The last, and arguably hardest, boss of AQ20.
The Ossirian (or "Big Bird" as we affectionately call him) fight is not about raid DPS, it's about coordination. I would never, in my wildest dreams, attempt this fight with a PuG.
http://www.wowwiki.com/Ossirian_the_Unscarred
As of a few patches ago, there will always be a first crystal available right in front of Ossirian. This is much easier than the old way, which required you to find a crystal from the get-go.
Use a rogue on an epic mount to pull Ossy and to find crystals. Have your finder ping the minimap to show the raid where the next crystal is.
The periodic knockback can really screw up a crystal hit. Pulling aggro away from the tanks is also deadly.
To help with this, have everone (including melee dps) go to the next crystal and then WAIT for Ossirian there. That way if a Warlock or Mage pulls aggro, they will still be in range of the crystal.
Some of the best loot in AQ20 is available here, including (IMO) the best set of mage pants in the game. Good luck!

keller, the sad thing is, on my server (Korgath US) there are constant PUGs of AQ20, probably a successful PUG ever night honestly. Though on a server with Death and Taxes, Dread, and Drama all having killed Kel'Thuzad and most of those pug's being run by 4-5 members of one of the said guilds, it's not that surprising. 5 people in tier 3 telling 15 others in blues what to do works well enough to pug almost anything.

Recently my guild accidentally did this on ossirian. Basically by doing this trick you spawn multiple crystals in one spot so you don't have to run around while doing the fight. All you have to do is get your hunter to send his pet to ossirian , and get the pet to attack ossi. When ossi has come down just a few steps have the hunter FD , and make sure noone has any aggro on ossi yet, (no buffs heals etc.) ossi should run back up the stairs. If you pay attention to the first free crystal you get , you'll notice another one spawns underneath it. Just do this trick as many times as possible to get as many crystals as possible and then pull ossirian.

You will need 2 tanks for this fight because he will stun your main tank. He has a knock back so warriors will have to quickly stance dance and intercept so he doesn't go running after the warrior. Feral Bears work well here because they can charge without stance dancing AND their charge is on a quicker cooldown.
You will also need 2-3 scouts hitting any crystal that spawns besides the one in the middle or the one right by it.
The Pull:
Have a rogue pull him and then pop evasion when he gets close to the first crystal. Be sure your warrior activates the crystal before Ossiran gets to it because it takes a few seconds to activate. Do not grab aggro from the rogue untill the crystal zaps him. He hits for 6k easily against plate and you don't want him to 1 shot your tank.
The Fight:
If your scouts are fast enough, this is a simple tank and spank fight at the middle crystal. If not you will need to drag him to the one closest to the middle and then back to the middle (we did the one at the 9'oclock position)
Every time he gets hit with a crystal, he gains a weakness against a school of magic. So caster be carefull not to overaggro if one of your schools come up several times in a row. He isn't tauntable and if you aggro him will come for you.

This is the final boss in the instance. He drops his head for a quest which rewards a neck piece. The strategies posted above are all great strategies, as an overview:
Ossirian is a very unique encounter in that you must use crystals found in his room to debuff him before you can damage him. If Ossirian is not debuffed, he will enter god-mode and one shot everyone. The fight should have 3 warriors all tanking Ossirian. Every so often he will but one in a whirlwind and go to the next warrior. HE CANNOT BE TAUNTED. These warriors are responsible for kiting him to each crystal. Another designated member of the raid should run ahead of the group, preferably mounted, and look for crystals. When he spots one, ping on the map and allow the warriors to recognize they know where to go next. When the warriors get to the crystal they can click it to apply the debuff. Try to follow a circular pattern. When he is debuffed he also becomes vulnerable to a certain spell type. For a while, ONLY DOTS SHOULD BE USED, since aggro is VERY sensitive. After he is at ~70% health direct damage can probably be used. You must have at least 2 warriors alive to complete the fight.

My guild used to always use a rogue to scout for crystals, however there is a much easier strategy if you have 2 druids in the raid.
All you have to do is put two druids in a group by themselves and have them run (travel form) in opposite directions tagging crystals that are along the outside and towards the back where the worst tornados are. This forces crystals to pop up in the middle all the time, no long runs and much less chance of him going into supreme mode. This makes the fight considerably shorter because mages aren't limited as much from moving around and can really put out the damage.

Ossirian the Unscarred is a very hard fight, not because he hits hard or has a lot of HP, but because it requires a raid of people that work very well as a team with good communication to bring him down. Without a well coordinated team, Ossirian will take out the mightiest raids.
The raid needs to be constantly on the move during this fight, bringing Ossirian to a crystal and clicking it with in a certain time before he goes into "Supreme" mode (More on that later). While moving him around his area, the raid needs to also watch out for Ossirian to envelop the tank in a whirlwind, so he'll switch to the next highest person on the aggro list. He'll cast curse of tongues on the entire raid to make healing very difficult, so mages and druids should be dispelling that immediately if possible. He also does a knockback that does around 1,000+ damage if you are in close proximity to him and should the tank be knocked away from the crystal at a crucial moment, this could spell disaster for your raid. Cyclones also spawn around where Ossirian needs to be fought which can decimate a raid if it is caught unaware.
The reason the raid needs to be constantly moving around and finding crystals is because if you do not do it within a certain amount of time and weaken him, Ossirian will become "Supreme." Being supreme means that he will be hitting everyone for about 10,000 damage a swing. The benefit is however, if you keep Ossirian in a non-supreme state, he becomes weak to a specific element and casting it on him will do 100% more damage than normal.

