These shoulders are great for any Fire mage (or any mage that runs out of mana quickly). During a Rag fight the extra mana regen will help a lot more than you'd think. Pair this with the Manastorm Leggings and a Mana Ruby/Evocation and you'll be good for the fight!

not really worth the set , if you go for dps you better go non-set items.

This mantle is considered to be good even by todays standards. It has just about all the stats needed to make it great for raiding. It has a decent amount of shadow resistance (7 can be more useful then you might think), and a great amount of mana regeneration (4 mana per 5 seconds is very useful for those mana-dependent fights). The additional spell damage is also a plus, even if it is just 14 (there are better mantles for spell damage in BWL, I will list the best 2 in at the bottom of this post). Also, they're cool to boot.

Stat-wise, they have excellent stats to help you have a good mana pool for raids. The additional 21 intellect is spectacular for mana-heavy fights, and the stamina will give you a good boost to your health. However, they are lacking spirit (which I guess they make up for in mana regeneration).

If you are looking for some shoulders to increase your spell damage, I suggest one of the following instead of these:

- Field Marshal's Silk Spaulders (even easier to get since patch 2.0)
- Mantle of the Blackwing Cabal (drops off Razorgore, the first boss in BWL)
- Netherwind Mantle (drops of Chromaggus, the second to last boss in BWL)

Out of those 3, I recommend Mantle of the Blackwing Cabal the most, as it gives an additional +34 spell damage. However, it contains no resistances, mana regeneration, or spirit.

Finnaly got mine, i dont usually have luck in Mc with drops, so i had a lot of dkp. They look cool, but not a nice as the netherwind ones :)

woot this is my first mc drop that i won and my second equippable epic ive ever gotten... 1 piece down 7 to go ;P. it only took us 3 tries on the baron... stupid people kept blowing us up cuz they werent on vent.

Mostly all epic set items drop from mobs in Molten Core and Onyxia. Molten Core's entrance is located inside BRD.
