I wonder if they will be adding new mechanical animals that this works on or will it allow you to tame any mech? And if it would allow you to tame any mech can you tame bosses like Big XT in Ulduar or the Flame Leviathan (if you could even have enough time to channel with it bearing down on you) or the Foe Reaper in Deadmines. I would want to find the suitable mecha gnome and have my own fighing Jeeves or a Crowd Pummeler bodyguard.

I hope you can only tame mech animals. I don't think it will fit the class if we can tame harvest golems and fel reavers.

This item will be craftable by engis, to enable mech taming for non-Goblins/Gnomes.

The pets you tame thanks to this item (or thanks to your race) are fed with "Engineering bits", so stock up on nuts and bolts.

I can't imagine injecting most of our Hunters with untested and likely imperfect nanite tech would be the wisest choose, but, oh! the pet possibilities.

I can only hope they do something similar for undead, some day, so I can finally fulfill my dream of having a tamed mini 哈卡的化身, along with my new baby 骨蛇. (出土的化石 are in the game, they're just not tameable, though they ARE skinnable, oddly enough.)
We can already tame the various "undead" eagles, e.g. 天灾裂食鸟, horribly deaseased or dead and ghostly wolves and bears, etc. They're seemingly even naming a talent after Dark Rangers.

Harvester would make an awesome mech-pet! Just head over to Westfall. Gnomes and Goblins get to use them as a mount. WOOT! (they should anyway) . . . OR you can just tame your Mechano Strider, lol.

机械联结烙印矩阵 is an item craftable by Engineers. It is consumed on use, and doing so permanently unlocks the ability for a 猎人 to tame a mechanical pet!

Note that 地精 and 侏儒 hunters will automatically have the ability to tame mechanical pets without using this item. All other races require the Imprint Matrix to unlock the ability.

Some notes on Mechanical (and other) 猎人 pets in Legion:

A total of 4 NEW pet families will be tameable in Legion - Scalehides, Mana Sabers, Oxen, and Mechanicals.
Some of the new Mechanical pets will be challenge tames, meaning that they will require some skills and certain mechanics to be able to obtain them.
The Mechanical pet are not "exotic" pets, and as such ALL THREE specs can tame them.

Some tameable Mechanical pets include:

This pattern is available from the vendor 苏伊奥斯 in Dalaran for 1 古怪硬币.

苏伊奥斯 is located in Dalaran at . He can be found tucked away outside and on the left side of the Bank of Dalaran towards the back of the building (between the bank and the Antonidas Memorial).

This vendor is a reference to the online FPS game Destiny, as are many of his items (英格拉姆的谜题, 迦拉尔之“角”, 圣光微粒).

苏伊奥斯 has two types of inventory items; some items are fixed, and are always available, but ONE item each day is a variable, randomly rotating item that will change from day to day!

Fixed Inventory

These items can be purchased from 苏伊奥斯 at any time.

Variable Inventory

ONE of the following items will appear on 苏伊奥斯' inventory each day. Each day a random item appears, and therefore if you are looking for something specific, you need to check back daily.

These variable items include a variety of faction-specific bags that require Exalted with respective factions to purchase.

At present, 古怪硬币 is a random drop from a number of sources.
Some confirmed sources include:

Emissary cache, from completing 4 World Quests
Treasure chests in the Broken Isles
Mythic+ Challenger's Cache
Heroic and Mythic dungeon bosses
Rare spawns in the Broken Isles

As a note, this is NOT available in the Legion prepatch (7.0.3), as there is no way to access "New Dalaran" in order to buy the pattern or create the item until Legion officially launches. Gnome/goblin hunters are the only hunters who can tame mechanicals by default.

Tonight I changed my Goblin Hunter into an Orc. She was still able to summon a Mechanical Pet (Rush) that she'd tamed long before the Race Change, and I did not need to obtain or use a Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix.

Though I know I made and learned this already, there seems to be no way to see you have it already applied, unless I'm missing something. Just tamed Treble, but after the tame completed, he vanished, not in my pets, not on the path anymore, just gone. Sad dwarf :(

Edit: turned out to be a talent issue. Switched out from lone hunter talent, took him easily inside 2 minutes.

There is no level limit to use this item. As long as you can pick one up (or get one made), and are high enough level to tame pets, you can use this on your hunter and tame mechanicals.

I just used this item and I didn't recieve any kind of new ability whatsoever. I tried to relog but I still don't see a track mechanical in my tracking list

I haven't seen this mentioned, but does anyone know if you can make this and sell it on the AH? I ask because I have never seen one on the AH, and I'm always looking.

