Does anyone can confirm that the Red clothes are only for Alliance-Tailors? Because I so much want to have the red one, and only got the pattern for the green Clothes. And also did to this moment have not seen one Horde player wearing the red ones.

Unsure if this is random. I have three tailors, two which are 375. I did not get the pattern on any of them. Two guildmates received the pattern. Others did not. So not really sure how this is working. As a note I did get the Winter Boots on my Leatherworker, however no cooking recipes as of yet.

My level 25 Troll Priest with 201 tailoring got the green version of this, but across all the many servers I have alts on, for both factions, she was the only one to get it, and she is not my highest level tailor - in character level nor tailoring skill.

Seems to be completely random.

Good news ! You're supposed to get new patterns like directly in your mail from Great Father Winter himself. Bad news, nobody exactly knows how to get them.

We're currently investigating this matter—quite avidly, to be brutally honest—and hope to reach a solid answer shortly; until then, we will be unable to directly assist any players who have not yet received Winter Veil patterns or recipes, as we must establish baseline requisites before providing such items to the public.

Once more, you have my most sincere apologies for leading you astray; nonetheless, our intent has not changed—we still wish to ensure that all those deserving of these patterns and recipes acquire them—though our method of "attack" has altered slightly for the time being.

This pattern is available via the Smokeywood Pastures vendor in Ironforge (possibly other major cities too), along with the boots pattern and the cider recipe. The pattern is bind on pickup.

Been waiting and plotting since they moved the patterns from mail to vendor (because not all players got the pattern in mail like intended). And indeed it's possible to buy the pattern meant for the other faction... It's a bit tricky, my lvl 37 warlock had about 1.5 second to resurrect, open the npc dialog and buy the pattern. But now I can make both green & red winter clothes :P.

If you dare try this, be sure to memorize the location of the pattern in the npc dialog. (bottom right at the moment) You might only have half a second left when the npc dialog appears before the guards get you. (don't know if high level chars have more time).
And remember: the pattern is 'bind on pickup' so you must get it with the char on which you want to craft the item.

yup, very possible. i did it on a 15 warlock fairly easily, the only problem is running all the way. and ya, make sure you know that the pattern is the bottom right one when you open up the vendor window, had a 70 shaman and rogue just take out the gate for me, put on the christmas suit as a "disguise" lol and the rogue sapped his way through with the shaman taking the other ones for me. i got to the vendor and died, then ressed at his feet and bought it before i got one shot, spirit ressed, and hearthed back to silvermoon =]. hopefully these will sell for quite a bit

Very possible but also very annoying. I must've died 15 different times trying to get it just right. Even then I had to sacrifice the VW for the shield to get enough time. The NPC that sells them now has quest and goods, so you have to click on the I'd like to browse your goods button, which takes up time.
I'd recommend going as a group. But I was so happy when I finished getting this, so I think it was very worth it.

Anybody know if the Ironforge vendor is still neutral (i.e., can Horde still buy it)? I just rezzed my naked Horde char in front of the vendor, had my cursor over him for 3 seconds, but it never changed to the buy cursor before the guards killed me. Checked him on my Ally toon, he shows as green to her, not yellow for neutral.

Just grabbed this on my mage. It is indeed available to Horde. Make sure you know where you are clicking when you open the trade window.

My strategy was to just run right to the wagon with the goblins and iceblock. Looked for Christmas lights on a wagon, saw a group of Alliance and then iceblocked right in the middle. I had a good 10 seconds in my iceblock to browse the vendor. If you are a mage that's going for this don't hesitate to iceblock for some extra time. You are still able to chat with the vendor.

Confirmed Hode can buy in Ironforge off of Wulmart who is just a little right of the bank under the canopy.

The item is located on the bottom right hand corner of the first page for 50 silver.

At level 70 expect 3-5 lvl 75 guards to attack you instantly once you rez hitting for around 800 on cloth, of course there will also be alliance there too. If things go well you can do this in two deaths, the first being about 20 yards from the vendor by mounting and running in, the second death after purchasing item hopefully.

Mages can iceblock and purchase as mentioned by others and priests should have enough time to get one power word shield on before dying.

Good luck, was a lot easier than I expected and worth the trip in my opinion.

I just got this. Used the goblin transporter in Gnomergan. Went to IF and ran in. Very few guards chased me and thankfully none of them dazed me. The vendor is just to the right of the bank, the pattern is in the bottom right slot.

