. It will, however, correct its course to where you are headed.
3. In non-flight zone, e.g. Timeless Isle, if you do a jump, it closes its hood and hoovers in the air for a while.
4. Worth every penny.

there seems to be some conflicting information going back and forth, and some confusion. so to be crystal clear, this mount is made by an engineer, but once it is made, it can be sold, given to another player, or used yourself. if you decide to keep it and add it to your collection of mounts then ALL of your characters will be able to use this mount as it is account-bound (and your characters do not need to be engineers to use it).

After waiting 30 days to get this mount on my main (engineer) I have to say I'm pleased with it. There are one or two things I'm kinda "Meh" about though.

1. The sound on mounting - redo of the chopper noise anyone?

2. Movement sound is VERY quiet.

3. No underwater breathing. (This was a feature on the PTR)

4. The herbing while mounted is a nice touch but would be better if it were extended to mining and skinning as well.

Apart from those few minor niggles this has to be by far my favorite mount in the game at the moment. The flying animation is awesome and reminds me of Starscream from Transformers! (So much so, I'm tempted to set up a macro for flying in it along the lines of "Starscream Away!" )

If you have an engineer or know a nice one that won't rip you off on cost I highly recommend getting this mount, you won't be sorry you did!

Here is my experience with achieving the Sky Golem.

Jard's Peculiar Energy Source(30x)
→Ghost Iron Bar(300x)
→Ghost Iron Ore(600x) = ~2500g
Living Steel(30x) = ~15700g

Grand Total: ~18200g

Seeing how this mount is selling on the auction house for upwards of 50,000g (or at least on my realm), it definitely has a great resell value. As long as you're not tempted to keep it for yourself, you're sure to make a very decent profit by creating this mount as I did.

This mount is so cool and unique, I think it is a shame that they made it so easy to acquire. This strikes me as something that should be rare/exclusive, or just hard to get in general.

Reminds me of the Vial of the sands. It was such a cool and unique mount at first, but then suddenly everyone and their mother had it and now, let's face it, it just doesn't seem that great anymore.

This mount is absolutely fantastic. I suppose it could be argued that it's really ugly, but it's a good kind of ugly :). It would make more sense as people are pointing out that it could mine instead of pick herbs, it being what it is. And the only little thing that's not to my taste is perhaps it moves too much in the air: the spinning thing is awesome but the regular rocking left and right makes me kind of dizzy, especially if I fly longer route with it.

I think I'm having more fun running and zipping around the Timeless Isle with this mount then I've had with any other in the game, and am really happy I made this for myself right now instead of putting it up for sale, which is something I considered due to the price being what it is at the moment.

This mount seems to be one of the best mounts I have used in the game!

Here are some cool things the Sky Golem has to offer:

1. The Sky Golem has the ability to pick Herbs while mounted, this is a mount feature similar to the druid flight form.
2. It has an special underwater animation where the Sky Golem closes up the cockpit and swims.
3. The Sky Golem has a very unique flight animation to it. Flying the Sky Golem is a complete blast!
4. It has an small picture of Kerrigan (Starcraft 2) inside of the cockpit.

Here are some thing's you should know about the Mount...

It requires level 20 to use as a ground mount, and once the player has Expert Riding it can take off to the sky and fly like a super hero!
The sky Golem is also not a passenger mount. The mount is Bind to Account, so you can use this on all of you're characters.
The Sky Golem requires engineering to make, but it does not require any profession in order to use the mount.

First Mount in World of Warcraft to grab objects without dismounting. But this mount can only grab Herbalism Plants.

I hope that the next mount to grab objects without dismounting will grab Mining Ores.

When i first learned this mount i wanted it for my collection, but when i knew that i could grab Herbs with it, i just grabbed my Farmer Character and started leveling that Profession up, i will have more gold though since i am Alchemy with my main. Almost every expensive elixir/flask uses Golden Lotus, i have a lot of Spirit of Harmony but i can use them for something else, that's why i want a Herbalism.

Get herbalism, equip a 劫匪的手套, mount up the Golem and enjoy the benefits what tauren druids get for herbalism. 0,5 sec herb picking time without dismounting.

One important note: your character must be level eighty to learn this mount, once it's learned however, it can be accessed by lower level alts on the same account.

As others have commented, the mount sways heavily, which can be pretty darned disorienting. Certainly, if there is a 'hard to fly' mount in WoW, this is it.

Why? Because the swaying isn't just the mount moving around a 'center of gravity' or point in space, such as the case with the cloud serpents. Generally speaking, while you will see some clipping with the Sky Golem as it nails trees, if you see it slewing off one direction or another and it smacks into something, it will stop. Thus, your camera, centered behind the mount, is not the true center point for control. It's actually kind of disorienting, and you'll find yourself attempting to anticipate the sways as you navigate narrow spaces.

