Start the quest A Hozen On My Back at Alyx.
Talk to Riku the Hozen to turn in the first quest and grab the follow up The Case of the Fur-Getting Wikket.

Speak with Maru, then go and speak with Riku after this speak with Breanni and select Racoon.

Talk to Sully over by the fashion stage ask about the pet who mentions Jade Forest (Nectarbreeze Orchard).

Fly to the Gizmo's grave in Jade Forest and use the Torch of Pyrreth.

Pick up Gizmo. Note: Gizmo has the debuff Skittish on him. Turn RP-walk on (default bound to NumPad /) to catch him easier. If there's too many people in the area, consider turning Warmode on.

After talking to Breanna and choosing 'raccoon', I cannot get sully to give further instructions, he simply comments on the party. I dropped the quest twice and reacquired to no avail

Couple tips:

1) It might help you to use a keybinding to capture gizmo.
Go to Options > Keybinding > Targeting > Interact with Target (should be "F" by default)
You'll need to click gizmo initially however, using the keybinding might help as you capture him as you chase him around.
ALSO, make sure you're facing him when you try to capture him.

2) Gizmo the Pure was not instantly mailed to me took about 5 minutes or so.
Thought I would mention it since I didn't see mention of it anywhere else.

I did this without warmode. There was an afk player standing nearby on the stairs. I used the torch while standing at the flight path, but when I went into stealth to approach the grave the torch was removed. So I stood there at the grave, used the torch again, and Gizmo appeared. I clicked him, got most of the way through the bar before he ran out of range. He did not go far, even with the afk player on the stairs he stopped and stood there. After you have made him appear with the torch, you can stealth. I stealthed up to him and clicked him and picked him up easily.

Fellow mages, let Gizmo run away from you, judge your distance from him, blink and don't move and he won't run away from you. Interact and complete.
