Note that at this current patch deleting this quest will remove any Lumenstone you have in your bags, so do not accept until you have all 50 if you need the quest space in your log.

You may still collect the Lumenstone without the quest.

It seems there are other sources for Lumenstones than just the missions. Are there any high drop sources?

This questline is done by the class hall followers. It wasn't too clear to me from the quest test.

I'm late to the Legion Class Hall game, but let me share something that might be valuable to others.

By the time I received this quest, I had obtained 6 of 5-allowed Champions: Vindicator Boros, Justicar Julia Celeste, Lady Liadrin, Lord Maxwell Tyrosus, Delas Moonfang, and Aponi Brightmane.

When equipping my Champions to do these 6 missions, I was not able to click "start mission" and got the error that I needed to *deactivate* one Champion before I could continue, saying I could not have more than 5 Champions active.
Going to my Follower tab and choosing to deactivate a Champion pops up a message saying "Are you sure you want to deactivate *so-and-so"? Reactivating a follower costs 250 gold.

So you're telling me I can't keep all the followers you have given me *active*, AND I have to PAY to reactivate the one I deactivate once I get to the Order Hall Achievement for x-amount of followers? Thanks a lot! Goblineering with "best deals anywhere" at it's finest. :-/

Not knowing which one to deactivate, I researched each of the Lumenstone Missions first to see what they had in common. NessieMo's comment from April 2018 helped with that here. (Thank you, @NessieMo !)
The followers that seem the most helpful to these missions were Vindicator Boros, Lord Maxwell Tyrosus, and Justicar Julia Celeste, all having dual abilities to defeat Legion Mission Mobs while still using Silver Hand Templars (30% success rate as opposed to Squires with 15% success rates). Lady Liadrin showed helpful with her Rebuke, and Delas Moonfang with her Consecration.
But Aponi Brightmane did not show having an appropriate special ability to specifically target the first mission "Lumenstone: Stormheim". So she is the one I deactivated for the duration of these missions in order to complete this quest (and I will /bow and drink the kool-aid by paying 250 gold to reactivate her when it is time for me to reactivate her).

It's a shame this limitation is in place, as all 6 Champions could have balanced out abilities as a team nicely throughout the duration of these missions.

For those coming to this quest post-8.0 and just looking to plow through it, expect it to take 5-6 hours. You're required to collect 50 lumenstone, and each mission is 2 hours long (base time). I was able to drop each to 1h (with the appropriate followers) and after 5 missions had my 50.The amounts were 8, 9, 10, 11, and finally 12. Whether this is just an interesting case of a rare RNG giving me sequential amounts or by design, I couldn't say. Nevertheless, if we assume that there is a range, with 8 as the minimum, and it is RNG, an extremely unlucky player would have to run 7. If you're that poor soul, my sincerest apologies. For everyone else, 5-6 hours of mission time seems a safe bet.

Why is the paladin order hall questline time-locked behind this #$%^ty grindfest snooze wait time idle crap while im trying to just get done with it. Jesus.

This is quest is just the worst. I've failed two missions in a row that were above 80% chance of success. Even for a great expansion like Legion there was some real clunker design decisions like these stupid order hall missions.

This is my sixth class hall campaign and no other class I've completed has had missions anywhere near this hard. Even with level 44-45 characters I put 880 equipment on I am getting ~37% chance at most. This had led it to taking far longer than advertised. Once again, on other classes with these do 5 missions quests I was getting 96%-100% success chance with 1 follower and a set of recruits at most. Insanity. Perhaps it is bugged. The mission level is 43, I outlevel it, outgear and I'm countering the effects. I've maxed my followers just from xp tomes and how many times I've failed these missions. May the light watch over you, Paladin.

My best advice is farm rares for nethershards on broken shore to buy XP tomes and relinquished armor sets. Nethershards ARE warband transferable through the currency interface. Best of luck.

Also generally speaking the addon BTWQuests has made it so much easier to stay on track with the specific quests for class hall campaign/progress.

the entire legion expansion must have been like driving in a car while an autistic kid screeches in the back seat. i skipped this when it was current content; i sincerely don't know how or why y'all put up with this ridiculousness. gating a *mount* behind this much fetch-quest stuff is bizarre and deeply unfun. twice i've run paladin order hall missions with like an 85% chance to succeed - always fails. Waiting hours upon hours to fail getting these "lumenstones"... dude i'd have burnt blizzard to the ground if i had been around in legion.

Description

To prepare for the battle ahead, we will need armor and weapons.

We have learned of lumenstone, a rare metal that can negate magic... even fel magic.

It is found in small quantities all over the Broken Isles, and many of the native races use it in their own metalcrafting.

We should send our champions to target enemies around the Broken Isles - there should be plenty of lumenstone to be found in their stockpiles.