"Ossirian's beaten body was dragged back to the Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj following the battle, where he should by all rights have perished. It is whispered that Ossirian found the favor of the malevolent force that reigns over the Qiraji, for in spite of his wounds, the construct survived.
When the mighty Anubisath awoke, he found himself transformed, his strength bolstered and his wounded head bound in the visage of a hawk."
He was Anubis-like before, but was changed, so not a mess up on their part.

Its Horus (anglicised corruption, but near enough) who is the hawk-headed Kemetic god, and he is NOT a Sun god.
He is, however, the "son" of Osiris (another anglicised name) who was killed, and his erm... third leg, was used to impregnate his wife and bring forth Horus, who was partially a reincarnation of Osiris.
Ossirian dies and is reborn as a Horusath, get it?

The fight used to be slightly annoying and slightly luck based (depending on where the crystals would pop up and if a tornado would truck over your raid). Now, however, a group of 70's should easily be able to DPS him down on the steps. For the slackers, one crystal could be necessary.

I just soloed most of AQ20, myself (feral druid), and found it to be an excellent source of gold. Got about 40g per boss, and 75 from Ossirian, and the spell books vendor for 10g each. Great for those who want to do something a little different from (or in addition to) boring daily quests!

Make sure you clear the Anubisaths before engaging Ossirian solo. An add while you're kiting him around the crystals is almost a guaranteed death.

Currently bugged on live. The crystals will randomly not debuff him, I have no idea why.
However, they AREN'T bugged on the first pull, so if you 1 shot him you'll be fine. Just don't try to solo him while he's enraged on your first try like I did.

After 4 wipes I came to this conclusion ...
After you use the first crystal, and it doesn't disappear, don't use it again. Just move on onto the next crystal you can find and it shouldn't bug anymore.
It seems that the first crystal bugs out all the other crystals if you attempt to use it after the first time.

Just did this as a DPS Unholy Death Knight. Fairly easy.
He hit me for 1500 or so while "enraged" with around 22k armor, once debuffed he hit for around 500. He doesn't do much. He has a short stun called Envolping Winds. I remember that lasting a long while when I did this at level 60, but it seems to only last a couple of seconds on a level 80. He casts War Stomp which is a knockback that hits for around 700. Also, he casts Curse of Tongues (not relevant for me but might make soloing this as a caster/healer harder, if it's even possible).

Just soloed this guy on my prot warrior (1200 BV approx and 31 % block), fairly easy, and idd his patrolling guardians (when they have meteor strike) hits alot harder then he does.
Its fairly simple. u pull him check of the first pylon and just move on from there, making sure u get his knockback with ur back facing towards a succumbed pylon. I used some dps items for crit and had 30 K hp buffed nothing much. never needed to use shield wall, used Enraged Rege once, if u time it good and the knockback takes u max range u can manage to bandage for a few secs. Helped abit.
For the ones who want a bigger challenge, and lesser mobs to clear, u can just finish off half of the guardians patrolling and just avoid em during boss, they dont add upon commencing battle anyways.

I was also just able to solo this guy on my prot warrior. Similar block value, 29% block, 26k hp without self buff.
Three things that helped me a lot: aggro him while mounted and ride to the first pylon. This allows you to activate the pylon before he can smack you while enraged. Second, activate each pylon about 8 secs before the buff is going to run out, as the pylon takes a few seconds to activate. Third, he will knock you back once during each buff cycle, so don't go backward all the way to the next pylon, let his knockback do it for you (and as the previous poster mentioned a little bandage is a great idea).
As for the guardians in the room that cast the meteor, after the first one hits you, simply kite the mob backwards and you shouldn't get hit by any more.

I couldn't have druids, Death Knights and warriors running with all of the credit, so I pulled myself together and got my Protection Paladin to the ruins.
First time I tried to solo him, and it went alright-ish. The trash were by far the hardest, as the meteors were close to killing me several times.
Anyway, about the boss.
I used pretty much the same tactic as mentioned above, by kiting him to the crystals. However, I was slacking a bit, and only went to the crystals once the debuff was a 3 seconds... bad idea. I was hit several times by 3k damage, so it ended up with me having to use Lay on Hands at 20%.
All in all... it's pretty easy, yet it's not just a "kite around in a circle" fight like Kurinnaxx, so it was quite entertaining as well.
But anyway, just activate the crystals 8 seconds or so before the debuff runs out, like Warkos mentioned above
EDIT: Changed "adds" to "trash"
EDIT 2: My gear was the best available from heroics + some 10-man Naxxramas gear.

