The holy protection the prince gives you does not let you stay in shadowform, mb was also not giving me orbs, made this quest a pain for a Spriest

Ahahahaha... so in the end, it is not Varian, but his whelp who comes to face me. You run bravely to your death, young one.

Anduin Wrynn:
I will not let you do this. I swear to it.

Garrosh Hellscream:
Stop me then, human.

Ishi:
Auuugh... Auuuuuugggghhhhh! This pain! I cannot control it!

Garrosh Hellscream:
Fight the sha - master it! Use it!

Ishi:
Do you speak the truth, Garrosh? Can the Horde truly survive another war?

We have lost so much, Warchief. Our families, dead. Our friends, lost. Our homeland, gone. How much more must our people suffer?

Why should we be slaves to honor, when we could slaughter the children of our enemies while they sleep? My blade thirsts for Alliance blood!

Garrosh Hellscream:
Control your hatred, Ishi. There is killing, and then there is murder. Direct your rage to our enemies.

Ishi:
At night, I see the faces of all those I have slain. Where do our spirits go after our bodies lay cold? I fear... death.

Garrosh Hellscream:
Use your fear, Ishi! Turn it on your foes. When death arrives, will you stand and face it or kneel in defeat?

Ishi:
Warchief! I... I have failed you.

Garrosh Hellscream:
Yes, Ishi. You have.

Your interference has cost me a great warrior, young prince. You'll pay with your life.

Anduin Wrynn:
That is where you are wrong, Garrosh.

The mogu made the Divine Bell to create chaos, but the pandaren created a special mallet to turn the echoes of that chaos into perfect harmony. That mallet was hidden for thousands of years, until now.

Garrosh Hellscream:
Die, whelp!

Garrosh Hellscream:
Your Alliance must be at its end if you're sending your children against me.

I will let you live so that you can tell your King of the price for his continued defiance!

The fight against Ishi is actually really challenging. If you don't pick up Anduin's orbs to get a shield (Ishi kept knocking me around and fearing me before I can get them), you will die.

I couldn't stop myself from standing between Garrosh and Anduin. And when he threatened Anduin over Ishi's death, I actually typed out, "If you want to harm the boy, you'll have to go through me Hellscream!"

In five years of playing this game, I don't think I've ever been moved to do anything like that before.

As a Hunter, I found the fight easy... Send in pets, set traps, and then stand back and Pew, Pew, Pew. Didn't need to use the orbs.

As a player, I found this quest line exciting and I am looking forward to see what happens next patch.

It is good to see the story evolve between father and son and how each set about accomplishing their goals and react to situations.

Ishi is non-interactable at the beginning, you must wait after entering the platform area for some dialogue, then kill the adds that spawn (these are relatively painless, but if you let too many of them hang around and stack up their buffs, they'll start to get scarey, so only AoE if you can do so moderately quickly), followed by more chatter before Ishi activates.

After killing him, you must wait to gain credit for the bell destruction, as you cannot interact with it yourself, and it is achieved by some spoiler-tastic RP which I will not mention.

As long as you keep your protection buff up by walking through Anduin's shiny balls - unless you're a shadow priest, as it has been noted by other posters that it messes up shadowform - and remember to step out of the red pillage-esque circle, it's a doddle. However, he will do a knockback, which is a pain even if not something hideously fearful, and drop wee circles of yuk around. The main thing to watch is that you time your orb-plucking well, as the buff does not stack - although it will refresh if you pick up another before your current buff wears off - and Anduin chucks out a finite amount, so if you gobble them up too voraciously, you risk having to cope with a chunk of the fight un-protected, which is a nasty experience.

This quest may be buggy.

I ran this quest today on my affliction warlock. The first time I accepted the quest and started the event, it got stuck after Anduin did his speech. Ishi, it turns out, was not present on the dias. Without him, the event can't continue, and you can't do anything.

I'm not sure of the exact order I did this in, but I flew back in and dropped the quest. I picked it up again, and Anduin was still down there. So, I flew away and either dropped it and then logged out and back in, or logged out and back in and then dropped it again. I flew back and watched Garrosh and Anduin despawn, then flew all the way away out of range of the dias and then back again, picked up the quest, and the whole event was reset. Ishi was present the second time.

As an affliction lock, with the enhanced voidwalker, I wasn't even aware that Anduin had a buff or that there was a mechanic in play. It was a simple tank and spank. The quest may have been bugged, though. I may have had to move a couple of times, but it wasn't anything that stood out. I definitely didn't pick up an orb or have any problems with my rotation.

I'm having trouble with this as a Shadow Priest. Should I just avoid the orbs and try to burn Ishi down while kiting him around or is there a better strategy?

.. and the reward for all this death-defying saving of the Alliance is .... a Grand Gryphon? The Grand Gryphon that is pretty much indistinguishable from the Golden Gryphon?

I feel so used.

As a Rogue.. Vanishing will bug this quest and Ishi will bug out and you will not be able to continue the fight until it resets. Which can take some time. I tried to Abandon it and to log out and in, but nothing. Had to wait it out.

bugged for me the quest guy dissapears and theres noone apart from the guys ouside the ring and been here for 20 mins now abandoned twice and logged out a few times nothing...

This bugged for me too, died twice and Ishi was no longer there. I didn't have to abandon the quest, but I did have to hearth out of the zone. Then I simply flew back and Ishi was returned for me to continue.

I had a great deal of trouble soloing this as a Frost DK, but when I swapped to Unholy with added minion, it was a lot easier. I'm only packing an average iLevel of 470 so that probably didn't help!

Have they nerfed it? The first time I did it, on my mage, I actually died. I just did it on a couple alts incl. a shadow priest and it was like nothing. I didn't use the things Anduin made because I didn't notice them. And honestly my druid does not have any better gear than what my mage had when she did the quest. I noticed all those orcs just standing there, did they used to attack?

Aunduin looks like a crumpled doll. He lays as still as a stone, and the only movement comes from the frigid aie ruffling his fair, golden hair.

sit quietly for a while, until the cold settles into your bones. The bell is destroyed, but the silence is deafening.

Out of the corner of eye, you see the slightest flicker from the boy's hand. lean in close. He breathes - but just barely! Anduin is alive!

A breathe escapes between lips. After what seems like days of letting the chill take your body, your lungs frozen in grief of losing Anduin...and he's alive...only just.

"D...did we...do it?"

Anduin mumbles the words, even though the effort clearly costs him.

"L...look...in...my...bag...
Use...flare..."

Fennie lands, and you tell her urgently what happened. We need to save Anduin!

"Oh no! Prince Anduin!"

help Fennie take the remains of the Divine Bell off of Anduin's crumpled, barely alive body and help him gently onto Fennie's kite. Fennie touches arm reassuringly.

"Don't worry. I'll get Anduin back to Lion's Landing Safely. We'll meet ye there."

Description

Garrosh is right over there, and he's going to ring that bell at any moment.

We don't have time to wait for my father's army. This is our only chance to stop him!

I'll attempt to appeal to his senses before resorting to using the Harmonic Mallet.
