Truly strange of the item requirements.

"Requires (1) Fishing" - You have to be 375+ to do the daily anyway. That plus the reward sack and the rod itself BOP anyway so it's not like you can trade it across characters.

At least it's +30 fishing. Not an upgrade the Stranglethorn Fishing Tournament one just yet. Nat Pagle is still the top dog when it comes to poles.

This one is definitely a sidegrade to probably an older pole from BC or even Vanilla WoW if you're still using Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 or even Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole.

It's not really noticeable in any of the screenshots, but the pole also has runes inscribed on it that glow. Neat little effect there, you can sorta see it in the last screenshot.

Since 3.1.2 fishing poles are the very best Feral DPS weapons from 68 to 78. They lacks stats (completely), but the quest poles now have the Feral Attack Power of any other level 200 blue 2H weapon.

Feral Druid is the only class that benefits from Weapon DPS (which converts to Feral Attack Power) and yet do not use abilities that require particular types of weapons, so for everyone else, this is just a nice fishing pole.

I noticed it only vendors for 1c, kinda strange given that its covered in jewels! You'd think it would sell for more! Anyway, i disenchanted it instead and got a large dream shard. MUCH more useful!

*edit: yes it now vendors for 17g91s99c. I bet there were a lot of sad vendors because they're profit gain on poor shlubs selling them expensive rods for coppers disappeared!

If you look closely at the bone fishing pole, its a forearm holding a skull. I just got this after completing the monsterbelly daily where I needed to return a severed arm. Interestingly enough, I received the jeweled fishing rod after doing the sewer daily where I needed to return corroded jewelry. Is this just a coincidence or has anyone else noticed this?

Most definitely, i received my Jeweled pole on the monsterbelly daily and my bone fishing pole on the jewel of the sewers quest. Unlike the crocolisk in the city outland daily, all of the Dalaran dailies award the same RNG laden bag.

It is possible to get this item and equip it at level 10. By losing the kalu'ak fishing derby, lower levels have a chance to get this amazing twinking wep. Because both the high damage and the 1600 AP, this is the best druidweapon till northrend. Any level 10-19 druid that managed to get this can easy oneshot twinks in bg.
For those who think this is a bug, it is not. It has been reported on bugreport forum but it is intended to be like this :)
Good luck in getting one and oneshotting those pesky twinks in their heirlooms.

This and the other +30 pole have never dropped for me, I've been doing fishing dailies for about 1.5 months every day now.

For me the easiest way to get a cool pole was to win fishing tournament (), which I did from the first time.

The second easier way is to grind Kalu'ak reputaion, however this takes very long time and is hard.

Wow. I had no idea that the drop rate was so low on this. I neglected fishing until I became bored on my L80 Rogue. Because I was really bored...I leveled fishing from 150 to 450 in three days (that is a lot of casting, believe me), and this rod dropped the 6th time that I picked up the fishing daily.

Somehow, I also caught the Giant Sewer Rat after 160 casts, and Old Ironjaw after 60 casts, both on the same day using the Nat Pagle pole that I had at the time.

I will confirm that you can get this to drop from the bag you get as a reward for the daily even with a low fishing skill, since my priest whose fishing is only around 100 just got this ... from her 2nd ever fishing daily. Can't even equip yet :O

Got earlier today on my main who has been doing the SW fishing dailies for maybe a month now. I got the fishing hat a few weeks back, so IMO the drop rates on these items are not nearly as low as Wowhead displays. Nice rod though, er that's what she said.

I got mines ages ago, I was dissapointed when I saw the 300 skill point cap as I was only at 240 or something close to that.

I honestly cannot remember what fishing daily I got it from but it was most likely SW. Although Darnassus is also likely as it was my main "Go to" zone until recently.

At 294 skill now so almost there!

Some fishing poles in game since patch 1.11.1 with some helpful tips:

■ Fishing Pole can buy from any trader and is a reward from Red Snapper - Very Tasty! (Alliance only), generally its used for increase fishing skill on beginning.

■ Strong Fishing Pole can buy from specific vendors in world, them can sell only one item.

■ Staats' Fishing Pole reward from in Darkshore (Alliance only).

■ Darkwood Fishing Pole fishing low drop in some low level areas.

■ Big Iron Fishing Pole low drop from Shellfish Trap.

■ Nat Pagle's Extreme Angler FC-5000 reward from (Alliance side) and (Horde side).

■ Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole reward from Rather Be Fishin' (Shattrath City).

■ you can get it if you are honored with , require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Nat's Lucky Fishing Pole reward from Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme, Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme for who completed this quest before the quest trainer for Artisan Fishing was removed in 3.1.0

■ Arcanite Fishing Pole reward from world event of Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza for to first player who catch Speckled Tastyfishx40 and give Riggle Bassbait, completing Master Angler, its is the best pole in game with high fishing skill.

■ Jeweled Fishing Pole low drop from Bag of Shiny Things (Fishing Quest Daily in Stormwind and Orgrimmar), even a lvl 10 can obtain this item, and Bag of Fishing Treasures (Fishing Quest Daily in Dalaran) you must be lvl 70 and got the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also if you catch the Blacktip Shark but you are not the first person who completed it, you gain the bag in Better Luck Next Time.

■ Bone Fishing Pole low drop from Bag of Shiny Things, same work with Jeweled Fishing Pole.

■ you can get it if you are revered with , require the Mists of Pandaria expansion.

■ Mastercraft Kalu'ak Fishing Pole can buy from Sairuk (Dragonblight) or Tanaika (Howling Fjord), you must be Exalted with The Kalu'ak, its the best pole with cool model and unique breathing underwater in game, you must have the expansion Wrath of the Lich King if you want this item.

Some itens removed or in database of game but you cant ever got:
■ Crafty's Pole this item appear in database of Lich King expansion, probably in patch 3.2 or 3.3, cannot be obtained in live realms.
■ Blump Family Fishing Pole is no longer available in game because the Gubber Blump disappear, so Staats' Fishing Pole and the replace.

This one still eludes me. I have been trying for almost 2 years now. I doe have the Bone Fishing Pole, which was a nice drop over 6 months ago from the fishing daily in Orgimmar. However, I will keep on fishin' and tryin'! Besides, it is an easy daily, and sometimes it does pay off! :)

Just got this item from the Bag of Fishing Treasures from one of Marcia Chase's fishing dailies. Not sure how rare of a "drop" this is. Personally on the Farstriders realm, I've not seen anyone else have it. I consider this just a step down from the Kalu'ak fishing pole since the Kalu'ak allows you to breath underwater and has higher damage, but same increase in fishing skill.

Got this today from the fishing daily. I really wish it was BoA so I could give it to another character. This character already has the Mastercraft Kalu'ak fishing pole, so there really isn't any use for it sadly and it feels like a waste to vendor.
