Arcanite is usually within a 10g window on all servers. Average asking price for a transmute is 5 gold, although 4g is becoming popular since thats how WoW's open market works.

It CAN be mined out of small throium veins, however that is a rare occurence. It is less rare from rich thorium veins (RTV).

Arcanite bars are also needed by enchanters to create runed arcanite rods, and it can't be skipped as the arcanite rod is an ingredient in the next enchanting rod required only 10 profession levels later!

Note for Llane Alchemists: Unless you are a miner, or know one you will have to buy your own materials (Thorium bar-2g in AH, Arcane Crystal- 5-10g in AH) This means that if you sell your arcanite bar in the AH for the general price (20g) the profit will only be 8-13g which is not bad. However, there is also good money in selling arcanite transmutes using the buyer's mats (which are especially good if you still get alch. skill from it). From experience I know that there are some people who will only tip 2g, but there are some rich and desperate souls who will pay 25g (provided you meet them at a destination that works best for the customer). I hope that whoever bothers to read this will find it useful. And when I learn more about it, i may post information similar to this about primal might transmutes in the primal might item comments.

I had no idea, what are those arcane crystals needed for and i just stored them in my bank. Then, one day, I got my hands on rare engineering schematic from MC - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=16055
Lucky I didn't waste all my crystals :) Now, I'm a happy PvP engineer :)

An interesting note: Due to the increased drop rate of arcane crystals in all thorium veins. For a very short time(275-280) Arcanite Keys can be a good substitute for Imperial Plate bracers for getting some skill up.

Transmute Arcanite is:
Thorium Bar x1
Arcane Crystal x1

Arcanite Key x2 is:
Arcanite Bar x1
Dense Grinding Stone x1 (4 Dense Stone)

This compared to...

Imperial Plate bracers:
Thorium Bar x12

It should be noted Arcanite keys are of yellow difficulty when you train them at 275, but for those 5 blacksmithing levels its well worth the risk over the orange skill Imperial Plate bracers to save yourself some money/time.

On korgall the general prices are.

Arcane crystals: 16-20g (mostly 18-19)
Arcanite bars: 20-25g (mostly 23-25)
Transmutes: 2-3g

Im a Blacksmith/miner and usually farm to get the big profit or im buying crystals below 17g in ah buy a transmute for 2-3g and sell for 23-25g, a quick 3-6g profit.

This is horde side atleast. If anyone have some price info on the alliance side and it would be cheap with 30g for a bar i gladly buy some and put out in the both sides ah.

You need:
1 Arcane Crystal
1 Thorium Bar
for 1 Arcanite Bar

You need a Alchemist with the learned recipe "Transmute Arcanite" to do it for ya...
it has 48 hours CoolDown so most normal price for a transmute by others is around 5g

I bought the recipe today after seeing how cheap the mats were, but how much Arcanite bars are going for at the AH. I spent about 3-4G for 3 of the crystals. About 2G for 3 Thorium Bars. And 4G+ at the vendor for the recipe. The Arcanite bars are on AH for 18-20G per bar. 36G for 3 bars. Its insane. But also the best money maker I've seen so far for my Alchemy prof. Still, I dont know if I would charge 36G. XD

To all the Alchemist who dispare, there is a light at the end of the rainbow.

I have a low level ALT 35, makes arcanite bars.

Was selling for 32G to 40G a shot, arcane crystals were selling for 14g a shot.

The new expansion came out, Arcane went to 1.5G each! THorium 1G each. I couldn't sell the damn thing for 5G per Arcanite.

Then people in alchemy realized that becoming a high level master of transmutation, they can create Primal Mights and maybe get some free with the deal and sell those for 100G each and make a mint!

I then started to notice the price of Arcanite bars increasing! Why? People are no longer using their 23hr (not 24hr as people state) cooldown on the primal might and other powerful items, why make a low paying Arcanites! But people still need them.

So I have started to bring the market back up. I now sell bars for 13G each, and rising. The crystals are still selling for 1.5G each, but slowly rising. They have a good drop rate now. So I have loads. The thorium is a breeze to buy or mine. And my low level Alt is making me money.

of course, for big money, get a Master skill and leave the Arcanite business to me! :)

I have been selling Arcanite Bars for about 2 months now in the AH for the horde...typical price 10g 75s. I hadn't seen Arcanite run for much more than 15g each...don't know if people were selling them at tbat price...kudos if you were. So the breakdown was typically:
Buy: Thorium 1g 50s
Buy: Arcane Crystal 4g
Sell: Arcanite Bar 10g 75s
Profit: 4g 50s on average.

This last week the Arcane Crystal market exploded and now Arcane Crystals are running at twice the price. Anyone know what happened? Has the drop rate on ACs gone back down?

I am trying to bring up the market on Arcanite Bars...trying to sell at 15g each to offset some of the cost but some people are still managing to sell for around 10-11g. So either they are selling for a miniscule profit or they have an alt that is farming mats for them.

