They have a 14 day duration, so you cannot effectively save them. I am not sure if this is realtime or played time, but I'm guessing the first one.

Guys dont forget the awesome free 25 flowers PER turn in of the enemy faction fires. Strip butt naked except for anything that has no x/x durability listed on it, buff up, mount up and RACE into the enemy city faction and touch their city fire. If you can manage it, you get an item that starts a quest that gives you 25 flowers. And since there are 4 cities on the opposite faction... EASY 100 flowers.

Also all these quests, fires etc grant LOTS of gold at 70... i started with around 100g, im half way and now have almost 500g.

Another note: The NPCs near the bonfires wont aggro on you if you extinguish the bonfire, so this is also doable by low-level chars. Be careful of enemy players, though.

Another good thing by the event, is the xp for the q's, if you aren't lvl 70. On my lvl 67 priest I can get 1-11k xp per q. And can it be asier to get 11k xp by killing few lvl 20 mobs? Or just destroy a flame from the horde side gave me 11k xp too. Wasn't even looking for it, just felt over it, and saw the "!", and 2 secs after I got 11k xp, the easiest XP ever!

To make this a bit clearer, you get 5 blossoms for visiting your own faction's fire and 10 blossoms for visiting the opposite faction's fire.

from the post above ull see that from touching the bonfires gives u 470 horde and 460 ally sooo

470 + 100 (enemy major city fires) + 20*15 (daily quests) + 32 (all other simple non repeatable quests) = 882
and for ally just 902-10 =892 :P

As another note, I did the bonfire quests as a 56 dwarf warrior....for honoring the Alliance flames I got 4200 XP, and for dousing the horde ones got 8450. Well worth the time, especially in the zones where the horde and alliance towns arent far apart, Hillsbrad, or Arathi, for example. I started doing these right after dinging 56, and after about 25 minutes I was halfway thru the level. Well worth the time, IMO.

My list for honoring and desecrating the fires is organized by continent so you can go up, down, or across each continent in order of proximity hitting all of the nearby Horde and Alliance fires along your way:

I would go to the nearest fly point and then go around all the nearby zones to the next fly point. In PvE it's handy since you immediately deflag as soon as you fly. I found it to be the most time efficient way of hitting the fires.

The only exception is that I did the enemy capital cities with a group out of order, but my group put out the nearby fires as we traveled to those capitals. So, I included the capitals by proximity, too.

Some tips:

Use the map of these NPCs, to find the bonfires and to find the NPC that give out 5x ;) You need them all if you want the cool rewards! :D

You can throw these in the bonfires while running if you're leveling an alt it gives a very nice buff. When I visit a town and am running by a bonfire I just right click it. You don't have to stop.

To Honour or Desecrate a fire, all you need to do is go up to the alliance/horde bonfire near every encampment and you'll see it as a quest on the bonfire, it will then complete and you'll get 5 for alliance bonfires, and 10 for horde bonfires, and please note, you can only do this quest ONCE (even if you done it last year you cant do it again this year), you can find out what bonfires you havent done by looking under your acheivements under "world events" then midsummer

I feel screwed. Got only a couple of fires left, and can't do the Earthen Ring qeusts/dailys (no clue why I can't even do the dailys). Hoping to get the 300 blossoms I need... though I'm not quite sure I'll make it. Can get like 150 from dailys (Can't do the 10 blossom daily..) and hopefully enough from fires. Btw blizzard... next time tell it us if you are planning on just allowing us to use every flame once.. then people like me could have got the set last year :<

According to in-game Breaking News, being unable to complete last year's quests is an error and might be solved asap. I'll keep the message for the record.

As of 2009, if you did everything last year, you can get:
14 x 10 = 140 from the daily quests
+
8 x 15 = 120 from Northrend bonfires
+
4 x 25 = 100 from opposite faction cities' bonfires
= 360 total
(+10 extra if you're able to do the daily Qs the last hour of the event)

This means that pet collectors that didn't have the Spirit of Summer already, still have a chance.

If you are lv 80, and you were really bored last year ...... at least I was, this happened:

There are 8 pairs of bonefires in Northrend = 120 burning blossom.
The midsummer event lasts 14 days, 2 dailies (if you are lv 80) of 5 blossom each. = 140 total.

However I need 400 to finish the archivement. (for the midsummer set)

1. I had done all old bonefires last year.
2. I also trashed those for pet and food.
3. Then i throwed everything out cuz i am out of space.

This means I wont be able to get the the archivement done, this year.

Hopefully bliz will make some quests for lv 80....

Hi there,

There will be a hotfix for those who can't re do the fires they did last year. Straight out of a discussion with a gm.

Also a few things to know :

1/ You can do again the fires of the opposing faction's cities (except Exodar and Silvermoon, crappy bug)

2/ If you are level 70 or more, you don't get the 10 blossom daily, you get to kill Ahune

3/ There are new bonfires in Northrend (16 total for a sum of 120 blossoms)

now another thing to remember while putting out the oposing factions bon fires is that theres a 1 second (feels like 1 second at least, might be 1,5) cast time when you press the fire. After that a text box pops up where you must click the quest and then click "complete quest".

This may take several seconds, so be prepared for that if there is enemies guarding the bon fire.

note that this is not the case when you are stealing the flame from a capital city, there it only takes the cast time before the quest item appears in your inventory.

If you are on a pve server, you will be flagged when you complete the quest to desecrate. Therefore, you can mount up while looking at the quest text and be ready to run immediately after being flagged if there are enemies waiting.

It's possible to get the Burning Hot Pole Dance achievement and buy the pet or other thing. If gather all of the blossoms from kalimdor, eastern kingdoms, outlands and northrend.

