First off, Destiny is crafted. Secondly, no.

They are just like a level 60 lockbox. They don't drop epics etc, it's like the loot table of a level 60 rare (will always drop a green, sometimes a blue, and rarely an epic).

They are found in most raid dungeons, off trash.

Requires level 225 lockpicking.

Kind of lame now. Drops old world greens. Guess you could vendor the green, but the disenchant isn't nearly as worth it because you won't get arcane dust.

I just came accross a problem when i had a rogue unlock it for me. i tried to open it and a message popped up saying i dont have permission to loot the corpse and the lockbox disappeared from my inventory. new problem or old?

according to a rogue I saw in Ironforge general chat, mithril and above only require 225 picking skill. This might have changed since the time that he said it, but it's possible that it's still true. This only holds true for boxes that drop randomly, not picked or instance chests.

One dropped for us in UBRS I won the roll & had quite some luck it had a pattern for Mooncloth shoulders inside. These are the only lockboxes that have blues inside at least.. Correct me if wrong. Cheers.

Eternium lockboxes can be opened by any rogue skill lvl 275 or higher. Did it myself, and you canr ead the Rogue FAQ if you care.

Anyways one of these dropped the plans for Bottomless Bags for us :)

i got one of these off of belinda in AV, droped some blacksmithing plans i sold and a 58 shield that DCed into 3 greater eternal essences so i was happy, seems like more blues would be apropriat for something this rare

Got the plans for stronghold gauntlets from this lockbox in ubrs... so this lockbox isnt a &*!@ one for everyone :D .... i was lucky on getting it with the help of the guild named SCUM on there raid... anyways my name is zumi on the server cho'gall(orc warrior) and will be crafting it so send me a msg in game if you would like a set made!

Got one of these from an Ogre in Nagrand. Got it opened by a mate and got Pattern: Mooncloth Circle So i'm pretty damn happy!

Got one of these suckers last night farming dragons near Grim Batol.

My expectations were low, having just gotten a Star Ruby out of a Thorium Lockbox. Well, I got around to opening it just now, and wow, what a surprise!

Not one, but TWO things.. A level 60 green sword, which I have never seen before ("Holy War Sword of..") and a Scarlet Kris! That just made my day, and I'm a very happy panda right about now =)

I have at least two dozens of these junk. I usually destroy them in Outland coz I dunno how to open them. What skill do I need to open them, anyway. I'm level 68 and this item easy come, easy go by destruction.

Yes but the MAJORITY of these are dropping star ruby. The odds are bugged (I just got my 3rd Star Ruby from my 3rd ever Et. Lockbox). Star ruby should be beyond the loot table of this lockbox.

Lockboxes and chests can be opened by rogues using the 开锁 skill learned at level 16. Your max level lockpicking skill is determined by the level of your character. The basic formula is 'char level x 5'. So, a level 16 rogue will have a max lockpicking level of 80, a 17 rogue would be 85 and so on up to a (currently) maximum of 300.

Once you have learned the lockpicking skill, you will also need a set of 潜行者工具. You do not need to buy these, you should receive them during the 'lockpicking' quest.
Once the quest is completed, you can place the 开锁 onto your toolbar from inside your spellbook. You then click this button and then click the lockbox/chest you wish to open.
As with most levelling professions, the items you want to unlock will be colour coded with the relevant chance of gaining a level point:- The word 'locked' will be red, orange, yellow, green or grey.

Red = Skill level too low
Orange = 100% chance of gaining a skill point
Yellow = Good chance of gaining a skill point
Green = A slight chance of gaining a skill point
Grey = No chance of gaining a skill point

Lockboxes can also be opened by using a skeleton key created by blacksmiths. These are NOT to be confused with the 骷髅钥匙 which is used to open the entrance to the Scholomance instance.

The table below shows the minimum lockpicking skill level required to open each type of lockbox and which blacksmith skeleton key will open it (if possible).
