Nearly positive this drops from the new headless horseman coming up soon. This sword has great speed, great stats, and a pretty cool looking use, which only has a short 10 minute cooldown. The blade itself looks like a low level sword with fiery on it, yet it still delivers. Great for starting out 70s or even 70s that dont' want to spend honor/ badges or have not yet had the chance to raid.

Actualy it is like a Spiteblade and all other blades for "Karazhan" level. So, this blade is realy good if you are not raider and you can get it easier.
Althouh, it has the same stats as Spiteblade, we must not forget on unique ability to call pumpking soldiers, which is nice addition to RP and maybe in power if those are strong...

This will probably be a drop from the headless horseman for the 2008 hallows end event in SM graveyard. If its anything like last years , expect about a 3%-5% chance drop rate.

It's also very likely that will be a drop during this years headless horseman event in SM but its best to expect a lower drop rate than this sword.

A quick question, but i clicked on the appropriate "effects" link, and did not notice anything stating how long these "pumpkin soldiers" stay out once summoned. I am guessing that it would be the same as Felsteel Boar and others like it. Could someone please respond to this. Thanks.

Personally i think they should have made this a caster item because they already have a plate melee item so why add more melee

First day of the 2008 event: Did ~10 runs with my group (swapped out some alts) and this sword dropped twice. Probably RNG'd a little luck there, and would speculate ~5% drop rate.

When you summon them it looks roughly like having 3 sinister squashlings at your side for ~30 seconds. They shoot fireballs doing under 200 damage each. For understandable reasons (arena) you can't spam these similar type items like Barov's Peasant Caller etc at the same time.

Summons 3 pumpkins which does about 40dmg melee dmg and shoots Pumpkin Blasts which does about 150dmg/each, they can do critical hits too.
Its a really cool sword ^^

And, most importantly, the summons DO NOT despawn when you swap the weapon back out, which makes this a must-have for any hardcore player. I'll be popping this at the beginning of every arena match from now on then switching to my 2Her. Until it gets nerfed, anyway.

EDIT: Can't be used in arena. Bah.

Enchants do not over ride the glow that comes on the sword.
Also i have submitted 2 screenshots, one of the sword, one of the use effect

I was taking screenshots of this and the summoned pumpkins, they have a large aggro radius and apparently can see stealth, as soon as I summoned them they started to throw balls of fire at a stealthed rogue, which to say the least was rather amusing, being a gnome rogue at that (with pink hair).

Excellent sword. Same stats as Spiteblade as mentioned above. In my personal expierience, I have seen this drop once out of about 18 summons. His helm has dropped 3 times and the broom has dropped about 1/5 of the time. Hard to get as of it's rare drop rate but much easier than trying to get spiteblade from Kara.

On a positive note, it's gotta be teriffiying for lowbies to see 1 guy standing there alone then summoning a horde of evil pumpkins to attack you as he flies off on the horsemans reins. * imagines all of the evil possibilities*

Does 125 DPS over 30 seconds, or: 6.25 dps if you spam every 10 minutes. You should use it at the beginning of a fight. A macro really doesn't work. You'll have to wait a little bit before you equip your main-hand again.

This got to be one of the cleanest and meanest looking blades in game.
They should give that designer a raise....cos most of their weapons look like carnival accessories.

If you want to use this sword in instances, please be very careful where mobs are tightly packed. The pumpkin soldiers can aggro unwanted mobs.

very funny fight alltough i did loose
tobad it shares cd with Brightbrew Charm and gnome trinket
or else i would have an small army... go figure

The Horseman's Blade is an epic main-handed sword.

Drops from Headless Horseman, a summonable boss during the Hallow's End seasonal event.

It has the same stats as Spiteblade, but can also summon 3 Pumpkin Soldiers. The ability is on a cooldown, but the Pumpkin Soldiers will persist for awhile and can deal large amounts of damage to foes they attack.
While they follow the wielder of the sword around, they are independent and will automatically aggro foes in the area. They provide the user with a lot of DPS, but at the risk of drawing unwanted threat.

Not available in the game anymore :( but, if you've already got it from previous years (like me! :D because I don't sell my shinies) you can still use it. Freakin sweet sword if you're going for visual appeal, but as for usefulness, if you're higher than 70, you've already got better weaponry. Best kept as a keepsake, or something to sit around Orgrimmar/Stormwind and gloat about.

The skin has been changed recentley. I have this weapon and was looking forward to mogging it in 4.3 with the original skin as pictured here. Alas it now shares the same skin as 无头骑士的凶神战刃

Also 寡妇利刃 which also had this skin has reportedly been reskinned to 无头骑士的凶神战刃 also. (Without the fire effect I assume)

I'm slightly bitter about this. Small a change as it is. It's almost like someone thought. "Wait, this sword's skin is way too cool. Let's make it look really average"

EDIT 4.3 live has returned back to the original skin. I should think so too. :)

34 kills deep with friends rotating summons. Is The Horseman's Blade in? We've seen 2 helmets and 0 swords.

So I take it you cannot transmog this sword? I got it yesterday on a toon that CAN use it and it WAS added to my transmog list.. but I went to go trasmog it so I could actually see it and it's not even on the transmog list... so..... is this a glitch on Blizzard's part or is it simply NOT transmogable?

Has a terrible droprate. Was farming it since day 1 of the event and only got it on my 77th kill, according to DBM. I am not a raider (so far) and this is the best weapon you can get without raiding.
Additional info: Mongoose enchant is not visible on this. I guess it is because it already has a default glowing effect. Strange because other swords can "combine" their glow effects with enchant visuals.