So: fun mount, but the swaying could be tuned down a bit.

I stayed up late so I could make the last Peculiar Energy Source for my mount after the first 30 days. After my test drive, I'm so glad I chose to make it over the pets first.

It's a great mount which doubles as a submarine (although sadly it doesn't allow underwater breathing). In flight it has a cool side to side motion and does a loop de loop every now and then. The Golem also rotates the top half of its body when stationary.

If you have a few 90's it can be extremely easy to farm this up. All I had to do was use my Farm for Mineral farming, except for my Alchemist who planted the Motes of Harmony. It's was mind numbingly monotonous, but it was easy.

Easy to make IF you have your farm and a 600 alchemist. The daily farm produce from snakeroot seeds will just leave you needing a few mining nodes which are plentiful near the farm. Easy and fun.

One of the worst wow purchases I've ever made. The swaying of this mount is so jarring that if you suffer from any form of motion sickness, this mount will be hell for you. I can't emphasize enough how much swaying this mount does in the air, which makes it a nightmare for farming. Be warned.

I was able to make some testing at BETA for leveling engineering.

Sky Golem or Piere or Rascal Bot all turns yellow at 605 skill level (so no more +5 level).

Retinal google was yellow until 610 and turned green so there is no cheap way to go over 611 with MOP mats.

PS: You can try making lots of thermal anvil thou.

Idk if im wrong but i strongly saw a diference bewteen flyng high near a mountains (like blades edge mountains) with a lots of obstacles the "loop and boost" efect appears a lot more than flyng in open spaces, and indeed it helped a lot to dodge with the "like a boss" face (sory my english idk if im talking like cave man but i liked to share this with u ppl) saludos!

Just saying something, on my server it sells for 22k on buyout. Since I am Asian i decided to do some math on selling this mount. Since it costs 4200 ghost iron ore i looked up how much ghost iron ore sells for on buyout. I found that it costed 468 gold. Doing 468 * 3 i found the total cost for 600 ghost iron ore to make 300 ghost iron bars which make 30 Jard's Peculiar Energy Source costs 1,404 gold. Then I did Living Steel Ghost Iron Ore cost which is 8,424 Gold for 3,600 Ghost Iron Ore which goes into 1,800 Ghost Iron Bars which finally make 30 Living Steel. Adding both 8,424 and 1,404 I found the total cost to be 9,828 gold. By doing 22,000 - 9,828 i found the total profit to be 12,172 gold which is pretty nice. However, something seemed off so i did some more research and found out that the cost for 30 Living Steel on my server was 6,570 which is cheaper than buying the 3,600 Ghost Iron Ore which costed 8,424 Gold. Doing the math agian on adding 6.570 and 1,404, it came out to be a 7,974 total cost which is less than our original cost. By doing 22,000 - 7.974, we can get a 14,026 profit by waiting 30 days (plus a few extra days on waiting for it to sell and daily cool down on Jard's Peculiar Energy Source). 30 days which equal 4 weeks can estimate up to 12k gold in profit (if you earned 3k per week by raiding and garrison). So with the 14,026 and the 12k (estimated) profit you can earn up to 26,026 gold in 1 month which is half of what a wow token costs (if I am not mistaken it is more than half). I just wanted to share this with you all. Thank you for reading.

I finally managed to make one and sent it to my main to learn ('cause why not) but on opening my mount list, couldn't find it anywhere, even with search.

Went back to the engineer and found it, also faved it. When I logged onto my main, I found it. I don't know if it was the logging or faving it, but there you have it. So if you run into the same situation, don't panic; it is in your list, it just hasn't updated yet for whatever reason.

In any zone that does not allow flying, this mount is superior to Druid, since his ground travel form currently can't reach epic ground mount speeds.

EDIT:
After patch 7.1 Druid ground travel form once again reaches 200% movement speed when activated out of combat. However, unlike in-combat travel form, it currently does not benefit from any movement speed increases (like 完美的梦境林地花蕾), nor it benefits from 探路者 since shapeshifts are not considered mounts. So for people with 探路者 Sky Golem is still faster. On the other hand, speed difference is much smaller now so depending on preferences and talent choices, travel form is pretty valid choice for herbing as Druid.

EDIT2:
In BfA, local pathfinder does affect travel form, making it actually superior choice for non-Guardian specced druids, since Daze will not remove travel form. We shall see how things change in next expansion.

Since I started using my Sky Golem, I haven't seen a single Withered Hungerer from Starlight Rose. Can there be a bug that they don't spawn if you pick the herb while mounted? I tried switching to a normal mount, and after about 10 herbs, I got a withered. Anyone else experienced this?

