T8's 2piece set bonus is total garbage if you ask me.
Deadly poison procs every 3 sec... that's 20 times every min.
means 20 energy every minute!

Yes, the bonus is garbage, but it would still be 20 more energy/min than we had before...

Also, the gem of this set isn't the energy, but the rupture effect. I would assume that the chance for a rupture critical strike is equal to your melee critical strike, and so fist and dagger combat rogues will be greatly rewarded.

And even if you aren't fist or dagger spec, mutilate rogues have to have a rupture on their target to use HfB, so this helps you all out too.

From my original (wowhead PTR) post:

"Ummm. You must like nasty stuff. If you notice: 2 pieces Bonus states: Your Deadly Poison causes you to gain 1 energy each time it deals damage.

Again. That equates to this spell: Energized which states: Grants 1 energy when Deadly Poison deals damage.

Deadly Poison IX cycles for a max 12 seconds (unless refreshed), and deals damage about every 3 seconds (equating to 4 energy in 12 seconds). The 3 second interval refreshes itself with every successful application. It does not stack a new 3 second interval atop the first interval, thus chaining the damage procs to occur more than ONCE every THIRD second.

Now, if Deadly Poison procs damage when it is successfully applied, then yes: you will gain 1 more energy each successful application. A 30% chance of occurring per successful melee hit.

-(Any mathematicians that can equate a round about figure for 30% application success in a PvE encounter?)-

So no. I would say we have to agree with the above posters and hope Blizzard was just joking with this one, as I don't believe even counting a 30% application success with damage would bring this on par with other prior tier bonuses.

The Rupture-less cycle for Mutilate will be higher dps until you get the 4pc bonus. Once you can get it, it will be worth taking. Assuming you have a 50% crit rate in raid environment, it's a fairly massive increase to Rupture's output. Assuming you have Blood Spatter (you should) and glyphed (your mut, why not?), Rupture for Mut spec currently does around the same as median for Envenom would. With it's ability to crit, it will do astounding amounts of damage, and will become mandatory to keep up.

As a HAT spec in raids, I cannot wait for this 4pc. Rupture already can out damage a single Eviscerate crit, letting it crit will be a godsend and further validate my keeping it rolling.

Only he says. Quick math for you. Current rupture dmg x1.5 (again assuming the 50% crit, which raid rogues should be around). As HAT with my higher AP than other 2 specs, Rupture does around 14.5k (glyphed + 3/3 Serrated Blades), if half the ticks crit, that's 21.7k. No other rogue ability can do anywhere near that much damage, let alone for a mere 25 energy.

I love the way the T8 helms appear. It finally makes us look as if we are death-dealers. Granted, it looks out of place without the rest of the armor on, but once people begin getting matching gear, it will really make rogues stand out. I already love this helm graphic more than any other rogue helm.

I personally like this helm, rogues shouldn't have helms that make them look 'pretty', they should have mysterious and spooky helms. Rogues are mysterious people...

This has got to be the ugliest helm we've ever had. It looks like Zombie Dracula. Why can't they make something kick-ass looking? I sort of liked how T4 looked.

The helm you are thinking of is the Mask of Distant Memory that drops in heroic ToC. The exact ranking between the two items is likely to be based on your current Hit rating, since the Mask has +Hit and Terrorblade has +Haste. A comparison between the two yields

16 Crit Rating (0.34%)
59 Haste (1.8%)

Terrorblade likely wins here, although it's a small enough gap that if you were to have the Mask drop for you (as I just did), you might consider prioritizing your badge purchases towards other (larger upgrade) items first.
