One of the original Night Elf epic mounts in the game. It was rendered unpurchasable when they added the current epic mount graphics into the game about 4 or 5 months after release for the non-undead races. Players with these mounts had the option to turn it in for one of the new styles, or keep the one they had.

"Level 60 mounts purchased at vendors now have a whole new look. Faster undead mounts already have a different look and so have not changed. The new mounts can be seen standing near the mount vendors. If you have one of the old fast mounts, you can exchange it for one with a new look at the mount vendor."

Just to clarify, these mounts were pre-bc, and you had to be at least a Knight Leuitenant at level 40 to get this. To get the title, you had to hardcore PvP since you were able to get into any PvP, like Warsong or Arathi Basin. Also, you had to get a specific number of "Lifetime Kills" or "Honor". Sadly, these mounts were removed and those who were able to get them have a choice to keep what they have and/or trade it in to get the "new mounts" (Swift Frostsaber, Swift Stormsaber, Swift Mistsaber). Upon contact with the Saber Handler in Darnassus, the player with the Nightsaber/Frostsaber has the ability to trade his/her mount in. The trade "quest" is available to see on all players, but can only be "completed" if they have the mount. Once traded, the player's new mount can NO LONGER BE EXCHANGED BACK INTO A NIGHT/FROSTSABER. Once again, this mount is no longer acquirable and is a trademark that "I'm not a noob, I've been here since pre-bc!" and "I'm the PvP god of Pre-BC"!

i feel like such a !@#$ing idiot now, i bought a armored swift frostsaber recently, and i saw people riding the ones that aren't armored around, and i saw the quests that the lady gave u, Frostsaber replacement, Nightsaber replacement. i thought that it let u replace your armored cat with a nightsaber/frostsaber but since it wouldn't let me do the quest i thought u had to be exalted with darn to get a 100% speed one that wasn't armored, so i bought a bunch of runecloth and &*!@ for cloth turn ins and did a bunch of quests and i got to exalted and it still wouldn't let me do it so i looked here and figured out this, and i spent so much money on runecloth on this too........... oh well i should've payed more attention

i was so crushed when i found out u cant get it anymore. the only non armoured kitty with 100% speed is the purple Winterspring one, which u have to quest to get repu for.. and it takes years.. xD

Okay since no one seems to read the middle messages, here's the deal with this mount.

At release this was the Epic mount for Night Elves. It was available for purchase for less than 6 months until it was replaced. I know this because the first time I quit WoW it was just before my 6 month subscription (from release) expired. Also, because a friend of mine borrowed gold like crazy to get one before they were phased out, which was just before I quit.

The people who have them now are those who bought them way back when and did not turn them in for the newer armored mounts. Unless someone has one that hasn't been used (they were BoE) you can't get one.

Because there are still many players who HAVE this mount. They chose to never turn them in for one of the He-Man versions we're all stuck with.

This mount is certainly in the game, therefore, it's in the live database. You just can't get one, if you don't have one already.

if you want to see one in the game look at the guards in darnassus. this would be a really cool mount, one of the coolest i've ever seen... stupid blizzard.

Ive Done It during the brewfest they opend the quest for 1 week,there for i got the mount traded my armored one in and btw get to 70 and its very easy to get the winterspring mount Just so ya know * Im Lucky* /) /)

This Mount used to be buyable before the 1.4 patch in Classic WoW.

It is one of the 14 unarmored Mounts that have been made unavailable with that patch.

Interestingly enough, the 亡灵 are the only race that didn't have any unarmored versions. This is because they've already had the armored versions in that patch.
