This is the standard fishing pole for most players since it is the highest + fishing you can get from a vender, at any level, and is not soulbound.

If you have a spare Fishing Line enchant, you can apply it to this pole for +fishing skill and sell it or send it to an alt! It does NOT become soulbound.

The best fishing pole for a low-level fisher.

TIP: If you pass by a vendor who is selling one of these, pick it up; I have been selling them on the AH for upwards of 5g apiece, which is a decent markup. Won't make you millions, but it'll add up.

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Fishing Pole can buy from any trader and is a reward from Red Snapper - Very Tasty! (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Strong Fishing Pole can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Staats' Fishing Pole reward from in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Darkwood Fishing Pole fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Big Iron Fishing Pole low drop from Shellfish Trap.

■ Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 reward from (Alliance side) and (Horde side).

■ Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole reward from Rather Be Fishin' (Shattrath City).

■ you can get it if you are honored with , require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Nat's Lucky Fishing Pole reward from Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme, Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme for people already completed this quest before the quest trainer for Artisan Fishing was removed in 3.1.0

■ Arcanite Fishing Pole reward from world event of Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza for to first player who catch Speckled Tastyfishx40 and give Riggle Bassbait, completing Master Angler, its is the best pole in game with high fishing skill.

■ Jeweled Fishing Pole low drop from Bag of Shiny Things (Fishing Quest Daily in Stormwind and Orgrimmar), even a lvl 10 can obtain this item, and Bag of Fishing Treasures (Fishing Quest Daily in Dalaran) you must be lvl 70 and got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also if you catch the Blacktip Shark but you are not the first person who completed it, you gain the bag in Better Luck Next Time.

■ Bone Fishing Pole low drop from Bag of Shiny Things, same work with Jeweled Fishing Pole.

■ you can get it if you are revered with , require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole can buy from Sairuk (Dragonblight) or Tanaika (Howling Fjord), you must be Exalted with The Kalu'ak, its the best pole with cool model and unique breathing underwater in game, you must have the expansion Wrath of the Lich King if you want this item.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.

■ Blump Family Fishing Pole is no longer available in game because the Gubber Blump disappear on events of cataclysm, so Staats' Fishing Pole and the replaced them.

Itens on PTR of Warlords of Draenor expansion:

■ its a item sold by Nat Pagle from Garrison of Alliance in Shadowmoon Valley, you must unlock him in order to purchase it, counting with the lure it will increase 40 fishing skill.

■ Horde equivalent, but now it will sold in Frostfire Ridge on Garrison of Horde.

■[ has the high fishing skill on the game, however its temporarily in "online time" doenst depend of "character time played", fished from the waters of draenor, even a level low can adquire this item.

The recipe drops in The barrens! and it has a 7.7% of dropping off Thundre heads!(I've farmed for houres and no drop and prices have gone up on AH 40-80gold)anyway i've been to the one in Eleywood forest and she never has 1 in stock well no point in not tring now that the faire is on might have a cahnce of getting it

Strong fishing pole was my main weapon until lvl 18 on my priest, they've nerfed it down to 5.7 dps since then.

If you are a newbie like myself to the game and want to level up cooking and fishing at the same time, get down to the Stormwind Docks. Stand beside the Leland family and cast away. You can get to 150 Cooking, and 150 Fishing in under 2 hours. The Brilliant Smallfish Recipe is available at the docks, it is good for lev 0-50 cooking, the lev 50-100 recipe will require you to go to the backside of Ironforge to get, but is worthwhile as that is the most common type of fish caught in Stormwind. The 100-150 cooking recipe for Catfish is available at the Stormwind docks and in no time you will have both fishing and cooking to 150 ... hardest part in my opinion is catching the Brilliant Smallfish to get your Cooking up to 50 ... Found this on Vernon Hale in Lakeshire, the stock will always be easy to find since noone looks in Lakeshire so i suggest starting there.

I found mine in Senjin, the troll village, this was after fishing in Org, the Glades and UC, btw I was a 75 when I got it, as a undead, thank god I didn't have to go to TB :P

My main is is an ally but the Gump quest in Auberdine is so easy to find under the dock, I think it's unfair to make the Horde go through this.

Found mine after going to Orgrimmar, Shadowprey, and Thunder Bluff. It was in THunder bluff, only took 20 minutes to find mine.

It seems to be completely random when you can get it...
I have managed to get it in Darnassus, Iron Forge and Stormwind City, but now it's impossible to find...
Oh well, my characters will just have to share...

I saw it sold at Booty Bay like two days ago.

edit: I checked again today and it wasnt there anymore. Weird.

another edit: i checked again and it was there. I also saw it in Ogrimmar. The merchants have only one pole each time and you have to wait for them to restock.

The pole is definitely in the game.

Limited Supply Item sold by all fishing supply vendors. That means it, like all limited supply items, isn't always in the vendors inventory. Just keep checking all of them when ever you see them and wherever you see them. Same goes for the Aquadynamic lures they sell. Always stock up on the lures and store them in your bank for fishing quests and the STV fishing contest on Sundays. I like to check them everytime I'm in a city or village, etc.

The Strong Fishing Pole is also a great Level 5 staff weap for new characters. So, get your 5 to the nearest Fishing Supply vendor asap. Once you get fishing to level 5 you can equip this pole.

Take up fishing, and fish away. Make some starter cash by selling your fish back to vendor. Also, skill up cooking with fish caught.

Not sure where to find the trainers or vendors? The vendors are next to the trainers. Ask guards where the trainers are. Also, use your mini-map tracker to find trainers.

I was leveling up a new rogue and doing some fishing when I realized this pole has twice as much power as my dagger. Makes leveling a LOT easer at the low levels. ;)

It doesn't seem worth waiting for a restock. I've stood at Harn Longcast for 2.5 hours and I haven't seen a single one in stock. I've refreshed the vendor window every few seconds. After 1 hour and 2 minutes of waiting, Aquadynamic Fish Attractor restocked. I don't even know how long it has been out of stock before I arrived. I'd suggest either buying it from AH or just checking fishing supplies vendors whenever you see one. Seems like there's a chance you could be waiting for hours to see a restock of something worth very little.