As of today the U.S. median price for this bad boy is just over 100K shooting up 250% since the launch of Legion. I had 3 sitting in my bank and decided to sell them. They sold for 100K each by the nights end lol geezus.

7 of my toons have the ability to make them so I've been making Jards cooldown everyday. If you want to get rich and have maxed out toons, you sell Sky Golem. The extra million or 2 people returning to WOW (not counting the newbies) after years of hiatus are wanting one and since it takes 30 days to make one, they're in BIG demand again. I bought mine for 10k during the content drought in MOP. Now they're 100K lol

If you are savvy Living Steel, Ghost Iron and Trillium won't be hard to come by. Plenty of ways to get this stuff cheap now.

Now, selling one will fund your wow addiction for 3 months free thanks to tokens. Takes 5 minutes a day to do the cooldown.

If anyone is interested in a good money making venture, power level some toons in engineering and start knocking out them cooldowns!

Some of the sounds used by the Sky Golem get annoying to me after a bit. I just don't want to lower the volume on the whole game to silence this mount. So, if you're like me and looking to modify or mute some or all of the sounds used by your Sky Golem, here is a list of all the OGG files found in the file path associated with it. Some may be used for other things, but the sounds you may want to modify on the Sky Golem are among these.

To mute some or all of these, just create a blank text document, and rename it and its actual txt file extension, to any or all of the named .ogg files listed below. If you're a novice Windows user, file extensions may be hidden. You may end up just changing the name of your new text document to "GoblinShredderLoop.ogg" and the reality is you have the file "GoblinShredderLoop.ogg.txt". This won't work to mute the sound. Just Google "How to show file name extensions in windows explorer" follow those instructions and make sure file extensions are shown.

You can also get a real Silence.ogg file here.
Make a bunch of copies of it, and change the names to match those listed below.

Next you need to know where you installed your World of Warcraft game on your computer.
Create a folder in the World of Warcraft game folder and name it "Sound". (This folder is not there by default. It can be there already if you've modified other game sounds before.)
Inside the Sound folder, create another folder called "creature".
Inside the creature folder, create another folder called "GoblinShredder".
When you're done the file path should read..

This is just the best mount ive had so far - the way it flies, it moves around when moving, it makes it just so much more fascinating to look at while flying around. Blizzard should really keep thinking these things into their mounts. The way the Pandaria Dragons also move where good, but nothing really special, this is special!

After finding out how much work it is to make one - Jard's Peculiar Energy Source can only be made once a day and you need 30, and same with Living Steel and you need 30 - I'm astounded at the low prices on the auctions. 30 days to make ONE and people only getting 70K is CRAZY. I bought out the three I saw and have no doubt I will double or triple my money, they are being sold way too cheap with all the huge gold being made these days in the game.

Concerning the Sky Golem in Legion:
The Sky Golem does not inhibit Herb Procs (Withered, Foxes, Nightmare Creepers, etc.) or chances of Herbalism Rank Quest items. However, it does seem to have a bug concerning the Rank 3 Aethril Proc (Gathering Herbs in the Broken Isles has a chance of spawning additional Herbs). If you attempt to collect an herb that will proc additional herbs while on the Sky Golem, the game will give a red "Invalid Target" Message, the original herb will despawn without any loot and will not spawn additional plants. I have only had the time to test this with Dreamleaf and Foxlower, so I will have to test the other Herbs before I'm certain.
Otherwise, the Sky Golem seems to be working as intended. Happy gathering!
Edit: Had a Frenzied Fox and a Copy Herb proc at the same time while Gathering Foxflowers on the Sky Golem. Thought it would be worth mentioning as an outlier.

Side note: When doing the 捕捉螃蟹 cooking quest in Stormwind, my gnome warlock was able to stomp around in the canals at regular ground speed (because she was tall enough in the golem, as it is with many mounts in the "water" in Undercity). No swimmy-slow-down!

anyone ever thought about forming unions on wow? or do you all wish to continue selling things for such low prices that you barely make any gold..and in all actuality, creating this thing and selling it for 90k..is a profit loss of about 30k (based on time taken away from other sources of gold farming to make this thing)..

are we going to be serious about playing this game? or are we going to be children who just toss something up on the auction house and put the price at whatever we feel like?

it's getting tiring tbh.
in all honesty, blizzard should make it so ppl have to join unions of workers (a blacksmiths guild, engineers guild etc) in order to even post stuff on the ah. that would be a much better system than this

o spend 2 hours a day, instead of making 5k gold in those two hours i will farm matts for this mount. i will than be out 5k gold a day, just to make a 90k mount..and my total profits will be -110k gold YIPEE

in what world does this make sense?

like..seriously..saw someone today selling Jade Panther for 15k gold... come on people. do you not understand what happens when stuff like this goes down? it may just be a game, but the laws of economics actually apply to it..and to be quite frank people like that our destroying the wow economy.

