I love this thing. You can aim where you plant the banner, so you can plant it on an enemy players corpse, kinda like the Flag of Ownership.
This banner lasts for 3 minutes and has a 3 minute cooldown, so it can be put up constantly.
The only thing that annoys me about these banners is that they cannot be used in combat.

For clarity, this is a banner that you summon and set on the ground. Think of it like a racially proud Archmage Vargoth.

This item provides no combat bonus.
This item is permanent.
It can be used anywhere. Indoor/Out.

If you can't decide if you want it or not, a few things to think about...
1. It's the only vanity item you can purchase on your first day as champion (for MOST people...some people might get lucky with a wonky server reset).
2. Take it for a test run. Don't forget, in 3.1 you can sell back your item to get the marks back from it. If you decide you don't like it, sell it back and get back your fifteen champion's seals.

Here is some more information on the banner:

1. There is a cooldown for 3 mins.
2. The banner will last for 3 mins before it fades away.
3. There is no cast time, so you can be walking and set it up without stopping.
4. From what I can tell, the banner is permanent where ever you set it up. For example I set mine up in one of the banks in Dalaran, ran through the city to the other bank and sat in there for a good while and returned to the original bank and the banner was still there.

Following was observed:

1. Undercity Banner de-spawned by itself after 3mins + ~5 secs from first cast.
2. Putting down a different faction's banner de-spawned first banner (though this may be simply attributed by it's own de-spawn rate of ~3 mins anyway.
3. Different faction's banners all share the same 3min cooldown.

I am glad I can return this item for the Champion's Seals by virtue of the fact that they were not permanent (at least for me) as well as I cannot have multiple factions banners up at one time.

I will keep my Thunderbluff Banner because representing heritage is key :)

Do you mean no matter how far you run away, it'll still be there, or was that just a mistake?

I wish this item was a banner that you carried rather than an item you planted in the ground... Would be awesome running around showing all others that the forsaken rules :D

Suggested use:

Kill all the auctioneers in Stormwind and the plant the banner in the middle of their auction house.

But I do wish the duration was longer than 3 minutes. In some areas, if you gank someone, it will take them longer than 3 minutes to run to their corpse, so they will never even see the banner.