Annoying but pretty easy as a bear druid - main issue is the odd time when you get stuck in an area with no nearby crystals.

just did this fight as myself (80 prot warrior), 80 holy priest, 80 hunter and 54 pally, all 80s in naxx/os gear. the pally died almost immediately from the thunderclap looking thing but otherwise not too bad, took us two attempts to clear not using the crystals as los issues broke the heals but the second try went fine.
easy tips:
- take him on the steps, facing one side or another. you wont get thrown too far.
- a hunter pet is a great offtank when your MT gets stunned.
- he can be fought without worrying about the crystals, hits for maybe 1.5k-2k melee damage, easy to heal through.
good luck all :)

2 Manned with 2 Shaman
1 Resto - 1 Elemental (both with instant cast ghost wolf)
This fight is Bugged
It is still possible to do this fight, but it takes a lot longer and you have to keep aware of what's going on.
What we did: Resto shaman mounted up and ran up to the platform where Ossirian stands. Run back to the first crystal and stand in waiting. (Because this fight is bugged) You need to make sure that Ossirian is literally ON the crystal when you activate it. (If you don't you will risk not removing his buff) As soon as we popped the first crystal we'd pop ghost wolf and run to another crystal. DPS him down until he gets to about 8-10 seconds left on his debuff, then pop the next crystal. Sometimes you will cut it so close that you won't be able to DPS him down in between crystals, so the fight can take longer that way.
He will take turns putting each of you (if you're 2 manning it) into a whirlwind. During which time you cannot move or cast spells. He also does a knock back (which can be good and can be bad) His knock back will remove the whirlwind effect if he's close enough to you when he does it, but it can be bad if you're lined up at your crystal DPSing him waiting for the timer to tick down. Rush back to the crystal and tap it and move on to the next crystal.
This fight is especially hard for casters because of the curse that he puts on you (reduces casting speed by 75%). So if you don't have a way to decurse this fight can be intense.
If a crystal instantly respawns don't think that you're just lucky! Don't click it! It will bug all of the other crystals and you will not be able to debuff the boss.
Good luck and have fun!

Duoed quite easily prot/holy pallies. He hits me, a heroic/10 man naxx geared tank for about 1.5k (after block). The holy pally, also naxx and heroic geared, was able to easily heal through it.
Really the only complication were the occasional 8 seconds she'd have to tank while I was stunned. That proved to be no real issue wither. She never got below 25% health.
So if you do duo with with a healer, be sure they know that they'll have to heal themselves occasionally.
We didn't take too long, so the enrage timer didn't set in. Didn't even know there was an enrage until I read the comments here.
I should add that we didn't bother kiting, and just killed him near the bottom of his stairs.

How to solo as a feral druid: Pull him while mounted, run to the first crystal (at the foot of the stairs), go bear form and activate it when he is about 15 yards away. As soon as he gets the debuff, the next crystal will appear. It will always be nearby; spin the camera around as you do your normal Maul/Lacerate/Mangle/FFF, and when you see the crystal, begin backing toward it while continuing to DPS. Beware his knockback, which can knock you past the crystal if you try to get there too fast (he will knock you back once per crystal switch). When he has about 8-9 seconds left on his debuff, hit the switch to refresh it. There is no reason to cut this close! It's much better to waste a few seconds than to endure a few seconds of him hitting you at full strength.
The only thing that can kill you on this boss, assuming your gear is half decent, is tanking him without his debuff active. He kills you pretty quickly that way, and he moves too fast to escape using Dash or Travel Form. Therefore, the only trick to the fight is making sure you always know where the next crystal is. It will spawn within sight of the current one, as soon as you activate it (you may need to turn up your viewing distance if you normally run with it lower than max, I'm not sure).
It's a fun fight and quite lucrative. It also tends to impress people that you can solo a 20 man raid. Don't tell them how easy it was. ;)

Soloed at 80 with Ret Paladin in Deadly/pve gear and Titansteel mace/shield. judged Light, Seal of Corruption, Blessing of Might, Devotion aura. this was my first attempt so I played it defensive and relatively safe. I find that sword/board + corruption works quite effectively against Kurinnaxx as well after he hits frenzy.
very simple fight, I cleared most of the guardians in the plateau pre-pull (with fire resist aura, consecrate, seal of light and two-hander). approach Ossirian mounted and pull to the first crystal, it takes about 5 seconds for the debuff to kick in after clicking, and it lasts for 45 seconds. that 45 seconds will be used to navigate and kite him to the next crystal. standing back to the crystal may or may not block his knockback, it didn't make a significant difference either way. it's a good place to lay a consecration for extra damage. I waited until the debuff was down to 6 before activating the crystal, then took off towards the next one. repeat until dead. tornadoes were a non-factor, the damage is negligible.

