Upperdeck Entertainment (UDE) have released a statement that this tabard as well as the will be available for purchase from October 1st 2008. This will make a total of 7 epic tabards available from the UDE points store. The cost in UDE points will be 2000, the same as the existing . This concludes the introduction of 6 new tabards that were promised by UDE.

How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
According to http://www.wowtcgloot.com/tabard_of_the_defender.htm (most information sourced from there), the average price for the tabard is around $10USD.

Just got the tabard, you can only only redeem the code for 1 tabard, for 1 character (toon).

Keep in mind that tabards obtained through Redemption / TCG can not be restored by the Tabard Vendor, you'll have to ticket Customer Support if you wish for them to be restored after you've deleted them.
