All armor and weapons that require a personal rating now also require your team to have atleast same rating in order to buy.

Example:

Shoulders 2000 Personal rating now also require Arena team rating +2000.

As of June 24, 2008, this shoulder, along with other Season 3 shoulders, now have a 15% discount and 50 point reduced rating requirement for both personal and team arena ratings. The price for this weapon should be around 1275 arena points, and 1950 personal and team arena rating requirement.

ive yet to start doing arenas, waiting to get my rogue up to par, but how do you get a personal arena rating? I mean what determines your rating?

Blizz changed ratings with 2.3, so that you now get a personal rating in arena teams. Before, everyone in the team got the same rating. You could lose all your matches, but still get the same points and rating as the ones in your team that won all of their matches.

Its easy to get these pieces you just have to be smart...
For one its a cheat around the personal rating so dont do if ur a sallypants

First have at least 2 70's and make friends with someone who has to 70's. (3,5 for other sized teams but easy to do two less people ur cheating with I used RL friend)

Make a team with ur crappy players...
Go into every arena u play without gear on....
Lose ur rating to 1000....
Then invite ur good players....
your team rating will be 1000 but when your good people join they start at 1500, hence you play nubfuk teams with no gear and as ur team rating goes up so does your personal...
Means when u raise ur team from 1000-1500 ur personal will raise from 1500-2000...

I dont know if GM's can report for this but I know all the people on my 5v5 have 2000 personal ratings but none of us have a team over 1700 b/c there are teams that actually know how to play their classes unlike us...
But it sure is fun walking around in gear that people who are in PvP guilds dont even have...

First off, the poster above me with his "hacking the arena" theory doesn't work, nor did it ever.

Second off, After 2-3 weeks of doing our 10 games with a 1700 rating I went to go get these and

THEY REQUIRE A 2K RATING TO GET. Someone said that they should have a 2k rating to buy, but I believe he meant to say they DO require a 2k rating.

So don't get your hopes up on these, these aren't easy welfares.

the tactic does work its a well known one. first get your rating low than leave team and rejoin it,
your personalrating will be 1500 again. You get sucky teams to screw with again and you'll get
the gear.

now to buy these items with personal ratings your team rating ALSO has to be above the required personal rating, although the item does not state this, this is now fact.

so now your TEAM has to have a rating of 2000 and YOU have to have a rating of 2000, this stops the "cheating" from the crap players who cant get to 2000 rating without a little handicap