As of patch 3.2 it's still bugged up.
From about 4'th crystal (~50% boss health) they just stop working - the crystal emerges, but does not debuff the boss, the second one either as well as the next... until youre dead. Shifting out to heal/run means he'll just 1-shot you.
4 tries in a row, same scenario.
While debuffed by the crystal, the boss does virtually no damage to me. Without debuff he hits for 2-3k dmg.
Very fast, can not be kited.
Level 80 feral druid, tanking spec, PvP gear (hateful set + deadly offset items). 26.8k hp, 25.7k armor.
______________
Edit:
we have been trying to take him for about an hour and it's still the same - after activating 4-5 crystals they stop working. I don't recommend trying to solo it unless you have good tanking gear and can take him without debuff.
Im not certain, but I think his damage increases over time while while without debuff.

Hmm I haven't had it bug on me yet and I've done AQ20 about 6-7 resets in a row. Every time I've used at least 5 crystals.
Also as a Ret Paladin you shouldn't need to use a sword/shield like the Ret poster above me. He said he played it defensively and you definitely don't need to. As long as you keep him disenraged (new word of the day) JoL/AoW procs should keep you topped off just fine using a 2hander.

Did this last night with a group of four level 80 guildies (me (Prot Warrior), Resto Druit, Ret Pally, Blood DK). We decided to do AQ20 on a whim and didn't read anything before hand.
I think it's safe to say with a tank, a healer and a couple plate-wearing DPS you can ignore the mechanics of this boss. The damage buff didn't matter since he didn't hit me often and for the brief period I was stunned the healer could keep up the others easily enough.

Solo'd this as a 80 Unholy Death Knight with mainly Naxx-10 gear, and 2/5 T8.5. The trick is- Don't bring out your ghoul except to heal! It's MUCH easier this way.
Since he will stun you and turn to your pet, you will be there for 6 seconds, helpless, while he beats on your pet and may even get his buff back. The stun breaks on damage, so with no pet(Gargoyle and Army count as a pet)you will instantly break, allowing you to kite him to the different pillars.
Took me about 10 minutes. I had the 2 Brew charms from Brewfest.

Managed to solo this guy, after numerous fails at 2-manning it with a well geared feral druid friend, on my DK. Used my blood dps spec, but my dualwield tanking gear (yes, I know...) to be crit immune. Gear was mostly uld 25 quality stuff.
Doing it solo is much easier than with others, because the enveloping winds he casts on the tank is immediately broken if he hits you again. If you're with others he will march off to kill them instead.
With decent tanking gear you should be able to ignore the devices in the middle (allowing you to bypass the extremely irritating trash) and simply eat his hits, all 300% increased damage of it (melee swings for about 2.5k in my gear).
You should be prepared for a reasonably lengthy fight - I spent about 8-10 minutes taking this guy down. But as long as you don't get careless, it should be quite do-able.
Word of caution, as he seems to be pretty resistant to frost. I had multiple chain-resists of my icy touch during the fight, and it nearly got me killed a couple of times.

Was able to easily 2-man this with a protadin and a feral druid. I was in descent gear(32k hp buffed) and druid was in better gear. He is taunt immune so just battle for aggro and handle him when the other person is enveloped inside the winds. we only did the first crystal, as it wasn't worth trying to get a nature or holy debuff from one to kill him. Quite easy fight, just remember to stay away from the whirlwinds floating around the stage or you WILL die. I had Seal of Wisdom up and was judging light to keep us topped off as he couldn't damage us enough to require a real heal. I had also given both of us Blessing of Sanctuary(yes King's on druid would probably been better), and I switched to Seal of Corruption to just get the fight over with. The trash in the room(the Anubis ones) was harder than him because of the meteor's but we both stayed in and it did about 3k damage to me which is not game breaking in any sense. Overall this fight was much easier than Kurinaxx as we forgot to kite Kurinaxx for the first 90% of the fight and were pretty much silenced for it.

Relatively easy fight to solo for an 80 Enhancement Shaman in T9.
Basically you just gotta keep dragging him along to each crystal and hope you get a Nature buff to speed the kill up a bit.
Wolves arent even really needed except for when hes got his enrage up when trying to find a crystal.
MAKE SURE you dont drag him onto any of the broken pillar pieces on the floor as it WILL bug him out and cause him to spam summon you if you decide to get out of his melee range!

Easy solo as an 80 feral druid with 5.2k GS. Didn't go below 75% the whole time with ILotP. While it's probably possible for a well geared tank or a paladin tank to just as easily do this without removing the 300% damage buff, I decided to do it anyways. Just kite him to a crystal and hit it.
It was a long fight but not a very tough one.