Got it then ran back out wihtout anybody being able to stop me. Hearthed and Tada !
Maybe I just got lucky :P

Got this very easily as Blood Elf Mage. Came into IF through the tram, used invisibility right out of tram and to the military district, then mounted up until I got to the vendor, ice blocked, clicked through, and bought the pattern. I did not make it out of IF alive, though; got stunned by a rogue. Your mileage may vary but it's not that hard to do, just make sure you know where you are going!

I too just got this so it really isn't that hard. Using my 70 lock, I rode past the IF guards and bee-lined for the merchant. Sure the guards are level 75. Sure once they caught me they beat the hell out of me quick. But, before you rez, if you stand on the back of the wagon (the side nearest to the wall) and move your camera around so that you can see the merchant, you should be able to buy the recipe before dying again. It took me several attempts to finally realize this trick. I only had to try it once. I actually almost had enough time to HS out but I died again. Total cost, about 14 gold. Repairs being 13.5 of it...Note to all, go naked and save some coin!

I purchased this recipe with ease as a level 25 naked undead priest. I ended up dying probably 10 times to get to the vendor and purchase, but it really wasn't that hard to get it.

After these comments I decided to go and get the pattern.
A friend of me came along (lvl 62 hunter, I'm 71 shaman) and we ran in like crazy kamikaze's and while we pulled all of the guards I died near the bridge.
I ressurected (got to love a shaman) while my friend was now followed by the guards and walking out of IF, and I jumped on my mount again and ran to the vendor. I bought the pattern and it took a few seconds for the alliance players that where walking around there to see I was a horde.

We had too much fun doing this, maybe I'll give it another try to get more patterns!

If your a lvl 80 horde rogue or druid, its not hard,stealth up the mountain avoid the guards and quickly buy the pattern, its the alliance actually that killed me...

This pattern is only available during the Feast of Winter Veil each year.
Alliance characters will receive this pattern in their mailbox for every alliance character that has tailoring as a profession - it will arrive on the first day of the Winter's Veil event and the sender is Greatfather Winter himself.
Alliance tailors can also purchase this pattern from:
- 霍勒 in Stormwind City
- 沃尔格雷·吉波克 in The Exodar
- 乌莫尔特 in Ironforge
- Horde tailors can ONLY obtain this pattern by being bold and visiting:
  
  霍勒 in Stormwind City; or
- 乌莫尔特 in Ironforge (沃尔格雷·吉波克 in The Exodar will not interact with you except to try to kill you!)
- If you do not have a tailor, you can simply commission one to make the 红色冬衣 for you or hit your local AH.

I flew into Ironforge yesterday and got the recipe. Managed to get to the vendor, spam click & got killed on my way out while cheering :D I thought this mission would make my repiar bill increase but i was happily suprised. Good luck fellow Horde Tailors. :) PS Great money maker.

OK, learn from me and my mistakes. :-)

lvl 70 Forsaken lock, only have Burning Crusade installed at the moment, so my lvl's maxed out, and I can't fly up to the vendor. And I *still* got the recipe. :-)

I guess the real "trick" is, if you're having no luck trying to get this recipe from the vendors in one of the Alliance Cities, try one of the others in a different city. Went through about 400 gold in repairs over 4 days of trying to get it from the Smokywood Vendor in Ironforge (about 3 or so hours a day before I'd finally get too aggravated to keep trying). LOTS of overlapping air-borne and walking patrols, pretty much impossible for a 70 to rez anywhere near the vendor before getting 1-shotted.

Also found out that (at least in Ironforge), even if I waited out all the air-borne and ground pats till they were away from the vendor, a non-elite 85 guard would spawn about 10 ft. away as I was rezzing, and then *he* would 1-shot me before I could talk with the vendor.
(note: this wasn't someone I overlooked, I *saw* him spawn in the open floorspace between the Smokywood vendors and Greatfather. Walks a pat mostly near Greatfather, in easy aggro range of the Smokywood vendors, despawns after 5 mins.)

After a few days of getting nowhere with the idea, I figured I'd at least get the cheev for caroling in the Alli's cities. Rezzed one last time in IF, got that part of the cheev, then went to SW, Darnassus, and then the boat to Exodar. Wanted an audience for my cheeves :-), easy to do in SW, not so easy to find an audience in the other Alli cities on my realm (Mal'Ganis, less than 10% Alliance population). Darnassus was a ghost town. Got the cheev, corpse-ran my way to the boat to Exodar. Also a ghost town.

Was corpse-running my way thru Exodar hoping to find an audience, working my way toward the Seat of the Naaru at 15 or so feet at a time :-). Found no audience, but I did find the Smokywood Vendors there. :-)

Figured I'd try one last time to get the recipe and see if my luck was any better here in the Exodar. Found out there was no mystery guard rezzing with me, I was aggro'ing only 1 regular guard when i rezzed, figured out which one, tried my best to position away from him as I was rez'ing. On the 5th attempt, finally survived long enough to grap the recipe. :-)

YMMV, but this is what happened to me.

