why is it even class specific?

obviously you wouldnt be using these for PvE, but wouldnt u much rather your warlock or ur mage be able to actually take a few hits b4 dying in PvP?
i really look forward to gdtting this set, and boastina about my high AC, but then still get owned by horde, seeing how on my server its no contest :(

Are there new class specific sets like leather, mail, or plate? I know these dont need to be class specific like the cloth one since fewer classes can use them but just curious..I could use some new pvp plate armor

I'm using this set as a tanking set for my lv 60 undead shadow priest. Naturally, I can hold aggro against just about anything with Mind Blast spam, and this set gives me enough stamina and armor to tank as well as a warrior in 58-60 5-person instances - and do the massive, single-target damage that my spec is wont to. I've offtanked in UBRS with this set, and can off-off tank in Zul'Gurub. The possibilities are endless.

For those of you gasping at a priest tanking, Inner Fire = 20% damage mitigation right off the top. The armor from this set (1525) adds another 22% damage mitigation... and shadowform adds 15% more physical damage mitigation for a grand total of 57% less physical damage dealt by lv 60 mobs. That is considerable. Additionally, unlike some warriors, shadow priests don't mind being PW:Shielded - it helps us maintain aggro due to less spell interruption, and we don't have to worry about lost rage. It works out interestingly. :D Also - yeah, vampiric embrace, we do it all.

Halcyon has dropped these babies the last 5 times I've killed him (while helping newbits in my guild get thier UBRS keys, etc). People are getting sick of seeing them. It's sad.

Got these off Hacylon after getting the boots off the Beast. IMO they could be very useful for mages who are a little too aggressive with AoE - the INT is nice for extended AOEing, as is the stam, the set bonuses are nice for it (dont get silenced, etc), especially in PVP, and the armor is awesome for staying alive so the priest can heal you.

More to the point, currently +dmg doesnt do enough for AE spells that it's worth bothering with for that purpose, so these will fit fine for that.