Solo'd as an 80 PvE afflic lock. NOT fun. If I were to come back, I'd respec to PvP afflic for the Demonic Aegis, Fel Domination and Soul Link.
1. Use Demon Armor for the armor and healing boost.
2. Pre-summon a VW and pop Sacrifice.
3. Quickly summon an imp, who must be on passive with Phase Shift enabled.
4. Run up to the stairs to pull the boss, then run to the first crystal. Activate it when he is about 15 yards away (he starts walking much faster when he gets to the bottom of the stairs.) The crystal will take a few seconds to kick in, which is why you used the VW sac.
5. Cast CoE as soon as he is in range. This is very important because he has very high resistance and it can totally screw you up since self-healing is so important on this fight. Next get Corr up so it can start siphoning life. Then do UA and Haunt, proceeded by Drain Life as filler. Keep up all the debuffs with Haunt>Corr>UA as priority.
6. Once you've initally applied all your dots and your health is stable near 100% (you might have dropped down to 25% or less), start back-pedalling to the next crystal, and activate it as soon as you get to it.
7. Repeat step 6 until the boss is dead. If you get lucky and get the Shadow crystal debuff on the boss, you might want to pop a potion and start spamming SB if your health is full, otherwise take advantage of that time to heal yourself to full.
The most important thing about this fight is to not let the crystal debuff fall off the boss, or he will get the 300% damage buff and 3-shot you. It took me many tries and I might try again next week as 56/15/0.

I suggest you ignore thee whole crystal searching(died trying to find them) and just go balls to the walls and tank him there. I was in naxx10 gear with a few icc 5 man heroics and i did just fine.Just keep diseases up for death strike and use some defensive cooldowns every now and then.

Tested this guy out as a paladin tank, had no idea what to expect.
Saw the +300% damage buff and assumed he'd actually hit for a bit.
Of course, with Judgement of Light, Sacred Shield and Seal of Light on, I never fell below 95%.
Hits for about 3k on plate with the buff up.

His name, Ossirian, comes from the Egyptian god Osiris. According to WowWiki, at least. What strikes me is that his name also refers to Ossiriand, the Land of the Seven Rivers in the west of Beleriand during the First Age of Middle-Earth, where the Nandor(green-elves) dwelt. Any other Tolkien fans who noticed this?

Soloed him on his steps let him smack me around, his knockback threw me right at a pylon and at that time i used ER and Last Stand.
He hits an 80 plate wearer like a pansy, plus with all the dmg mitigation and avoidance of a tank, you wont even get hit most of the time.

Did this solo as an elemental shaman (pvp spec) with resto gear on. with the 300% buff on, he hits quite hard, so I had to use Lesser Healing Wave to keep myself up (that includes with the Curse of Tongues that he puts up).
So, it is soloable as an elemental shaman, you just need to do the fight normally, using crystals and keep yourself up.
He gave with the quest you obtain 1000 Cenarion Circle rep and 500 Brood of Nozdormu. I believe he gives the same amount as a normal boss, 100 Cenarion Circle and 50 Brood of Nozdormu.

Solo'd as a Rogue in i277 gear, 49/22 (Combat Hemo Prep), Lifeward on weapons, self-buffed with Drums, Agi/Fort Elixirs and Fort scroll. Glyphs used are Evasion/Hemo/Prep. Not much to say about this other than straightforward burning tank-spank. Once Evasionx2 run out, Ghostly Strike and burn him down. No crystals needed and an average of 7k DPS will kill him easily.

Since rather shockingly, no hunters stepped forward to offer any input, I suppose I may as well. My average gear level is around 232, some higher, some lower. I didn't really have anything special for the encounter, other than the two Brewfest stamina trinkets, and I was using an extreme soloing BM build and a turtle pet (the details of which can be easily found elsewhere). I had a Mammoth Meal, since I could make it myself, Spiced Mammoth Treats and a Runescroll of Fortitude for buffs, though I probably could've done it without.
I tried tanking him where he stood just to see how that went, but I only got him around half before the turtle finally died and I had to feign. So unless you're gearing heavily for stamina/2pc T5 etc, you'll have to do it the hard way. It's a little trickier for hunters since our pet will do the tanking. What I did was to start scouting for another crystal around half duration. Once I got a fair distance or found one, I put my pet to passive to pull Ossirian to it, and then back to defensive once he was in range.
One big thing to be ready for - his stuns
. Every time he stuns your pet, he drops threat and comes straight for you. This is especially bad if you haven't made it to a crystal yet and his enrage hits - your pet can take it for a few seconds, you can't. I started just making sure to keep up scorpid sting for this reason; it lessens pet damage, and for those times when you have to eat his damage because feign death and bestial wrath are on CD, it helps give you some extra avoidance. He does it frequently enough that this will happen more often than you'd like, so be prepared to potion or bandage if needed once your pet picks him up.
The second thing that got me was the damn sandstorms. On one attempt I had him down to the last 20k or so, and as I used a crystal and put some space between me and him to start dpsing again, I backed right into one. There went the last 2k health I had, and there I was ready to put my forehead through the monitor.
Always try to stay aware of the sandstorms and keep some space between you and them
. 1900 or so may not seem like a lot, but it slows you, and it hits every second or so, which can quickly lead to a wipe, especially considering you need a decent buffer of HP for the damage you're bound to take from Ossirian himself.
Once you get the hang of it though, I think it shouldn't be too hard. I had him on the second real attempt, but got disconnected, and I think my frustration was what lead to the next several wipes. Once I actually calmed and didn't rush it, I got him down without any issue and over 50% health left. Good luck to everyone aspiring to do this, and if anyone else who's attempted this has anything to add in the realm of hunters, be sure to share. Soloing things on DKs and paladins can be fairly easy, I know this firsthand, but there's something very satisfying about soloing things with unconventional classes like hunters, and the more resources we have available, the more people can give these rewarding adventures a try, even if it is just to say we did it.