Simply buy the suit for the dance achievement, get the achievement. Then sell the shoulders back to the vendor. This is give you enough to buy a pet with ~72 left over.

Capital cities fires, also fires in Depholm/Shimmering Expanse, are NOT included.
There's multiple reasons for this decision. If you are not happy with it, it's your problem.
Coordinates are split in blocks by <= 255 characters to allow for easy macro writing, also they are checked and tweaked to perfom a little better, but if you find any specific point, that refuse to confirm arrival within 10 meters, please report.

Bug or not, I just found out how to get the rest of the missing Blossom's I needed. About 3pm today, I finished the entire questline, got title, etc, etc. did the dailies.... I was stuck at 195, thinking for sure the pet was out of the question, and was going to mess around a bit helping my wife in Hellfire. As I flew out of Honor Hold, a YELLOW ! showed up on the map. Flew to it and it was like I had never done any of the outland quests. Just got done again for the 2nd time in outland and now have 300 Blossom's, still have all the gear for the pole dance and bought 10 torch's. Headed to OLD LAND now to see if they have rest too.

UPDATE: Yes, all the ones in Easter Kingdoms have reset. Should have my pet tonight.

Something to note about the Burning Hot Pole Dance achievement. If you buy all 3 pieces when ur ready to get this achievement, you have a chance to redeem 1-2 of the 3 pieces. First, you have to save up 400 blossoms, then buy all 3 pieces, dance your night away on the May-Fair pole (well about 5 minutes anyway) and then try and sell all three pieces back to a vendor. If this is done within an hour of purchasing them, u can get some of those well spent Blossoms back. I myself found this out on my last piece bought, the Mantle. after getting the achievement, the text still read, "you may sell this back to a vendor..."

After telling other guildies, one had 200 blossoms back from the mantle and shoes, but couldnt sell the chest. Another said they couldnt sell the chest or shoes., so results may vary. I doubt this was meant to be intended, so use at your own discretion.

23.06.2009 - Bonfires reset

That means you can re-honor/dissacrate EVERY single bonfire (old world, Outland, Northerend, ....) even if you completed all the Midsummer achievements. I finished them yesterday, ending with 460 blossoms. Today I can do all of them once again. In my opinion this was a wrong move from Blizzard: they fixed in a way that will be totally unfair for those who were bugged. They wont be able to do the quests 2 times and gather 2x blossoms... While other people like me (who finished the quests yesterday and never did them before) will do it and get twice the amount of tokens to get pets, braziers and so on.

They should have just stopped the event, reset for everyone and start from scratch next week.

I made a few errors in my post missing out one of the dailys see Kobajashi, post below for a more detailed run down.

Either way my point is still valid if you intend to do the achievements, there are not enough blossoms to get the brazier as well as the pet.

If you consider you want the brazier+clear the achievements you need 400burning blossom for the clothes +350for the brazier = 750Burning blossom required for the achievements/brazier. (feel free to correct me if im wrong!)

That would be 300 burning blossoms you could possibly squeeze out of the dailies.

This gives an absolute maximum total of 1032 burning blossoms for a member of the Horde. The number is ten lower (1022) for the Alliance since there is a minor imbalance in the amount of fires dedicated to each faction. Do you know how much paperwork I had to do to get that extra fire for our faction?

Giving a total of 1100 burning blossoms.

So, you cannot in fact buy all the non-consumables in a single season. Last year you were able to sneak around this by buying items, using them as needed for achievements, and returning them within the 2-hour return window. This is no longer the case. You can still squeak out a few more than you might expect by getting torches to juggle from others as they are non-bound items.

If after all the information above you still have problems to get the pet for example, after buying your set for the achievement, remember there is a Qeust in Outland (Shattrath) called "Striking Back" that gives u another 10 Blossom every day.

I was stucked with 10 a day doing the 2 in the capitals :)

This is suppose to give you a 1 hour buff with 3% crit to melee and spells.

Part of the Midsummer fest 21 Jun - 5 July. I would say try to stock up on them, but they are quest rewards and you can only toss into the Bonfires for the fest, so limited time buff.

If you want to accumulate these to get some of the unique festival novelty items there are a few good ways to get them. Doing the daily quests such as the torch throwing and torch juggling is one but you can start by doing a tour of the world. Go to every horde and alliance town and outside each one you will find a little camp with a bonfire. Generally a settlement that's big enough to have an inn or a flight path will have a festival camp a short distance away. If it's one of your own faction's towns, you can speak to an npc to complete one of the honor the flame quests. Each town you do this at will give you 5 blossoms and approximately 5 gold (I've only done it on a level 70 - not sure if it varies). If you go to a camp near an opposing faction's town, you'll be able to 'use' the bonfire to complete one of the Desecrate this Fire! quests. A high level should be able to do it without agroing the nearby revellers. Each opposing faction's town you do it at will give you 10 blossoms and about the same in gold. It will also flag you pvp if you're on a pve realm. Visiting all the alliance and horde towns in both continents to do this will get you well over 200 blossoms and I just didcovered that you can also do it in outland. That's easily enough to get some of the festival reward items such as the pet which uses 350.

Throwing this into a bonfire gives you a 60 minute buff which increases your critical strike- and spell critical strike chance by 3%.

According to my scrolling combat text I also got healed for +10000 hp.

Increases critical strike percent by 3 and causes Fire damage to attackers.

Here's a list of macros for those who have multiple characters and want a relatively pain-free way to generate TOMTOM waypoints for all the midsummer fires. I've broken them up into seperate macros (EK1, EK2, EK3, etc) due to macro character limits. The A and H on the waypoint will let you know if it's an Alliance or a Horde fire, and AC and HC refer to fires in the capitals. Just paste each section (excluding the macro name) into a new macro, and click on them on each of your characters to populate all the waypoints on your map.
