To get this recipe, a Level 9+ Blacksmith must go to Ironforge. At the center, over the great forge, you'll find Tormus Deepforge. He'll give you a quest called "Gearing Redridge" The quest is to bring 4 Runed Copper Belts, and 4 Heavy Copper Mauls to Verner Osgood in Redridge (East of Elwynn Forest)

The recipe requires a smithing skill of 100 to learn.

the whole quest is ridiculous. YOu need 4x12 copper + other materials for the Mauls and 4x10 copper for the belt. 88 copper @ 5s each is almost 5G at the AH... 5G at these levels can get you alot of awesome equipment. armour has sweet stats though... if you can buy the plans then do it.

You actually get the quest for this at level 16.

The recipy isnt worth while for profit at all. You're better off just selling the 16 copper bars that it needs to make.

The armor is great though, I've been doing L20-22 elite quests, and there are drops with the same (or less) stats with 30 or more less armor.

If you're doing blacksmithing, you need to skill up anyway. Yes, to complete the quest costs 88 copper bars plus 8 light leather plus some other minor mats, but you also get 8 skillups out of it: assuming you're doing this quest at ~50 blacksmithing skill you're going to have to spend 60+ copper bars for 8 skillups anyway, so might as well spend a small premium and get XP and a new set of plans to boot. If you know about this quest ahead of time you can make the items at a lower BS and character level and then save them for later to turn in the quest.

Once you've skilled up past BS 65, though, there are much more efficient ways to increase your skill level (such as coarse sharpening & grinding stones) so the value of this quest drops off substantially, unless you really want those plans for some reason.

was lvl 10 warrior when i got this, think I was lower than 70 blacksmithing but cant be sure.
