Wastewalker Gloves drop in normal, but the rate is abyssmal.
It took me 2 days of instancing Shattered Halls nonstop to get the drop. But I did, and they are the best pre-raiding Bear Tanking gloves in the game, with great dodge and stamina, and the sockets allow for them to be even better. Greater than the Verdant Gloves quest reward for tanking.

The Bear Tanking Gear List lists them as the greatest damage mitigation in game at the moment.

Best rogue/druid Warsong flag running gloves till you hit level 78 because of the stamina and two gems that will give you 40 resilience.

Great pvp hunters gloves, 33 stam and 2 sockets to boot.

Edit; ya, they are leather, I saw the stats and assumed hunter --> mail. They are still nice for hunter's but there of course will be better mail ones.

Took these out of the bank last night after picking up wastewalker tunic from blood furnace for the 2 piece set bonus, +2.22% hit is very good for a 2 piece! :D

Good druid tanking gloves, not great for dps...I have deft handguards from Slave Pens, they have 52 AP on em...way better for dps, but the 33 stam on these rocks

they dropped for me other day in normal mode,
added two +8 strength gems and +15 strength enchant, gave me more atp crit and stam then the rogue set that i previously used for tanking

So don't be a snark and claim it's better for one or the other. :P

I, as a Rogue, let my feral druid tank take them though even though it was a huge upgrade for me. "It'll drop again" is what I've said at the time. :P

...So now that Druid is devoted to helping me get the gloves for me as well. :) And he's tanked all the instances I've needed to do to get attuned for Karazhan. And in the Arcatraz run, the Gloves of the Unbound dropped, which kinda is somewhat similar, but has more attack power.

But yeah, it's different in various situations. Let your feral druids decide if it's something they want for their tanking set, and rogues can balance out if you want more pure stats versus attack power.

Either way, they have equal rights to roll on it.

I'm a tankadruid, and I love my set of these. But I sure don't use them for tanking... It's all about Verdant Gloves for bear tanks. Mad armor.

With this gloves and two gems your avoidance in physical dmg is awsome; get this, in terms of mitigation:

183 Armor
+32 Agility
+33 Stamina
Shifting Nightseye +4 Agility and +6 Stamina
Enduring Talasite +4 Defense Rating and +6 Stamina or Glinting Noble Topaz +4 Hit Rating and +4 Agility

With the agi enchant of course, but since every single glove will wear them as a feral tank, i wont add it here.

183 armor
+40 Agi
+39 Sta
+4 Hit rating
+3 Dodge rating

Only the agi will drive you to 3% of damage avoidance (4% with the Agi enchant), or what is the same, DODGE ! Wich becomes more and more usefull when you started to reach the high armor values. And in the top of that they give 39 Stamina, wich is quite a good boost for your health.

I know that the armor is not that good, but you can't have it all ... or yes? besides, you have plenty of good armor leather stuff everywhere to make a really "armored" bear tank. Those gloves are a must to the ones that plan to tank. And you also add two more gems just in case your meta ask you for high req. Of course, that if you have to face someone with overpower, you better take the verdant :D

Verdant are just the gloves that you will have to use till you get those ones. This is the truth.

You can wear an egg in your head if you want it, it's a matter of everyone taste. But those are the holy s*it gloves for feral tanks.

As a rogue I can see that this is a very feral druid set, and I would pass for a feral druid any day if there was a feral druid in the group. The gloves here lack the punch for it to be a very good rogue gloves (yes, handgrips of assassination are much better for rogues in terms of DPS with about 117 AEP vs. 99 AEP here, socketed with bright living ruby and a glinting noble topaz).

However, if there are no feral druids in the group, I would definitely go for these gloves anyways. The reason is because I have the wastewalker shoulderpads already and the 2-set bonus is 35 hit rating, which is... amazing. It definitely makes up for the lack of power on these gloves and it goes well with the slightly better DPS you get from wastewalker shoulderpads than the assassination shoulderpads.

All rogues ever do is whine and complain about druids taking their gear. Cut it out, it's getting old. Cat form druids use the EXACT same stats as a rogue (except + parry, which goes without saying), so why shouldn't we need on something that is an AP upgrade? What makes rogues so high and mighty that they think this game is built around them?

