Zoom right in on the Reeds and click the cogwheel at the roots.

Apart from zooming in, somehow as of current beta build (april 16th) jumping can make the cogwheel appear if it wasn't when you ran up to it

After the quest is turned in;

Joro Ironbrow says: The reeds of the Singing Pools are the hardest in all of the land, but they are as air before my mighty brow.

He then proceeds to place the reeds in a stack and then smashes through them all with his forehead.

Joro Ironbrow says: Many have tested my claim, and I yet stand proven.

Joro then walks along the pathways to 74,46 and despawns

Try and keep out of the water, if you land in the water you get turned into a frog and the cranes will attack you

I looked at this quest and The Lesson of Dry Fur to see if anyone had mentioned where the "lore" comes from; the fact that you turn into a frog if you go into the water (or a skunk when you first go to get the quests from Aysa...).

This is a reference to an manga/anime from the late 80's called Ranma 1/2. In that story, while on a training journey in the Bayankala Mountain Range in the Qinghai Province of China, Ranma Saotome and his father Genma fell into the cursed springs at Jusenkyo. When someone falls into a cursed spring, they take the physical form of whatever drowned there hundreds or thousands of years ago whenever they come into contact with cold water. The curse will revert when exposed to hot water until their next cold water exposure. Genma fell into the Spring of the Drowned Panda (and therefore becomes a giant panda when hit with cold water) while Ranma fell into the Spring of the Drowned Girl (so he becomes a "she"!). Many other characters in the story also came into contact with these cursed pools...one turns into a pig, another a cat, and yet another, a duck.

In the game, we saw the Pool of the Drowned Skunk, and Pool of the Drowned Frog...but if you explored just a little bit, there is also the Pool of the Drowned Crane, Drowned Turtle, and Drowned Baby Crocolisk. ^_^