Very easy to solo as mage on any spec.
It's very RNG so it might take few reset to kill.
First, clear all the trash.
-Have 2 different type of spell ready since they have Fire/Arcane reflect and Frost/Shadow Reflect
-I Was arcane spec with Frost Bolt Hot key'ed somewhere
-Cast 1 spell (arcane blast) then depends on the shield, use either arcane blast or frost bolt.
-Make sure mage ward and mana shield is up due to heavy dmg on meteor (5~6k dmg which can fully absorbed by mage ward.
Now for the boss.
Frost Spec.
- Dismiss your pet.
- Mount up and pull the boss
- Pull him to first Crystal that spawns and click em when the boss is near.
- IF the debuff is anything but Frost resist, blink away and invisible to reset.
- IF the debuff is Frost resist, then pop mirror image/icy veins/Water Elemental and kill it within 30 sec. Due to the debuff, you will do half mil dmg under 30 sec with half decent gear.
Fire and Arcane spec.
- Same as above. Just let mirror image tank and blow him up if it's proper resist debuff. If not, invisible and reset and retry.
Took me 3 resets to kill him. Happy hunting!

Soloable as an ICC25 geared Shadow priest. Had my level 60 rogue with me on another account. I died 2 times trying to do this because the crystals to take away his 300% debuff were not spawning. Came here and read to not worry about them because you'll die trying to find them. Went back in and died a third time. Went back in for my last time and the crystals were spawning to where i could see them.
I used my rogue as a sponge and set him just inside the entrance behind one of the pillars. Self buffed, food and flasked for it for the 4th time because i was fairly determined. Whether it was needed, i doubt it. Mounted up, ran just to the top of the stairs and ran back down to the crystal. Used it to take away his debuff and then he put me in a wirlwind and went for my rogue. I came out of the wirlwind and he came back without touching my rogue, he did it again and went to kill my rogue. I worked my way to the next crystal as he came back and PW:S, renewed and prayer of mended myself. DPSd my butt off until he got the debuff again and then i clicked the crystal to take it away. During that i was healing myself with a few flash heals here and there along with PW:S. He kicked me back 1 last time and he was around 100k health left and i just healed and mind flayed him. Also, i timed my Shadowfiend along with my dispersion to take away some of the damage so i could heal myself properly. Sounds difficult, but it was pretty easy.

I did this as a fury warrior in mostly T10 gear with a few 10.5 pieces. I pulled him to the first crystal, activated it and DPSed him down, killing him just after Supreme Mode reactivated. The reason I did so was because it was too difficult to kite him to the next crystal and do damage, especially considering I had to look for the next crystal and deal with his Stomp attack while doing so.

If you do him in a raid, make sure your members know not to touch the crystal until you're ready to pull, or else you'll have to fight him in Supreme Mode. A lot of people who don't know the raid will touch and use up the crystal before the fight if the raid leader doesn't tell them not to.

I believe this fight has been fixed. Up until 4.03a was released I was able to solo him as a feral bear simply by pulling him right where he is at without doing are of the mobs/crystal things. Now, this week...not working. He's doing well over 5K damage to me in bear form *per hit*. I die usually within the first 10 seconds. Even pooping every CD I have I still have not got him below 30%.

Just a few tips for caster soloing in cataclysm:
CLEAR THE ROOM! You must do this, the adds cast a 10k meteor and they summon more adds. You might need as many as 3 or 4 crystals to get the boss where you need him, so just clear it.
Run to the bottom of the steps. As soon as you're 40 yards away, he will pull. Run to the first crystal as fast as you can (blink, teleport, goblin jump, rocket boots, whatever) and activate it. You will see a raid warning that he is vulnerable to *element*. Do not waste your time dpsing him unless he is vulnerable to YOUR element, because he will be super-resistant to everything else. Just run to the next crystal you see and activate it until he is vulnerable to the primary damage you do. Fire, frost, shadow, and arcane I believe. (He is not resistant to holy damage but he does not become vulnerable to it, either, for you paladins/holy priests. I believe the same is true for nature damage, for shamans and druids.)
He still casts curse of tongues pretty frequently. It should not be a problem as long as you used the crystals and got him in the proper state of vulnerability.
As a shadow priest myself, trying to dps him while he was fire-vulnerable was very frustrating. Incoming damage is not a problem, but he was resisting about half of every shadow dot that ticked. When he was shadow vulnerable the fight was over within 30 seconds. So just keep clicking crystals until the right vulnerability pops up.