I noticed when I made mine to use for myself, it didn't say "soulbound" (as you see in the picture above), but I would hate to make another one to sell, using all the reagents (especially blood of sargeras) only to have some darn message pop up saying this cannot be sold.... or something like that. Thanks!

Wondering if anyone can help me out here...I have a max level Engineer who I can create this on but he is Horde and my hunter is Alliance and 82...when I try and mail the item it says the target is unfriendly. Is there is any way to get this item cross-faction?

I just tried to tame another Juggernaut in Siege of Orgrimmar and it won't let me. It says this creature is too high level. Huh? I've tamed 2 other ones no problem. The other times I was level 110. Now I'm 113. Could that be why? Can they not be tamed past level 110?

A very big shame is that these mechanical pets have the worst spell. Defense increase.
This makes them the worst in comparison to pets that can slow, reduce healing or purge the target.

Hiyas, got a green mech on this quest with an alliance Nightelf, it seems the same colour mech keeps turning up every technician kill, maybe after reset you can get different colours. Bought the Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix on AH for 8k gold.

List of all the taming tomes for 猎人s:

杂交野兽之书 is sold by 善良的潘 in Trueshot Lodge for 1000 职业大厅资源. You need to have completed your class Order Campaign in order to buy this. Your hunter alts can buy it without having to re-do the campaign.
浸血的黑暗低语宝典 drops from 祖尔 in 奥迪尔 on either Normal, Heroic or Mythic difficulty. It unlocks the taming ability for your other hunter(s) on your account.
远古驯龙秘典 drops from the 赞达拉恐龙统领s on 巨兽岛. This is not account-wide, you will have to farm it again if you want it on your other hunter alts. 赞达拉巨魔 hunters do not need this tome to tame Direhorns.
驯龙入门 is sold by 飒安·红鳞 to players Exalted with the 云端翔龙骑士团. The tome can be used by any classes with the reputation and will unlock the taming ability for your other hunter(s) on your account.
骨缚简书 is a world drop obtainable from elites in 玛卓克萨斯 and 凋魂之殇. It unlocks the taming ability for your other hunter(s) on your account. 亡灵 hunters do not need this tome to tame Undead beasts.
机械联结烙印矩阵 is crafted by engineers with the 结构图：机械联结烙印矩阵, which is sold by 苏伊奥斯 for 1 古怪硬币. The schematic is BoP, but the tome can be bought and sold at the auction house. It doesn't unlock account-wide for your hunter alts. 侏儒, 地精 and 机械侏儒 hunters dot not need this tome to tame Mechanical beasts.
加尔贡训练手册 drops from 狩猎大师佩特鲁斯 in 雷文德斯. It unlocks the taming ability for your other hunter(s) on your account.
驯服奥獭 is rewarded from the quest 趁热打铁. The questline can be started when you reach Renown 11 with the 伊斯卡拉海象人. It unlocks the taming ability for your other hunter(s) on your account.
《龙类驯服手册》 can be obtained from 凯斯塔兹 after reaching Renown 23 with the 瓦德拉肯联军. Seems like it has to be your hunter that needs the reputation to obtain it, and cannot be obtained by another class. Unknown if it unlocks the ability to tame Dragonkins for your other hunter(s).

There are so many tomes now that if you have multiple hunter toons (like I do), and/or if you have taken/are prone to taking a hiatus from WoW (like I am), you may lose track of which toons have learned which tomes (like I have)...

Hey all.

I'm having an issue where my lvl 73 Marksmen Orc Hunter was able to buy the tome, learn it but when I tried to tame that Mechnical Sheep in Alliance terrority it said I did not have the lore to tame this type of beast.

Seems like a bug. I wanted to check here to see if anyone else has experienced this issue. I did put a ticket in

Do I have to be Beast Mastery in order to tame mechnicals? What am I missing? I put time and effort into getting the Curious Coin and it feels like it's wasted if I can't get what I want.

Goes for an absurd 25k on the auction house. Hopefully someone in my guild can make it, but I don't really care about mechanical pets anyway (besides on my mechagnome who I don't really play and already has this ability by default), so I'll put this on the backburner along with the Zul drop for the world's ugliest pet category.

They really have to overcomplicate new pets with long grinds or expensive b.s., don't they? Anything to keep those sub numbers inflated, I guess. I play Druids less than I've played Hunters over the years and I still found it more interesting to unlock the Druid forms than I did these stupid tomes.
