Even after the global release, this NPC cant be interacted with. Hopefully at reset.

You do not need to complete all 20 waves for this quest in one attempt. If you need to only complete the quest and already completed your Awakened Cache progress, you can quit after each 5th wave to keep all 20 waves simple.

Just went through all 20 in one go as Guardian Druid by healing the speaker between 5 waves and also at the end of every wave that had a malfunctioning Pylon... positioning myself to take the damage while I slowly healed the speaker. Touch and go with wave 18 where he dropped to 10% health, but the end boss was no problem and didn't go near the speaker.
And all I got was a silly cosmetic Machine Warden's Cloak, 85 Valorstones, 10 Harbinger Crests, 164 Gold, and 1100 Assembly rep. Quest reward from Gnawbles - ilvl 571 ring, Restored Coffer Key, 157 Gold and 5 Harbinger Crests.

Did it fairly easy as a fire mage, just a few tips:

- Interrupt the caster, it instantly dies
- The medic/heal bots drop green things which can heal both you and the NPC
- Kite the bomb mob away from the NPC before it explodes
- Take your time, every 5 waves you can pause and wait for cooldowns

Had the bug where nothing popped up to do the event but I dropped the quest and logged out and back in. Then talked to him again to get the quest and the window popped up to enter the room where you fight the waves of enemies. Was able to do it easily enough as a frost mage ilvl 563.

Don't bother trying as a healing spec. You can heal Kuldas, but he does zero damage, and killing the waves plus keeping him up takes too long.

This was very simple as a Guardian Druid with about ilvl 572.

Here are some general tips:

Top priority is to interrupt the casters which kills them instantly
Tag all the little swarm bots so they do not attack Kuldas
Run over the explode bots away from Kuldas so they die quickly and don't do any damage
Tank the laser beam from the towers that pop up
Always position your lava debuff where it will not hit Kuldas. Try not to drop it in front of where you need to tank the tower laser.
Nullbots make something immune to damage so prioritize them as needed, only attacking them if something
As a tank, save medbots for last. You shouldn't really need the healing item they drop unless it is for Kuldas. DPS roles may need to think about how to prioritize these based on their performance

The 15 crests alone make this activity worthwhile to do on any character you want to gear. Prioritize this event as one of your first 4 weekly activities.

Cant for some reason get this quest on my warrior, which is lvl 76. But i have done it on my paladin which is lvl 75..

Is there a limit to how many times you can do it on one account? I have done it on a few alts but now he (Spekaer Kuldas) says he is busy.

Given that Wowhead shows this quest as having a difficulty level as starting at 80 (top right), I presume someone forgot to/didn't code in the correct "Quest Available At" value, hence why our lower level alts cannot complete this quest. Reported as a bug, 9 Sept. 2024.

Use your Spare Toolbox here! Do Not Throw Away or Delete!
Used for Gearing Up for Trouble and/or during Awakening The Machine
Once you’ve entered the Scenario, click the spare toolbox, 3 buffs will be displayed (see the screenshots I uploaded)

These buffs are permanent/no timer for the duration of the Scenario
You have approximately 90 seconds to chose your buff before the toolbox despawns
Here are the buffs:

Urgent Repairs - 200% Speed
Grace of the Machine - Higher Jumps
Inner Forge - Damage on hit + 50% reduced damage taken
Steam Vent - AOE damage around you
Ironstrider Support - Support Bot (unclear what this does & I've not got it yet)
Cogwalker Support - Kuldas receives 50% less damage taken
Edict of Alacrity - 5% Crit stacking up to 100 times
Edict of Haste - 5% Haste stacking up to 100 times
Edict of Regeneration - Regen 5% Health in combat + 5% Leech stacking up to 100 times
Edict of Stamina - Increased Stamina stacking up to 100 times
Edict of Rage - 5% damage amp + size, stacking up to 100 times

Obviously go for Edict of Rage if you get this option!

Finally: Spare Toolboxes are obtained through Disturbed Earth in all zones. Not just the mobs you kill from the earth drops the toolboxes. I've had them drop from every form of looting wax. Rate seems to be ~10% (1 out of 10 earths).

BTW, bandages work on Speaker Kuldas! Has anyone tried grouping? It has the 5 man dungeon flag.
