Why would anyone compare this to Raging Berserker's Helm? This is "leather" headgear where the Berserker's Helm is "Mail".

has anyone realized what this could do with the orc racial ability endgame..+12 to axes you would like never miss...put this on a dps war in bwl with a epic 2hnd axe and my god the results could be devestating

Most of the information above is fairly old.

Has anyone examined this item lately?

Specifically, does it work with 1H or 2H or both?

Also, did the weapon skill nerf from BC make this piece essentially worthless?

I saw in AH so picked it up. I'll try to figure out whether its better than my current Nightscope Head piece, but doubt I'll be able to tell.

Any help/advice is most appreciated. (fyi, I use 2H axe)

I think it rather made it quite useful, adding alot of hit and crit, seing that weapon skill requires like nothing at that level.

+7 axes are not bad at all, it will reduce the amount of damage removed by glancing hits if you fight mobs more then 2 levels above you, I will use this helmet in end game raiding as soon as i leveled up ny warrior, it sure looks better then edgemasters handguards!

Who cares about stats? This is the most stylin' hat in the game. I'll try to remember to get a screen of it.

Increaced Axes will increace both your chance to crit and hit with axes; however, I can't see many people making use of it. Sure, it's good for enhancement shamen, but hunters would likely want more agility and no other leather classes can even use axes. It might not be half-bad for warriors and paladins, but if they pick this up they might get accused of ninjaing the item.

I would say that, about 90% of the time, this would be a better item...

The 采金专家的头盔 is a decent and much more accessible alternative to the infamous 剑师护手.

采金专家的头盔 only affects 1H Axes (it does NOT affect 2H axes), but it is much easier to obtain because it drops off of a rare elite, 挖掘专家舒尔弗拉格, found just outside the Uldaman instance entrance; whereas 剑师护手 is a world drop and thus has an abysmal drop rate...

Moreover, 1H axes are much less contested drops for gearing, because only fury warriors really use them. That said, it's helm stat slot arguably makes EGH a bit worse than Edgies because helms have higher stat budget slots than gloves and Edgies also boosts sword and dagger skill (which are much more common weapon drops), but the +5 AGI and much greater accessibility makes up for it.

With 采金专家的头盔, non-orc warriors can effectively gear themselves as an orc -- at least for dual wielding.

Ultimately, 采金专家的头盔+祭祀护手 would sim to be about a 10DPS loss from a 狮心头盔+剑师护手 combo, assuming you are using the same weapons. As of Phase 5, 采金专家的头盔+毁灭护手 is basically the same DPS as 狮心头盔+剑师护手. Thus, I would not worry about gimping yourself if you go with this item over Edgies. The only real obstacle is the fairly limited access to good 1H axes outside raids (寒霜之咬/密林战斧 for main hand and 斩骨手斧/塞拉希尔 for off hand are a good PreBiS axes).

Expert Goldminer's Helm/Gauntlets of Annihilation(cThun) IS in Phase 5 on par with LHH/Edge combo and it cost ALOT less. LHH mats are going up and Edge is selling for 4k+. (my server 5k)

Snag this helm and the Cthun gloves and you're laughing but prices will rise when Phase 5 get going so be quick!

With estimated 10% drop chance and 16hr spawn, you're looking at on average of 3-4 helms per month then split that between horde/alliance GL!
