Considering the difficulty involved in obtaining this headguard, even with the 2.1 changes the stats on this item are still absolutely -horrible- compared to the craftable Living Dragonscale Helm (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29508).

I agree with Makesha. Dont forget that there actually is a small bit of mp/5 on this helmet aswell. Gemmed with a Insightful Earthstorm Diamond, which, if you read the comments for that metagem, gives you somewhere between 5 mp/5 up to amazing 20 mp/5 depending on playstyle. And as a second gem perhaps a Dazzling Talasite. Along with Glyph of Renewal this helmet is simply crazy!

There will ofc only be 11 static mp/5, but considering the metagem, you will end up somewhere between 11 and 31 mp/5 whish isnt bad at all, is it? The +healing is enough on this as it is so a +healing-gem is not really required in my opinion.

I am extremely disappointed in the amount of shamans on my server that I have seen wearing this item. You are here arguing that gems can be used to compensate for this helm's lack of mp5, but there is one thing you are forgetting:

THE TIER 4 HELM HAS THE EXACT. SAME. SOCKETS.

Also, because the tier 4 helm has 8mp5, it is superior to this helm for raiding. By the time you're killing Vashj, you shouldn't need 10 extra stamina, and spell crit is a far shot from the value of MP5.

And for those of you who say you want the tier 5 set bonuses, what on earth are you thinking? They're both HORRIBLE bonuses for a PVE set. You practically NEVER use LHW in a raid, and what good is a 0.5 second faster cast when it can only happen once a minute?

For a resto shaman, 3 int = 6 healing = 1 mp5. You can do the number crunching yourself is you like, but it ultimately adds up to tier 4 being the equivalent of 25 healing superior to tier 5. Sure, the spell crit might compensate for that point loss, but why would you take this helm from a DPS shaman, a rogue, or a paladin, when it's a sidegrade? That'd be mighty selfish of you just because you want a shiny piece of Tier 5.

Stick with tier 4 or, preferably, Mojo-mender's mask. This is a waste of an item, and if you take this you are stealing a token from someone else and wasting your DKP. And honestly, I doubt any guild will kill Vashj enough times to be sharding these helms before they move into Hyjal.

Not to be an ass here Deadlythrow. Its not "stealing" this helm to take the token if you have earned it by DKP. Also, in MH/BT you will later on have to focus more on raw healing than +mp/5 and in that case i'd gladly have this until tier6 starts dropping because of the higher +healing and spellcrit.
