to turn in this quest you need to go to 66,56 in a small cave looking area. down in the Life Vault Ruins
and question mark of the npc only shows up when close

The quest turn-in marker may show up on the road at the top of the stairs, if so, ignore that location. The actual turn-in is in a cave-like area. The entrance of the cave is 66.78, 56.34 and it's on the lower level. You can just run past the "Unsettled Rubble" fighting at the entrance. This comment also applies to your other quest, Unearthed Troublemakers.

Hi all

I present You Storyline Beyond the Barrier. This Storyline is part of Sojourner of the Waking Shores which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Quests in order I done:

1a. Site Salvage - Quest from Elementalist Taiyang 66.04 58.15. Rescue 5 Beleaguered Explorers: /way 67.51 57.93 /way 67.85 57.89 /way 66.36 56.74 in tower /way 66.15 55.55 in the hole /way 66.86 54.97
1b. Unearthed Troublemakers - Slay 12 Earth Elementals
1c. A Key Element - From 1st mob i kill doing quest 1a+1b i loot Orb of Primal Stone that give me this Quest. Return with quest 1a+1b to cave /way 66.77 56.32
4a. Rapid Fire Plans - Loot from mobs 8 Primal Flame Fragment them use it to make Orb of Primal Flames.
4b. Distilled Effort - Fly to cave 70.66 56.66 and Slay Acequian to get Orb of Primal Waves.
4c. Lofty Goals - First speak with Scout Ri'tal 70.62 63.15 then avoiding small tornadoes go to speak with Scout Francisco 70.13 61.54. then same avoiding small tornadoes, use air throw to jump and collect Orb of Primal Gales 68.31 61.49.
7. Let's Get Theoretical - First speak with Elementalist Taiyang then wait until all of them will use element on barrien then Blue circle on the ground will appear stand on it and use extra bar.
8. Beyond the Barrier - Get inside room Slay Discordant Watcher and pick up Fragmented Record Rubbing next to wall 66.11 55.02 then go out and see Elementalist Taiyang in camp 65.81 57.42 That will finish Storyline.

The NPC dialogue that takes place during this quest:

Elementalist Taiyang says: Wow, I'm going to need a lot of help to get out of THIS mess...
Elementalist Taiyang says: I'm going down to the vault to establish a new safe perimeter. Once you've dealt with the elementals, see me at the vault!

The player approaches several Beleaguered Explorers to tell them to go to the safety of the vault. They will give one of the following gossip interactions when spoken with:

I was just minding my own business and WHAM! There were elementals everywhere!

It started when they tried to dispel the barrier... something's in there!

Don't hit me, don't! Oh! You're not an elemental... Thank goodness!

The elementals on are a rampage! Going after us, going after our tools... I lost months of my work in one smash!

What do I do now?

I thought the discoveries we made here would be worth the danger...

Now I'm not so sure!

Did... did you see the watcher roaming around? There's creatures of living rocks and stones all over the dig site...

I write about rocks. Sometimes I lick them to see what they are! But I don't want to be pummeled by them!

Is it over? No. Of course it's not. It won't be until we dispel the barrier!

Even then, there might be something worse inside.

Oh, I should not have left my position at the college...

This quest bugged for me today. I had 4 out of 5 progress, then suddenly I could no longer interact with the Beleaguered Explorers. I tried relogging, nothing. I abandoned the quest and picked it up again, nothing. I abandoned again, hearthed to Valdrakken, flew back and picked up - still nothing. It's the last chapter I need for Waking Shores loremaster.

Description

I've worked with many elementals as a shaman, but I've never seen any this aggressive! The Expedition discovered a titan vault here, but a barrier protects the inner chamber. When we tried to dispel the barrier, I think we triggered some kind of security system... There were suddenly angry elementals everywhere! Many explorers were working in the dig site when the elementals attacked. Many of them are trapped, and NONE of them are fighters. Please go down into the dig site and help them retreat!