- btw for anyone who doesn't know what the crystals are. Notes: Do not use before the battle. They do not respawn. During the battle if you "move the boss near crystal and click it not only will remove the 300% buff but make the boss to lose 100 resistance from a random element and take aditional 100% more damage from that element. There are a few in the area (5+)." (quote from
comments
)
Edit: Hmm seems that (since Cata?) they have made it so there is just one crystal? Can't seem to find any more.
Edit 2: Oh, I see many since the fight started. I believe they appeared because I started the fight. I presume I didn't overlook them?

Well, I changed to a Holy Priest and he turned to a Ice Mage, but all we had to do was have him run around and do DPS while I tried my hand (yes, for the first time) at healing. We did fine once we had this set. But he IS a pain.

Seems to be bugged now - could not solo this on an 85 arcane mage ilvl369 gear. Resists virtually everything (I usually do 20-30k dps on boss fights and could barely do 2k dps on this guy), constantly hits for 300%, chain-spams knockbacks, and the crystals stopped spawning after the first 2. Physical DPS classes have it easy on this fight, casters, forget it.
Every other boss in AQ20 is a pushover at 85 btw - this one is only a problem due to the bugs preventing crystals from spawning.

I currently solo this boss in like 30 secs to 1 min. I'm a 85 tauren bear in mostly 359 T/raid gear with a blue heroic weapon/relic. All I pretty much do is go steath, open with pounce and dot him up with rake, 5 combo points to rip then switch to bear and dot him up with 3 lac and then keep all 3 dots on him along with hitting berserker and he's usually dead within 30 secs, 1 min if he knocks me back. I don't use the crystals, killed him 4 times so far and never used it once. So he's very easily tank/spank without crystals if you can do a great deal of burst. He doesn't hit me hard at all, maybe 1k the whole time. GL

As soon as I read this comment I thought: "I can do it".
I don't have an arms warrior that powerful, but ilvl 329, a 425 dps something blue weapon, I used the debuffs, otherwise he would've destroyed me, I used the crystals as soon as the previous debuff finished, used enraged regeneration once, and the fight lasted for about 2 and a half minute.
@Level 85 arms warriors: if I do this, everyone of you can do this, just clear the room before engaging ossirian in combat.
About 3200 damage without activating the crystals, about 800 activating them.

Mutliboxing tips:
Protection Paladin - 362
Holy Priest - 348
Since i knew the boss would do a knockback, i put down a lightwell on the right side 'railing' of the stairs and positioned both my paladin and my priest roughly in the little corner around the pillar so that i could not go up very high if knocked into the air, nor back as my back would be against the wall. When i got stunned, lightwell was my saviour. Had to greater heal my priest as she takes a little bit of damage. Aside from that, made sure to clear the entire area and mine the ore just for lols. Got the head and the double achieve from priest and paladin.

3rd try, if you look behind him there is what looks like a solid doorway. This 'solid' doorway has a lip on it. I stood arse against it's wall, sent minion in and just tanked him. sometimes I had to move away a bit to heal minion as they went out of range but back to arse against wall when possible. The lip meant I basically took no damage when he tried to toss me in the air.
Worked for me anyway rather than kiting him around :)

He is very easy once you know the plan. In the area where he is located there are crystal things on the ground. Basically you have someone riding ahead to find the next crystal and you lead ossirian to it, when he arrives you click the crystal and it debuffs him so that his hits arent as powerful. Just keep leading him to the next crystal while dpsing and dotting him and he will go down after a few minutes. If he hits anyone without the debuff he hits so hard that it will kill some classes in 1 hit.
Also make sure to avoid the tornadoes that blow around his area as they can do a fairly high ammount of damage

My guild just downed him tonight on our 3rd attempt. The 2nd atempt the healers couldnt get Mt because of the LoS of the pillars.
-We started the fight by a rogue on his epic pulling ossiran to the 1rst crystal. The rogue cont. to ride on his mount searching for where a crystal spawned. He would then ping it on the minimap.
-Ossirian is in a 'god'mode, where he hits like a beast
+pulling him to a crystal then opening it takes him out of 'god' mode for 45 sec, he will become vulnerable to 1 class of magic, his resistance is reduced by 100% and dmg taken increased by 100%
-There will be 2 MTs, they have to be 1rst and 2nd in threat or you will wipe. One Mt will occasionaly become engulfed in a tornado and lose aggro, then thats when the 2nd MT moves in. The MT will bring Ossirian to the next crytal, healers must be on the MTs ass and moving w/ him.
-Move Ossirian before the 45 secs is up and you should be fine.
The best part of AQ 20 is the mobs in his room, most fun eva. Just pay attention and all should be good

for some reason, ignite seems to go crazy on this guy when he is vulnerable to fire.
CoE was on him, i scorched 5 times to debuff him to fire, and then i poped combustion and the talisman of ephemeral power and pst'd a priest for power infusion...
i fireball crit'd for 6200 and ignite hit for 3700 (which wasnt mathematically correct, since ignite is supposed to be 40% total, and only 20% per tick), then i crit'd with my next fireball for 5700, resetting the ignite timer, and ignite hit for 7200, and i was like WTF? 7200? then ignite hit for the second time for 7200 and ossirian is running at me and i wipe the raid...
i thought maybe that another mage had also crit'd to make ignite stack... but then i remembered i was the only mage in the group. so, has anyone else noticed ignite hitting for a much higher percentage than normal on him? 31,000 damage in 2 fireballs because of a screwed up ignite. i calculated that instead of 40% over 4 seconds, it was doing 120% for some reason.

