If you suddenly cannot click on the NPCs to save, go back to Healer Selbekh (quest giver) and choose the dialogue option to re-summon Taivan.

There's a little RP segment that plays out each time where Taivan pulls the NPC to safety. I suspect he gets "too far away" during this segment and simply de spawns mid-quest. Very annoying.

DESPITE what some have said here, there is no such option to 'summon Taivan' from the quest giver. With or without the dog being present. I know. I had both. It bugged with him present and then i deliberately flew off out of range to despawn him so i could return and hopefully get the summon command, but no. No such command exists.

If you end up clicking on a centaur and Taivan wont move at all, you have to abandon the quest and re-accept it. I had it bug on the last centaur, whilst the damn dog sat there 10 meters away ignoring instructions. And to make matters worse, there is no summon Taivan command on the quest giver. So, i had no choice but to abandon and re-accept it. Completed normally the second time.

There were other people doing the quest at the same time but still only one taivan so he would just not move and no one was getting any progress.

One of the worst quests in the game. Bugged beyond repair and you have to repeat the whole progress because cancelling and restarting seems to be the only workaround.

This is a bad quest. Any quest that is time gated on the basis of waiting on an NPC/animal is poorly thought out. It is also ridiculous that this expansion has seen a dramatic rise in the inability to interact with an object if you are in combat. That is regressive behavior on the part of the programmers/designers.

I present You Storyline Taivan's Purpose. This Storyline is part of Sojourner of Ohn'ahran Plains which is criteria for Loremaster of the Dragon Isles.

Quests in order I done:

1. The Trouble with Taivan - Quest start after i finish campain quests, You start from Healer Selbekh 61.17 39.97. First You need to press on Taivan to brush it, then pick up Pelt Bundle /way 61.16 39.74 on ground
and place on Taivan, then speak with Taivan and go 71.46 49.59
2. The Hunting Hound - Speak with Taivan then slay 5 beast.
3. Part of a Pack - Slay Ravenous Proto-Drake He is flying i Found him /way 75.23 49.89
4. Try Again, Taivan! - Go back to Healer Selbekh 61.17 39.97
5. The Gentle Giant - Speak with Taivan then go 49.06 41.04
6. Shaping a Shepherd - Speak with Taivan then go to Aylaag Argali mark them and use extra bar on 3 of them, then again go to Aylaag Argali and using extra bar push them to Pen 49.54 41.52 ( you just need to push 1 of them :D ).
7. Reign of the Ram - Go to Stubborn Ram 49.54 39.69 and use extra bar then beat it to 20-30%hp.
8. Danger in Daruukhan - First speak with Teerai Messenger then go 52.80 29.87
9. Saving Centaur - Ok on this Quest You need to Rescue injured centaurs. You can only do it when Taivan have nothing to do ( every time you press to save some one You need wait to save another until Taivan will finish with 1st task ) as well Centaurs cover by beams of wood need to be remove first then You can rescue them.

/way 51.53 30.33 in tent

10. Homeward Hound - Speak with Taivan then conversation will start then you will get supoer fast transport to village.
11. Taivan's Purpose - Go to speak with Chimei 61.81 38.59 then speak with him one more time, then wait until quest finish xD. After this quests storyline finish. You will get Taivan's Trumpet.

I this quest bugged out and you needed to abandon and pick it back it, Healer Selbekh might actually be at: /way #2023 52.8 29.8 Healer Selbekh
instead of the location listed in this article.

Go to healer at 52.79 29.80. Ask for taivan back.worked on 4 alts.

Hey blizzard, I know you had to fill your "pet the doggo" quota. But at least make the quest chain as insufferable as possible next time. This was the most tedious BS I have had to do in a long time, so please, for my own sanity. Don't do this again.

This quest requires a little PATIENCE.

What worked for me was waiting for Taivan to return to his default spot outside of the camp before I clicked on more logs or other centaurs in need of help. It is time consuming, but it worked flawlessly.

Some players need to learn not to rush through things before crying foul of a quest.

I don't know if this will help anyone or not - but - when this glitched out for me, I was standing by the quest giver for several minutes looking up how to work it out, Taivan just came back to me on his own and we were able to continue on. Did this twice to complete this quest. Maybe it will help you? Good luck!

Had to drop the quest because I couldn't save the last person. When I re- acqired the quest, I didn't hang about doing it, made sure I got Taivan working, and then killed things as necessary between rescues.

Second hut on the left, a body with a log on top of it. You click it and Taivan will pull the log off. Once that is done, you have the list of folks to save. The difficulty that many seem to have is impatience. If you go to a body and right click, Taivan will come and drag the body away. You will NOT be able to click and have Taivan respond until he has finished the previous task and assumed his place in the center of the area near the fire. Once he gets back to his spot, you can have him remove a log then wait, or save a body. Taivan will not respond to the next command until he is finshed with the previous, and back to his spot at the center.
