A low level easy to get bag which can be used by leather workers to make some early money in game.

Materials are very easy to get and this enables you to compete against tailors.

Obviously, Horde only unless you manage to get the pattern from a neutral AH. Even so, it's just a 6-slotter and it requires kodo leather which makes it even less attractive for Alliance.

But it's nice to be able to make the only regular bag Leatherworkers have available to them.

Where in thunderbluff is the pattern? Anyone know who to talk to? I'm an orc so I am not as familliar with that area as taurens.

The NPC doesn't talk to me. Are there any previous quest requisites? I'm level 23.

Alliance doesn't "need" this in quite the same way; none of the Tauren classes wear cloth, which makes tailors very, very rare.

You will find the quest in Thunder Bluff on the Middle Rise in Thunder Bluff Armorers. Talk to Veren Tallstrider at Cosmos Coordiantes 44,45

Requirements for the Quest that this is a reward for, are Char-LVL 10, Leatherworking Skill 10.

Don't know if skinning is required but i would guess so because you need to hand in 4xLight Leather.

The same NPC also gives out another quest at Char-LVL 8 for which you need to hand in 12xLight Leather.
Don't know if this one is a requirement either.

If you want this Pattern on Alliance-Side you will have to obtain it with a Horde-Char and then use the Gadgetzan Auction House to swap it over to your Alliance-Char. This is possible because Patterns as quest rewards aren't BOP.

You will most likely not see this one at the Gadgetzan AH too often, because Horde players will use this pattern for themselves since leatherworking is required for the quest and you can only do the quest one time.

I killed the guy, Veren Tallstrider, and he didnt drop the pattern. So the only way is to get it from the Gadgetzan auctionhall.

Really, who cares?

You can sell 10 light leather at AH for minimum 20s. The cost of making the bag and selling it is too small to even care about - I mean come on, it's a 6 slot bag - whoopee!

You make more selling the leather - now if it was a 14 or 16 slot container then OK gimme the pattern but a 6 slot....again....who cares.

True, early-game mobs drop better bags than this, but you're missing one thing.

It's a bag. You can make. With LEATHERWORKING.

The fact is, it's the only bag that can be made with Leatherworking in the game, making it more of a curiosity item than a utility item. People want the recipie just so they CAN make it, not because they're actually going to use it.

1) so what if tauren classes aren't limited to cloth and tend not to be tailors? (mind you they ARE able to wear cloth... just that they generally choose not to being proficient in an armor class up to leather).
but so what? you don't see all that many cloth-wearing dwarves running around either. you've still got plenty of undead, orc, and troll character classes around who DO wear only cloth and undoubtedly a good number of them are tailors. which means... you don't "need" per se the dumb thing either.

Ok people lets think realisticly, supposing you get this pattern (for whatever reason u need access to it.) The alliance zones are just so chuck full of Kodos arent they that gathering the mats would be np at all >.>

I WILL get this pattern, I WILL make Kodo Hide Bags and I WIll Sell them on Alliance AH for whatever price they sell for just to know that MY name is on every one that sells.
My rep as a LW is gained by selling items that I make. If someone wants a unique Leather Bag they can buy one from me for the same as any 6 slot cloth bag. Its a simple matter of WHY NOT, why do ppl grind for rep with Timbermaws, Cenarion Hold etc.? To get something that is rare or unique to their profesion (and as Alliance LW this is very rare pattern!). Getting this pattern is easy compared to getting any of the patterns that require any faction rep and at a much lower lvl too!

I only wanted to make a statement of fact that a neutral AH is located in Gadgetzan as mentioned above as well as in Winterspring and Booty Bay.

The Booty Bay AH is far easier to reach as a low-level Horde char if you start in Mulgore or Durotar. Head to Ratchet, hop the boat and disembark in BB.

Just be sure not to strike any alliance that may taunt you as the Gadgetzan goblins will smite you with a quick vengence. Just a friendly tip.

Alliance-Wheenies, get a grip. There are more cooking recipes than I bother to count, which are not only Alliance only, but which have no such thing like a pendant on Horde-Side.
Please don't pull of some @#$% like "question of balance, seems unfair,..." if you really want this recipe roll a horde-char (tauren) chose skinning and leatherworking, play for about 3h to get the level, the job-skill and a passage to BB-AH and sell it to your friend, which will hand it to you.

