For those without coordinates: Socrethar's Rise is accessible from a stairway directly north of the letter "C" in Socrethar's Rise on your in-game map where you see the cliff-face's edge.

So far as I've seen, killing mobs is the only way to earn credit for this quest aside from destroying a demonic portal (shaped like four spikes meeting in the middle.) But there's lots of handy lootables that give you buffs like:

Supply Crate, which gives you bonus shadow damage,
Filled Draenic Flask, which gives you an extra 15% haste and movement speed,
Fruit Basket, which gives you an HP regen of 1% every 3 seconds,
and Draenic Gems, which gives you a bonus multistrike chance of 20%.

Some findings:
- Sargerei Worker gives 1% credit.
- Sargerei Initiate gives 1% credit.
- Sargerei Acolyte gives 1% credit.
- Sargerei Demonspeaker gives 1,5% credit. (killed four of those, two gave me 1%, the other two gave me 2%)
- Sargerei Darkblade gives 3% credit.
- Sargerei Binder gives 3% credit (2% for the Binder, 1% for the demon, thanks mahonisaya!)
- Nightshade Consort gives 5% credit (thanks Goddessa39!)
- Sargerei Demonlord gives 7% credit.
- Destroying a portal gives 5% credit.

link shows 4 red dots inside the red circle, that is where the demon portals spawn. Was heavily farmed on frostmourne and they respawn about every 2-4 mins. They give alot of process on the progress bar and is alot faster than killing mobs.

Location: Take the stairs from 44.89, 70.10 up to the plateau. For Horde, continuing on the road from eastern Talador will take you into Shadowmoon Valley. Or, take Azure Water Strider from the coast of Spires of Arak along the southern coast of Shadowmoon Valley.

Strategy and Mob Percentages

This is one of the more straightforward quests—-kill different types of mobs for progression based on their health/difficulty. Minibosses give the most progress at 25% each.

There are several objects that provide buffs in the area, such as Shadowblade Oil, Distilled Essence, Gem Dust.

If you lose your disguise you'll also lose the quest givers. You'll then need to go searching for the pieces of the disguise again.

Compared to the other 3 garrison 'Assault' missions this can take a little longer. If you are going solo, beware the Demonlords; they have a lot of HP & the time it takes to bring one down can mean that other mobs join in to beat you up.
For some reason my disguise only worked on the first 'run' when the assault was a bonus objective alongside a series of quests.

If you're not able to do this bonus objective just by entering the area or unable to pick up the quest to allow you to do it, you can buy a Missive for 1000 garrison resources from Sergeant Grimjaw in your Garrison to start the quest. :)

When you get your disguise, here's what you need to know:
1) If you fight anyone while in disguise, you will destroy your disguise and have to re-kill people to recreate one.
2) If you simply right-click the buff on the top when you want to fight someone, then you don't destroy your disguise. It goes right back into your bag so you can wear it again.

I thought I could force spawn Demidos by doing the Assault on Socrethar. But, nope. I purchased the missive from garrison quartermaster, and completed the assault with no requirements/objective to kill Demidos.

Unforunately, I'll just have to sit and wait. BUT! I won't, because that's an epic waste of my time personally and I'll just buy the damn pet from AH.

At the time of this post, 12k on Stormrage Alliance. 15k on Area-52 Horde (the cost of the pet).
