This talent is often considered to be the single best pvp ability available to priests, above and beyond pain suppression, discipline's "poor man's cloak of shadows." If you stack it with martyrdom (clearcasting when crit) and blessed recovery (+25% of your hp returned over 6 seconds when crit), you have some pretty incredible defensive talents that will really help you in the arena.

It's also important to note that one of the initial complaints against blessed recovery was that the healing component would reset every time you were crit, so it was entirely possible never to receive a single tick of healing over the talent's 6 second duration if you were hit with a string of melee or ranged critical strikes (re: rogues and hunters). Blessed resilience's 6 second immunity also allows blessed recovery to heal you fully.

I'm also not sure if this is true or not, but people have been reporting that the stat itself, resilience, is added after talents are taken into account. So, for example, if you had enough resilience to reduce your chance to be crit against by 5%, and opponents had a 10% damage reduction to their crits, those hits that would otherwise have been crits have a chance to proc blessed resilience.

Blessed Resilience is an extremely good talent and used by almost every high rated PvP priests in a talent build like 28/33 (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/talent=bxrMuhMpMZfVtucMoV0h)

Just out of curiosity, if a rogue was to use Cold Blood at this time of "crit immunity", would the rogue crit or not?

Blessed Resilience has gone by the wayside since the introduction of Focused Will. It never really provided sufficient protection for priests, because it is so easy to purge or dispel off and much harder to get back up than Focused Will due to the 60% proc rate on a critical hit. With the introduction of a dispel effect on Arcane Shot and the mana cost reduction on Spellsteal, it's even more subpar than it used to be in this regard.

As long as Focused Will exists, I doubt Blessed Resilience builds will ever be popular again. No one likes to be a punching bag, and be terrible at it to boot, only to enter Spirit of Redemption a.k.a. "Healing Form."

Priest's are going to LOVE this talent if a warrior pops the new Recklessness on you and/or gets a Sudden Death proc, which will probably happen quite a bit.

I'm thinking to use this for PvE instead of empowered healing when 3.1 releases. i'm using 3 points of empowered healing which increases Greater/Flash/Binding Heal. Also as tooltip, only affects the bonus healing part. This seems increase the total healing (base heal amount + spellpower + other bonuses), also increse all heal spell like CoH/Renew/PoM. I'm using these often, so maybe worth. I'll go test this soon.

Does anyone know what is meant in the new talent change (3.1) by "the effectiveness of your healing spells"? Does this mean that all my spells will heal for 1% more for each talent point spent?

This talent is nearly mandatory for any PvE specced Holy Priest.

That would be 3% extra healing on every spell other than PoM. Anybodies PoM proccing on you will get 3% stronger because of you having BR but your PoMs proccing on anyone else will not as they don't have it.

I'm trying reeeaalll hard to tell if you are mean something else here. But I don't see it. Someone else's PoM proccing on you will not get your 3% bonus from your BR. Vice versa, your PoM's will have a 3% bonus proccing on anyone because as the tooltip says: Increases the effectiveness of your healing spells

Bottom line this effects ALL your healing spells including your PoM, (I still have no idea what you're trying to say up there)

The real question here is if it's actually worth getting at the cost of other talents.

Resilience can cause crit-reliant talents* to proc from normal hits even while Blessed Resilience is active.

* Blessed Recovery, Martyrdom, Focused Will, and Blessed Resilience (refresh).

60% chance when you are crit from ranged, spells, or melee attacks that you cannot be crit for the next 6s.

For a 3 point talent this is such a dramatic boost in survivability for a priest class against melee classes primarily. Warriors and rogues rely on hard-hitting crits to burn you down quickly, but with this talent it effectively denies them that capability.

Rogues/Warriors untalented get a passive 100% damage bonus when they crit and 120% talented.

This talent even overrides coldblood!

Imho, investing points in this talent gives you more survivability than shadow form does against other classes.
