For PvE, healers always love more spirit, and if you have the improved version, all casters get 10% of their spirit added to their spell damage/healing, so this definitely has a raiding use.

In PvP its still useful if you can stay alive long enough for mana regen to matter, and again, spell damage/healing is always good.

On Rank 2 - 6 they really should clasify this as a talent instead of a trainer. It gets confusing for new priest to think that they can actually learn this at the trainer vs. having to spec into this talent to get it in the first place!

If you choose to specc 2/2 Improved Spirit buff, this buff will also give 80 Spell power to whoever you throw it on. (100% of the spirit gained from the buff = spellpower) So basically a great improvement since it now gives a high spell power ammount regardless of your current spirit.

Improved Divine Spirit as a waste of a talent point in a high-end raiding situation, however.

Divine still maintains itself as the best spirit buff compared to the one DKs, however this spell power buff is inferior by leaps and bounds to the flame-tongue weapon buff shamans totems give. And for ele shamans, totem of wrath trounces improved divine spirit.

It's basically a waste of two talent points that could be better used in so many other places in the disc priest tree.

Applying a Divine Spirit of Rank 5 after applying the Rank 6 version, your able to have 2 buffs of Divine Spirit, which is something that is useful in arena for example, though the second buff doesnt improve your spirit, but it still makes a great dispel fodder. And who doesnt like to keep their PW:S up for a couple of more seconds against a trigger happy dispeller?

Edit: Fixed in 3.2, aka not possible anymore

Seriously, this spell's great. You can never have enough mana regen, and with it I regen a whole crapload using Meditation. Fun fun fun.

Where do i learn this spell? Cuz at lvl 40 the trainer says i can learn rank 2, but i haven't been able to learn rank 1 at the trainer...

Creepindeath, I've been looking for the same thing and finally figured it out with the help of my WoW reference manual and several websites. Here's the deal:

You can't get Divine Spirit 2 from the trainer until you've selected Divine Spirit on the Discipline Talent tree. The prerequisites on the talent tree are 3 points in Meditation and 20 points in Discipline, so you have to really be a Discipline priest if you want Divine Spirit.

Thott is not as thorough as they could be for spells. They SHOULD indicate in the description whether it is limited to certain races, and as here, that it requires a specific talent choice to start it. (they have a code for races, but I haven't found the key to the codes)

One clue in Thott is that when you see the list of spells and their ranks, if Rank 1 has no cost to learn, it is almost certainly going to be a talent choice.

Is this a race ability? I can train the rank 2 version, but I need the rank 1 version first. Is the aquired on a quest or through talent points maybe?

This rank requires your target to be at least level 20 or higher.

Divine Spirit follows a pretty simple pattern of 10 levels between being able to cast a new rank on a target.
I couldn't find any good sources on what levels were required for each rank so below I've compiled a list of all ranks and their respective level requirements on your targets:

神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 20 or higher to cast.
神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 30 or higher to cast.
神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 40 or higher to cast.
神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 50 or higher to cast.
神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 60 or higher to cast.
神圣之灵 requires your target to be at least level 70 or higher to cast.