Just got this on my Horde char, so i can confirm that it is posible to get it, not easy because of all the guards, but it can be done if you can buy from vendor fast, because 10 guards will do there best to kill you, dont worry about killing them, just buy fromvendor and let them kill you :D

I got this recipe for my Blood Elf Death Knight by waiting until the wee hours of the morning so there wouldn't be many other players online, then flew into Iron Forge and right up to the vendor. Had just enough time to buy the recipe before she was killed by guards and the few players who were there. But it didn't matter; I had accomplished my goal.

I had originally planned to have one of my Alliance toons buy it, then place it on the AH down in Booty Bay. But alas, the recipe is BoP (Bind on Pickup).

I already have about twenty of these made and ready to sell when the Feast of Winter Veil gets here.

If alliance can get the green in Shat. The horde should also get the red in shat. OR at least Dal. I mean this is completely unfair to the horde tailors. If you want to go in and die multiple times for a tailoring outfit. So be it. But to be fair to both races. Should have it available to both races in a neutral zone.

As a Horde wanting to get my hands on this pattern, I found that Ironforge was swarming with too many Alliance to be feasible due to CRZ. In fact, there were more people around the IF vendor than in my realm's SW! However, if you really hate taking rez sickness like I do, I think that the Exodar is the easiest place to obtain the pattern in spite of the lack of flying mounts due to the lack of max level players. Run in naked so you don't have to pay gold for repairs, but keep all of your pieces that do not have durability on so you at least can withstand the guards (which don't hit as hard as the Ammen Vale ones). I was able to buy the pattern in one shot: rode in past the guards, popped defensive CDs, spoke to the vendor, died when the deed was done. This year, the pattern is on the first slot of the second page. Getting out was not much of an issue either: if you can rez in the hallway on the way into Seat of the Naaru (the way you came in), there are no guards in there and you can safely hearth out. It only took one corpse run to accomplish this as a warlock with Dark Bargain so it might take two for other classes, but this is nowhere near as bad as 探索秘蓝岛. Hope this helped a fellow member of the Horde :)

Found a quick easy way to get this pattern as a Horde. Well, easy for hunters anyway-or if you have a spell to keep you from dying when you fall.

I positioned myself as high as I could get above Stormwind on the coords. given for Kohle Jinglepocket (62,70). I dismounted and fell into the Trade District, but hit Disengage before I hit the ground so I didn't die. Ran right up to him, bought the pattern and got all the way into the Gryphon Loft before I got killed. I just rezzed at the graveyard- the rez sickness and stuff was totally worth it. Ilevel 536 with 529k health helps too. :) Good Luck!

If you are a Horde Tailor and would like to acquire this "Binds when picked up" pattern, I found it easiest to make the attempt in Ironforge. The vendor in Ironforge is neutral, so both Alliance and Horde can purchase from him. This means that the trick for a Horde character is getting to the item in time, and the Pattern: Red Winter Clothes is on the second page of Wulmort Jinglepocket's wares. At level 90, or if you are there in a raid group, it shouldn't be too much trouble, but if you have a weak, or low level character, buying the pattern before getting nailed by the Ironforge Guards can be very frustrating when attempting to purchase it solo. The solution of using a macro was provided on the World of Warcraft Forums by Urashima. Simply create this macro:

/run BuyMerchantItem(11,1)

This will buy 1 of the 11th item, the 1st item on 2nd page, which happens to be Pattern: Red Winter Clothes. Once you've created the macro and assigned it to an action bar slot, simply right click on the vendor and hit the macro in your action bar. I was able to make this work with a level 70 Blood Elf Priest, albeit it took a few deaths to get him to the vendor.

There is a Red winter cloth White and Green version. The Green one is transmogable. To get this one you can create it with tailoring or buy it from the action house.
If you, like me, had the old version (the white red winter clothes) you have to buy or make them again. Old ones won't work. Only the new ones who you can buy/make since the Winter veil 2017.

This also applies to the Green winter clothes.

If you are trying to get this as Horde I HIGHLY suggest you use an auto-purchasing addon. I use EMA for multiboxing, and it has an option to automatically buy things.

So I added a link from Wowhead to EMA and told it to autobuy this pattern to a stock of 1. I was 20 levels below the guards so i knew I would not be able to take more than 2 hits at most. I flew in, opened the purchase window with the vendor and BANG It automatically bought the pattern half a second before I died from the guards.

Mission accomplished! :D
