This is the new winged lion mount that is available from the Blizzard Store. If it's anything like the 星骓 then it will cost $25 USD and people will either love or hate it.

Submitted the screenshot that Blizz threw up on their Facebook page when they released the pewview.

The idle animations are pretty much the same as a lion's, so I wonder if it growls a lot? Much better looking than sparkle pony.

Another question is I wonder what it shares a skeleton with? Sparkle pony shares one with Invincible, so it stands to reason that they'll fo the same with this one.

I think the difference between +20 regret and +20 happiness is whether Blizzard decides to donate proceeds to the tsunami victims. I think this gesture is speculated by many, and it will make the difference on my purchase at least.

Also -- there are a ton of us out there that have more money than time. I'd rather spend my grinding time on epics that will actually help my character, and plop a few bucks down here and there for a cool cosmetic thing once in a while.

Yes i bought the Celestial Steed. I never use it, and its way to Barbie imo. But. For some people, the collector inside them, make them buy these things at the Blizzard Store.

Im just glad to see, that my next mount purchase on the Blizzard Store, actually looks pretty neat. :)

I think its quite unfair how the Celestial Steed and the Winged Guardian are both Based on Alliance mounts,i mean a Horse,and a Lion,which is the Alliance Guild Mount.

I hope the next mount you can buy is a flying Kodo :<

This is not just a lion nor is it alliance based... this is a sphinx, with the head of a lion and the body of an eagle, so it would make sence that these were intended to represent uldum in all its glory.

Obtainable via the Blizzard Store for $25.00 USD.
This is the 星骓 of Cataclysm (The Celestial Steed is also on the Blizzard Store for $25.00 USD)
Neither of these mounts give 310% flying! you must buy this in game with gold or get it from an achievement!

Both of these mounts will be sent by mail to every character you make on the account on which you redeem the code, such as:
the Core Hound Pup (熔火恶犬宝宝, which is given to everyone who uses any form of authenticator.)
Chilly the Penguin (企鹅小叽, given to all who bound their WoW accounts to Battle.net accounts.)
And the other Collector's Edition World Of Warcraft/Burning Crusade/Wrath Of The Lich King/Cataclysm.
It doesn't apear that the money made from either of these mounts is going to charity, such as the 熊猫人僧侣, or the 塞纳里奥角鹰兽宝宝

In my opinion, this mount is way too detailed and cool to be obtainable by cash. This mount could easily pass as a reward for some heroic raid meta achievement, or a very rare raid drop.
However, as this is from the blizzard store, it is likely that anyone who has this mount will be frowned upon by those who don't have it, just as the 星骓 was when it was first bought out.
As far as I know, there are no plans to re-skin it into an in-game mount, such as the Celestial Steed and 无敌的缰绳 (无敌的缰绳 being the mount that drops from Lich king 25 man).
It is likely that before long, every man and his dog will have one, just like the Celestial Steed.
That being said, all the kiddies will be moving on to this, so if you have a Celestial Steed; it might be time that you will finally be able to use it again without looking like everyone else.

Haven't checked in shadowform yet, but if you are one of those tier collectors, this mount looks godly on a Tier 5 (Avatar) priest. Just submitted 2 screenshot of my now retired priest.

In short, the Alliance mount collector could aqquire, or have aqquired the following "Horde" mounts.

A hawkstrider from MGT.
A raptor from the old ZG. (Unobtainable)
A raptor from the -New- Zg.
A raptor from Archaeology. (Its still a raptor)
A raptor from the TCG expansion War of the Elements via the Savage Raptor loot card.
A kodo from Brewfest.
A horse from Rivendare (Or whomever that kid is who replaced him)

We can get a panther, since the tiger was removed. And...A ram, which I think is the least favoured of all mounts. So it aint all that bad if we get another one, which we have to pay for as well. Yes we can obtain the Spectral Tiger, but I dislike the idea of having my legs broken by the local mafia for failing to pay them back the rather substantial purchase price. Peace,.

I've been excited for this mount since I seen the prototype from the PTR, and it's even better than I had hoped! It's large, and has an impressive wingspan. The animations are beautiful, as well. I'm also in love with the coloring, being all shades of purple with white detailing.

I've also submitted a screen shot as requested of this mount in Shadowform.

All characters get it on the account it's purchased for. If you have two or more accounts, even if their under the same Battle.Net account, only the account you used it on gets it.

All the bickering and personal taste aside, I'm wondering that no one has mentioned the most important fact yet:

"Teaches you how to summon this mount. This mount changes depending on your riding skill and location."

"And Location" means nothing else than that you can use it as a land mount, flying mount and (under)water mount! But the best thing is that you can fly directly into the water without being dismounted (for example Vashj'ir), and you can also mount up under water and fly through the water surface into the air. This makes the mount - along with the Celestial Steed, Invincible or Headless Horsemans Mount - unique.

Got this mount today after debating about it.. Looks really nice on an awesome PC, but on some crappy gfx laptop, it doesn't. However, I've only seen about 4/5 people with this mount today in Stormwind, I'm pretty certain this is going to be a mount that I will continue to use a lot. I love it!

Quick question, how is a winged wolf more unrealistic than a lion? I realize that winged lions have spread more widely, but winged wolves have been sigils/crests about as long as winged lions have. And the animals themselves aren't that different, although lions are a bit longer, both have 4 legs, a head, shoulders, etc. Basically, no, you're wrong, winged wolves aren't more unrealistic, I demand a winged wolf mount from blizzard.

There seems to be a scaling issue/bug with this mount - sometimes it's nicely large when my tauren male sits on it, and some times the tauren seems to ride a bird. Strange.

I cannot seem to find the reference, but I have read that Manticores were conjured creatures, like chimeras. Considering this is a Titan guardian, I like to think that Norgannon created them himself.

And yes, I do indeed see the resemblance to Wyverns. In fact...

If you are using Mounted addon, and you wish to make this mount compatible, do the following :

open the Data.lua file in /YourGameDirectory/Interfaces/Addons/Mounted/Libs/LibMounts-1.0

just after the line : = true, --Mottled Drake
add the line : = true, --Winged Guardian

Then, /reload ingame :)

Do you get an achievement when purchasing the mount?

I don't like the fact that achievements are bound to character and then you have to "spam" your guild chat and surronding players if you want to add an item which awards an achievement on multiple characters.

If you fly into the Underbelly in Dalaran you will get dismounted. You can then mount again and fly in certain areas while others (like the Circle of Wills) will dismount you.
