This quest serves as an introduction to Torghast. As of build 3413, several people are reported being stuck on this quest and chain crashing after finishing the Torghast scenario. You can fix this by logging on another character, turning down all graphics options to 1 (moving the main slider down to 1 should be enough), then logging in on the stuck character.

When I did this quest on beta, I got stuck in the first room, after a few minutes being next to the room with the lever the sword eventually unlocked the door, but it was delayed.

When I first tried to do this quest, I got stuck in the cage, without being able to do anything.
Logging off/in didn't change anything.
I also tried to wait several minutes as suggested, still nothing.
If you're stuck, you have to delete the quest, right clic on your character > leave instance group, then accept the quest again.
When you enter in Torghast, the sword says she can go through the gates, and you have 2/3 seconds to click on the gate to open it, if you miss this opportunity, delete and try again.
That's what worked for me, might be other solutions.

To complete this quest you need to recover Renathal's Allies from Torghast, Tower of the Damned.
Travel to 31.00 13.15 to enter Torgast. Its a scenario for a single character and during the quest you see only the start.
All you need to do is simple moving through the random generated floors until you locate The Chamber of Power (Floor 3).
You literally can pick any anima powers as its pretty easy to pass these floors.

I didn't see anyone state this, to rescue his friends you need to fight Warden of Souls, which is in the description on this page, but not that he is a level 62 elite. That kind of had me worried at first as I was a fresh level 60. However, Prince Renathal and Vorpalia (this was an animated sword, wowhead has this as a person, couldn't find the code for the sword that wasn't a spell, not a spell you can control) did most of the work. I had to initiate the fight, and as soon as some adds showed up, I focused on them as they attacked me and try to pull me into the center of some red stuff that appeared on the floor.

I avoided those areas, (not really sure if it's needed, but as they pulled me into it once, I figured, best to stay out of it.) and killed them. When I finally put my attention back on Warden of Souls, he was almost dead. I hit him a couple of more times and he died.

My health never got below 50%. I did use Power Word: Shield whenever it was off and available, and a couple of times.

Appears to be totally broken on the latest beta build. Can't even enter torghast. Saw a few other players by the portal unable to enter. Abandoning/restarting game doesn't help. Filed a bug on it but just reporting here in case anyone else is in this state.

For anyone like me porting into a closed off room with nothing visibly, reachably clickable and no other apparent means of escape: There should be a floating "Anima Hoard" object beyond one of the gates. Walk up to it and the sword will float through the bars to some lever or something and drop the gate.

The reward for this quest doesn't make sense. It is an introductory quest to the Torghast tower and even then, the trinket in question is only for classes that use attack. Who uses spell has no use for the trinket.

So, playing as a warlock I had this trinket upgraded to epic, a good upgrade if my warlock used attacks instead of spells.

Quest Name:	Start and description
1 In the Ruin of Rebellion	Quest start from Theotar 30 42.4. Use a mirror to enter Sinfall. Mirror is in ruin behind NPC use steps to get down ruin. When you go through the mirror Find Vorpalia ( you will just see blades O-o.
2 Prince Renathal	First press on 4 Container of Dark Will they are around the hole. then Jump into the Maw.
3 Cages For All Occasions	Find Prince Renathal 34.7 18.7 He will be in cage.
4 A Royal Key	Slay Ghelak the Incarcerator 30 20.5 to get Renathal's Cage Key then go back Prince Renathal.
5 Torghast, Tower of the Damned	Find an entrance to Torghast 31.3 12.7 press on gate to enter Skoldus Hall, Torghast. Inside go to gate wher is lever on other side - NPC will go thru gate and open it for You. You will see Orb press on it to get passive skill/stats then use portal/gate. That instance have 3 floors killing mobs normal/rare and picking orbs you can get more passive skills. On last floor ( floor 3 ) You need to kill Warden of Souls then stand on red mist and animation will start.
6 Refuge of Revendreth	You need to meet: Theotar, The Accuser and General Draven in order. That will finish storyline.

Contrary to all the advice here I just completed this for the first time and did SIX floors , not 3, the warden is on the 6th floor. Kill him and bring back Bain. The mistake I made is all the purple stuff loots is gone now I should have used it to buy things at the vendor inside the instance.

I’ve been two months in beta doing Torghast on a daily basics so and learned a few tips that might help.

1. In The Upper reaches, one of the active wings this week, try to collect 250 phantasma before getting to the vendor on floor three and buy: Ravenous Anima Cell (the orange sphere): which allows you to turn any non-elite creature into an anima cell (i.e. a power). Well, in the Upper reaches there are a lot of mobs called “skeletal remains” and some others called “lumbery creation”. You have to use the orange sphere of the vendor in one of these “lumbery creation” and you will turn it into a power cell that makes the skeletons of the jailer’s tower drop 10 times more ghost. Once you have learned this power, dedicate yourself to killing the skeletal remains you find and they will give you from 90 phantasma in smaller groups up to 250 if you gather a large group. You can get over 2000 phantasma to spend at the second vendor.