Killed him Friday night - Point to make on this encounter:
the Crystal gives a massive debuff to a specific spell family - 100% debuff which will continue if the next crystal debuff's him before the 30 seconds expires.
DoT's and even drain life will go up exponentially in terms of dmg. this creates huge amounts of aggro and you dont want to aggro him off the MT - slows you down from getting to the next crystal and causes more confusion. Recommend DoT's and lots of lite range dmg. Wands if possible until the 3-4th crystal and then intermittant bursts of casts and ranged dps.
Also if you get one shotted in the early portion of the fight while going to the first or second crystal, there should be more than enough time to return to the battle even if walking while in combat on the zone in. overall a really fun fight. be ready to run around is an understatement, the room (area) the fight takes place in is 2-3 times larger than the area Onyxia sits in and the pillars affect LoS with the crystal debuff.

Why should rogues do the pinging? We have a hunter do ours. And mages wont often be at the top, we've got a DPS warrior topping ours.

Two tanks. One rogue scout (rogue *must* stay mounted).
Assign at least two healers per tank.
-(druid+priest & sham/pal tertiary backup healer).
Place Amplify Damage (mage spell) on everyone.
-The +150 Healing goes a *long* way.
-There is no magical damage in this fight except the tornados.
-If you get hit by the tornado you're dead regardless.
Casters shouldn't waste mana unless it is a debuff that affects their specific type of spell.
Arcane, Nature, Fire, Frost, Shadow.
That should do it. :)

mostly right for the "Fight Description", but you need to get your facts straight. enveloping winds is what OSSIRIAN casts, NOT the sandstorm. He will cast it on the player hes agroed on randomly, so 2, if not 3 tanks are what you need for this fight. also, none of you messaged the tornados that will travel around the room. If you get caught in this tornado, your pretty much dead. its very easy to see, and very easy to avoid. rogues will NOT do "the most dmg" in this fight because Ossirian casts a thunderclap attack. it will kill them quickly, and healers cant spare the time to constantly heal them, because they need to focus on the tanks. My guild has AQ20 on farm heh, and we have twin emps down in AQ40. (
www.guild-am.com
). Hes a very fun fight, and once u get it down, hes very easy.

One rogue drop? I don't see one. I suppose at the outside you could consider the crossbow a rogue item... but I don't think it's better than Striker's Mark (or even Ancient Bone Bow).
Yes, the neck reward for handing in the head is nice, but other classes get the same love. And no sword, either... or even a sword equivalent of the Muggers Belt would be nice. Too much to hope for, I guess ^^

I don't know why all of the strategy guides say that Rogues cannot dps this guy. I know he uses an aoe thunder clap ability but it really doesn't happen to often and is very easy to bandage away every time it happens. I got really lucky when my guild did it this past weekend because Ossirian got 3 or 4 Nature vulnerabilities in a row and my Deadly Poison V was ticking in the 600's. All in all, it's a very fun fight that shows some creativity lacking in some of the earlier additions to the game.

Involves kiting the boss all around a large room near crystals that randomly rise above the ground (random by time, not by position which is consistent from attempt to attempt). Activating these cystals debuff Ossirian so that he doesnt do his normal 4k-5k damage (on cloth).
He also picks up random vulnerabilities (ala wyrmguards in BWL) and they can potentially "stack" (frost one and shadow one can be up at same time, for example). The vulnerabilities allow for 100% Damage and -100 Spell Resisitance for a particular type of spell (i.e. 100% Frost Damage and -100 Frost Resistance).
One caveat is that a sandstorm travels around the room which debuffs players with 'Enveloping Winds' if they are caught in it.

How are we gonna see where the next crystal spawns? Should we get 1 person checking the whole place or something else?

There's a much easier way to beat this guy.
Get two people to run around the edges of his courtyard and click on the crystals as fast as they can. This forces the crystals to immediately respawn in the middle of the chamber.
Everyone else fights in the middle, which is now full of crystals.
More crystals = less running = more healing + more DPS = much easier fight. This guy is pretty much a joke with this strategy.

Here's a vid demonstrating the strategy. Thanks to the Braq-Mortalis guild:

Personally I have done the fight, and it is kind of a pain for a caster since you can never sit still for more than a few seconds.

Another boss with TERRIBLE mechanics in one of the worst raids Blizz has ever designed. Spent the whole fight being cycloned, not able to fight or do anything. So unbelievably stupid.