After all, you are Alliance, means you are playing Easy-Mode from the beginning. You don't belive me? Come and see for yourself. Roll a Hord-Char and have a look. Alliance has Quest-Lines telling much more detailed Stories, get's cool Item-Drops you never see as Horde, get Quests as incentive to learn fishing (an then some more quests to keep the fishing-skill going), to learn cooking, etc.
If you have never tried yourself, believe me, i've seen both worlds: Horde has its minutes, but go Alliance for interesting Storylines, and really cool Quest-Events. Horde starting Areas are just dull (usefull but dull) in comparison.

So yes, you found at long last ONE thing that Horde has above Allinace: a 6 slot LW-Bag. *cheer*
Tell you what, my lw can make them (but never made even one because you have to hunt for kodo's which is boring and of no other use then for kodo-leather which has no worth besides you can use it for those bags noone wants), and i hate it! I always wanted to make my own bags, all bags that drop, your unchangable backpack even the damn Tailor's Bags LOOK LIKE LEATHER! The Bagdrops are even Leatherbags BY NAME: Snakeskin Bag Troll-hide Bag White Leather Bag Murloc Skin Bag

The first half of my way to lvl60 (and lw300) I watched for bag recipes, because if there is a "Kodo Hide Bag", there must be more, somewhere... in the end I started my own tailor-twink for bags alone, because big bags are king and the tailors on my server knew to keep a stiff prize for anything bigger then 10slots.

Ok... I have an Alliance character who is a LW. I KNOW THE BAG IS USELESS. But the point is I want to get every pattern I can no matter how useless it is. Those Comfortable Insoles do absolutely nothing but I got the pattern for those just for the sake of saying "I can make them." Other people are like this too; they want it just to say they have it. There are so many comments on here about "how stupid can you get" or "you all are idiots for trying to get this." I don't intend to use this pattern but I still want it just to have it. I'm going to level a Horde character just to get it.
Not to mention, why do you people care why we want the pattern; the point is we want it. If a priest goes to a BS with correct mats for a plate item and asks him to craft it, he's not going to say no just because it's a priest asking. He's going to craft it for him. If we want the pattern for Kodo Hide Bag even though tailors can make better bags, why is that your business? Why do you have to call us stupid or idiots for wanting it.
The main point is, we want the pattern (NOT why we want the pattern but that we do). And if you want it bad enough, level a Horde character and get it.

i just want to verify, you CAN still get this via the neutral AH; the recipe is NOT soulbound after a horde LW recieves it

i got the recipe roughly a week ago (so very recently) from a friend and paid him handsomely for his troubles...

on a side note, to all the alliance complaining that we should get leather bag recipes, c'mon, we've alrdy been over this, the bag is specified for tauren who have very few tailors cuz no taurens wear cloth, and altho i'm sure even still practically no one makes the bag anyway, if anyone should have it is them (granted i feel both factions should be able to get most if not all recipes of the other, just much work and personal sacrifice should be involved)

and to all the horde complaining this recipe is impractical and alliance shouldnt be able to and shouldnt want to get it, well no $%^& its impractical! u can pick up a 6 slot bag on the AH for like 5 silver, but again its the principle of the thing that u have all the recipes u possibly can... don't sweat it, its nothin personal, it's just a collectors thing... i mean i'm PRETTY sure makin a horde leather bag isnt gonna allow all alliance to perma-invis and sneak into ogrimmar and slaughter everybody in a matter of seconds hehe

As far as I can tell this is HOrde only, saying you have to get it a a quest from a Horde NPC.... Kinda get the shaft if you are Alliance. Leather working at 234 at the tim of posting.

Most (not all) 烹饪 recipes on the Alliance side are sold by 肯多尔·卡邦卡. The Horde do not have a corresponding NPC, so if you are an Alliance character wanting to create an alt on the opposite side to obtain the recipes for your main, unfortunately you'll have to have a level appropriate character to do the quests to obtain some of these recipes.

In my case, the quest giver did not have an ! above his head ... however, when I talked to him the quest was available.