2. In the other wing: soul forges it will be useful to use the Ravenous Anima Cell (orange sphere) and throw it at any of the flame sworn casters out there (any of the magicians who cast fire will do); that will turn it into a power that gives you the ability to absorb 60% of the fire damage in the entire Soul Forge. Very useful for counteracting the fire debuff and all fire damaging areas in that torghast wing.

3. Using the orange sphere on a Maw Rat will give you a “Maw Rat Harness” that allows you to turn into a giant rat and run through torghast at 100% speed, very useful for moving faster. You can use the harness for the entire run.

4. In the wing called Mort'regart (not yet opened) there's some shadow elementals that leave very damaging areas on the floor; using the orange sphere on them will give you a power that makes that areas heal you instead of damage you.

5. As for complicated bosses like Patrician Cromwell, if you buy this item called Smoke Capsules, price 35 phantasma, (buy about 3 or 4), you throw them at the boss and he will fail most of the hits

All these tips / tricks are going to be great for you when you unlock the twisting Corridors, the part of torghast that is 18th floors. As a peculiarity, this tower allows you to choose between two powers at the beginning and if you do not like them, you just can leave the instance and enter again, and the powers will have changed. Each time you will be in a different scenario with different starting powers. My advice here is that you get into the tower if the scenario is “Chambers of fractures” because here there are countless “skeletal remains” and doing what I have said you will start with a good amount of phantasma from the fourth floor onwards. In the twisting corridors, getting many powers will make things much easier and having a lot of phantasma makes easier to acquire powers. At the end of the twisting corridors, on the 18th floor, it is easy to have about 80 powers and more than 200 k HP if you get powers that increase HP. Powers and Hp needed for the bosses that have 2 million+ hp on the 18th floor.

<You step in the center of a circle, with Renathal and his allies at the four points of it. They channel anima through you to follow you back to Revendreth.>
<You fall unconscious, somewhere along the way. All of you fall back through the portal you created to get to the Maw in this case. You wake up in Sinfall, close to the Sinfall Mirror. All four of your allies, plus the animated sword Vorpalia who is now serving as the prince's weapon, are nearby.>
The Curator: Oh, that worked? And the Maw Walker survived! Fantastic. Um... best not leave the Maw like that again. It may undo your existence.

As of 06 Jan 2021, Twisting Corridors as well as the whole of Torghast is bugged. After a minute or so of being inside, you get a Loading Screen that kicks you out at the entrance.

You can chose any of the Anima Powers that you like, it does not matter for any future attempts on the Torghast Tower but is only for this quests attempt.

Questing through the main campaign of Shadowlands didn't give my 60 rogue enough gear to stay alive during the fight. Standing out of reach while the NPCs kill him doesn't give you credit and will just portal you outside and you have enter all over again.

I had to stand out of reach until he got below 5% health (don't worry if the prince dies, he'll come back in and continue to fight). Below 5% I hit all my buffs and sprinted in with just enough time to land a couple of shots.

Also do not use vanish unless you want to reset the fight and recover to try again.

To Kill the WARDEN OF SOULS
You need to pull him "south", onto the stairs where Prince R's pals are waiting.
As soon as he is out of that circle, his hangers-on cannot help him or harm you (it seems).

Nothing works with the Warden of Souls for me with my DK. Easy with a ranged toon - just pop the adds. Death grip doesn't cool down and I just end up getting melted - army of the dead - no matter..

At least there's the Fate option for covenant selection.

When my Alt Hunter goes in to T orghast there is no Ve'nish to meet him, only a cube that does not enable me to proceed. This toon is dead in the water as far as storyline progress. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Has anyone ever lost the ability to move backward while fightiing on this quest?
Keybind S is default and suddenly it quit working while I was fighting on floor 2. I use both kb and mouse, so it was very disruptive to my game while fighting 3-4 elites. I'm a wuss.
I got to floor 4, still without being able to move backwards, using my strafe keys - Q and E, I was able to hold my own for a while, but died. On rez, I further checked my S key still didn't work. Even resetting my Keybinds to default didn't help.
Hearthed out and went to covenant sanctum, where the S key was fine. I've reported it, but not too confident it'll be easily resolved.

Just did this with Shadowlands Chromie Time as a level 50 Warlock. It felt really overtuned. Even with a stam buff I only had a few seconds before the mobs he spawns would drain me to 0.

If you're stuck on "Enter the Ritual...", there's a faded reddish swirl on the floor that you need to stand on.

Description

My allies were taken into the Tower of the Damned, and so we must follow. I do not think we must venture deep into those halls, which is good as I do not believe either of us is in shape for a fight like that. Come, let us find our way to one of the most dangerous towers in all of existence.