I am really trying to avoid having to put together and alt that would farm the mats I need for the transmute. X-(

On my server the price of the crystals have droped to 4g and im on the pally mount quest so i litterally paid 24g for 6 crytals and 6g for the bars... cheap but the problem still is... im offering 5g and mats to anyone to transmute for me and i havnt found a single person in 2 days... is it just me or is something seriusly messed up... duuh

After patch 2.4 there will be no cooldown to transmute these. I expect the price to drop from 20G to 5G instantly.

If indeed the cooldown time drops to nothing on these, expect to see a lot more heartseekers, arcanite champions, etc out there for sale. This is usually the holdup because of cooldown times, hence the high cost per bar. So while the bars themselves will sell for so much less, It opens the market for the items that use these as mats to be sold much wider. There is a silver lining here. Assuming that this is all true of course.

I predict that the other effect of eliminating the cooldown will be a large increase in the price of arcane crystals - since the cooldown had been limiting demand up 'till now. With no cooldown, people will be encouraged to make the things mentioned in the last post, as well as make arcanite bars to level alchemy.

I've gone out and bought all the crystals I can for less than 7 gold each. Let's see if I'm right.

ok, you can still make a profit from these, just not as much. And yes, it does suck that you may have banked on it to carry you through, but Pally's were/are the ones buying them more than anybody for the charger questline. I know I did. Bear in mind my post above though. This opens much more market potential for volume sales IF, and it is a big if, the blacksmiths on your server start making some pre-bc blues or epic gear for their mid level alts or guildies. Hell, even for sale on the AH. I use my shammy almost exclusively to transmute these for my blacksmith Pally. I've sold quite a few Heartseekers and Sageblades already since last week when the patch came out. Lots of gold to be made still if you can partner up with somebody you trust. A lot depends on the demand on your server though to be fair. If the demand isn't there, then yeah, you might be screwed.

And just as a side thought to the person upset about arcanite bar prices, try primal might xmutes. those have shot up on average 25G per on Stormreaver to 105G at the lowest. Pre patch they averaged about 80G. You can only do one a day, not taking into account procs, but what a profit if the mats are easily attainable for you.

lucky people... your talking about it being outrageous cuz the bars sell for 35-75g but the crystals alone sell for about... 150g lowest in Detheroc (Horde) because all the good thorium veins are covered by farmers

Don't try and get these at the AH as they cost a lot! Instead buy some Arcane Crystals (msot of the time they are cheap) and some thorium bars and get an alchemist to turn them into ARcanite bars. Make sure you have a number of alchemists because each time the transform the materials there's a 24hour cooldown.

It's risky trying to make money buying crystals then making arcanite for profit. The only way i'd do it is if I saw someone selling 2 crystals for like 30g or something. Most people that need arcanite bars buy the crystals and thorium themselves, then pay an alchemist 3 or 4 gold to transmute for them. Much cheaper than buying the bar by itself usually.

Just thought I should point out that when creating arcanite the cooldown on the Philosophers' Stone is 48 hours, not 24 as previously mentioned.

You can make approximatley 8 gold using this, but you can only do it every 24 hours....
guess I'll have to make my guildies give me the ore that's in the recipe; then I can make 29g and 50s per fusion.... sweeet. :D :D :D

I'm selling the transmute for 5g... and its 48h cooldown.

The thorium is not that expensive, but the Arcane Crystals are! Often worse than the bars themself!

My suggestion is to buy a stack of thorium bars, and bid for crystals when they are going cheap, transmute, and sell the bars at AH!

This is a good way to make some money. Got transmute few weeks ago and used it everytime cooldown ends, either sold transmute or bought crystal and thorium bar and then sold the arcanite bar. 2-8g profit everytime.

Essential for many late game items and enchants! Prices may vary but at least on Dreadmist EU they tend to go for around 65-70g /each.

HOW TO OBTAIN 雷霆之怒，逐风者的祝福之剑

Receive both 逐风者禁锢之颅 (drop rate: 4,08%) from 加尔 and 逐风者禁锢之颅 (drop rate: 4,28%) from 迦顿男爵 in 熔火之心.
Visit 德米提恩 in 希利苏斯. He will give you 复生之瓶 to start the quest 复生之瓶 which leads to 逐风者桑德兰.
Kill 拉格纳罗斯 for 火焰之王的精华 (100% drop rate when you have the quest in your log).
Aquire 10x 源质锭.
Bring your guild and head back to 德米提恩. Turn in the quest and he will summon 桑德兰王子 which will drop 风吻之刃.
Complete 觉醒吧，雷霆之怒！ and you're done!

Mats needed for 10x 熔炼源质:

100x 奥金锭 (100x 瑟银锭 + 100x 奥术水晶 + 100x 转化：奥金)
10x 源质矿石 (Buy from the Auction House or loot in 黑翼之巢 from 黑翼技师)

The following quests can be picked up from 工匠威尔海姆 at the Light's Hope Chapel in the 东瘟疫之地 by completing 奥玛里恩的手册 which you get from 大工匠奥玛里恩.
He's trapped in a cage in the first room of trash in the Deathknight Wing inside 纳克萨玛斯.
With a skill of 300 and high enough reputation, you will be able to choose from a total of 13 different patterns depending on your professions: 裁缝 (4), 制皮 (6) or 锻造 (3).