I thought gathering was personal? Sorry only been playing a few months.
Guy in Tiragarde sound running up to the same nodes as me and each time the node would completely disappear after he hit it with his golem.

Hello all, I was wondering if the engineering requirement to get the recipe to drop was now the max pandarian engineering (75)? Or is it higher, into another xpac? Couldn't find the info through searching, so I appreciate the help. Thanks!

It seems that drop rate for Sky Golem schematic is nerfed now (in BfA). It took me to kill about 80 creatures before I got it. I did this on two chars, and on both it was similar. I suspect that current drop rate is about 1%.

unless you have a herbalist that isn't a druid (and why wouldn't you?) this mount is useless. more than useless due to not being able to use mount equipment. add to that the 30 days to make the energy sources that are soulbound for further insult. i made one and am sorely disappointed. unless your doing the mount achievement i would suggest avoiding it. even then i am sure there are others that could replace it.

this is just my opinion though.

Due to data mining occlusion effort by Blizzard in patch 8.2, muting sound files by adding your own ogg files no longer works.

You can however, create your own addon to mute it.

First open a blank text file using Notepad in windows or any basic text editor you may have.
Copy and paste the following code in to it, and save it as MuteSounds.TOC

Note: Make certain TOC is the file extension, and not TXT. You may need to Google how to view file extensions in windows, if your file extensions are hidden from view.

Next create a new addon folder inside your "C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns" folder. Name this folder "MuteSounds".
The file path to your World of Warcraft installation may differ from the example above.

Then copy and paste both of the files you created, MuteSounds.TOC & GoblinShredder.LUA, into this new MuteSounds folder.

Lastly start up the game and enjoy the silence.

This addon should be enabled by default unless you're creating this beyond patch 8.3.x. In which case you will need to update the Interface# in the TOC file, from 80300 to whatever the current number may be.

Find this number by running WoW, and at the login screen you'll see the Version number at the bottom left corner. Then convert it to the interface number.
For example, game version 8.0.0 was interface# 80000, 8.1.0 (a major patch) was 80100, 8.1.2 (a minor patch to 8.1) was 80102, and so on.
The version# in the TOC is just a note in game, you can update that as well if you like.

You can also create your own LUA files to mute other game sounds. for example...
Make another LUA file, but this time you might name it TigerJowls.LUA (You know.. that yawning, jowl shaking sound your cat mount or hunter cat pet makes?) Paste the following code inside. Then save it in the MuteSounds folder along with your other LUA file.

You may be wondering how to find the number associated with each sound in the game. Well you can find the FD ID# for each sound at the "WoW.Tools" website. Select "Files" at the top to browse, search and even listen to every sound in the game. This way you can find those sounds that annoy you, and make your own LUA to add to the list.

Do there is a item where i'm not forced to take everytime this mount in the world? its really boring after several xpac to always have no choice to mount sky golem if you are herbalism? (i speak for shadowland)

Its not that I hate the visuals, but they are not really in my top 10. So I made myself the following rules for my herbalism chars:

- if you farm herbs for longer, use your druid.
- if you queue for a dungeon, use this mount
- if you are just questing like world quests, use your current favourite mount

Especially the older an addon gets, the less worth do herbs have. So if you are one of these guys and girls who get annoyed of this mount the more you use it, but are conflicted because of its convenience, you may try my hints. :D Of course you will lose some seconds, but as long as you dont farm for a longer time, it wont result into too much.

With the release of patch 9.1 it's now possible to fly in Shadowlands zones, therefore the optimal ways to pick herbs now are:

- Using a Tauren Druid, due to 栽培 and 飞行形态 (picking herbs doesn't take you out of Flight Form)

- Using a Death Knight with 死神降临 or Paladins with 十字军光环 and this mount 飞天魔像

You need to farm 140 Ghost Iron Ore daily for this mount.

Jard's Peculiar Energy Source = 10 Ghost Iron Bar = 20 Ghost Iron Ore

Living Steel = 6 Trillium Bar = 60 Ghost Iron Bar = 120 Ghost Iron Ore

Don't forget to put your Mist-Piercing Goggles on!

I realize that this would probably be a pain in the ass to implement software-wise, but I really wish that this mount and 机械化木材采集器 would allow you to collect quest objectives/resources that look like herbs/plants, but are not classified as such in the game code. It feels like a lost opportunity whenever I'm using this mount, go to pick up such a resource, and end up dismounting.