Concerning the "No I'm a druid/rogue, and I want it" debate, I would tend to say that the pieces of this set should be free-for-all on needs between rogues and (feral) druids. The assassination set, I still believe should go to rogues first because of the LOW drop rate and the SWEET rogue-only set bonuses. The wastewalker set, however, has no such class-specific set bonuses, and should be open to both ferals and rogues. I am a 70 rogue. Now... let's get it on!

No. Druids get 1ap per agility pt as well. We get 2ap per strength pt.

Assassination gloves are not better than Wastewalker for Rogues, and I don't think Druids should have priority at all.

If you compare the stats (assuming +8 agility and +8 crit gems in Wastewalker - what I put in) you gain / lose the following wearing Wastewalker

(WW stats - Assassination stats)
+15 agility (32+8 - 25)
+9 stamina (33-24)
+3 dodge (from socket bonus)
+8 crit rating (Smooth Dawnstone)

-17 hit rating (0 - 17)
-19 AP (56-75)

Basicly to me the hit on Assassination is a big lose when using WW, but the 17 AP is virtually nothing. I probably wouldn't even trade out the stamina on WW for the AP on Assassination, considering Rogues need stamina more than ever in BC, and I definitly wouldn't trade out 15 agility, 3 dodge and +8 crit for 17 hit. To be technical I already considering the AP from the agility, so the 15 agility would be = to dodge, crit and armor, although I'd still choose WW > Assassination. Also, you can always choose to put epic quality gems in WW, which are becoming easy to get. I suppose if you're lacking hit Assassination may be a better choice, but I don't see how one can say Assassination are the obvious choice for Rogues, and I'm tired of people telling me they are. I have plenty of hit and choose to use WW for balance.

Has anyone actually gone to WorldofWarcraft.com to see the dungeon 3 and 3.5 sets? Gone through all the classes' tiers?

You may be surprised.
Let me give you a breakdown.

Hunt- Beast Lord Armor, Desolation Battlegear
Sham- Tidefury Rainment, Desolation Battlegear

Mage- Incanter's Regalia, Mana-Etched Regalia
Priest- Hallowed Rainment, Mana-Etched Regalia
Lock- Oblivion Rainment, Mana-Etched Regalia

Warrior- Bold Armor, Doomplate Battlegear
Paladin- Righteous Armor, Doomplate Battlegear

Druid- Moonglade Rainment, Wastewalker Armor
Rogue- Assassination Armor, Wastewalker Armor

As you can see, the 3.5 (or 3b) sets are more geared for dpssing specs of each class, **but are also shared amongst other classes**! Now, some of the dungeons sets that drop (the ones that aren't found in heroics) are a little easier to distinguish between classes, but the 3.5 set is designed for multiple classes. Rouges share with druids just like warriors share with paladins. Just be glad we're not clothies and have to share with three classes.

Most Wastewalker items has slightly better stats for rogues then the Assasination set.

The set bonuses is also really neat, both for druid and rogues.

Rogues and druids (who are specced feral! collecting several items of different types in a run and still roll need is rude) has an equal say to roll for these.
If a rogue has 4 pieces of assasination already, he should really pass for these gloves as they are almost equal to the assasination gloves and will cost alot to socket.

I dont know what to do: I made the windslayer wraps (sp?) for my kitty and atm I am wearing it on my bear as well.

My bear set is almost done, only need some "touchs"...now, the kitty gear I am still working on it.

I checked this site and went after the wastewalker gloves for my bear, and got it first time on SH.

Then, I checked this site again for my kitty gear, and said here that the wastewalker is hte best set I could have... I am right now working on the rep for HH and LC so I can do the heroic modes and get what I need..

My question is: since I already have the windslayer, should I gem my wastewalker gloves bear oriented or kitty oriented and use it with the complet set to get the bonus?

Such a dilemma..dont want to waste money on gems and then change my mind later..

Also, what is a nice boot for my kitty?

Won these today on my Hunter. We had a Rogue but she had S1 equipped and I had a quest green from Netherstorm. I don't instance much because my server is queer, so I had to take a chance on a leather piece. Not ideal, but Hunters can wear leather so they can take Rogue stuff if there aren't any in the party.
