You can use the potion even when in combat.

Do note that the Potion of Stealth granted through this quest is usable in combat as a makeshift vanish.

Using the potion dismisses my water elemental which has a 3 minute cooldown. Not cool.

Anyone know if this potion is useable outside of Gilneas starting zone? if so it would be way more valuable as a makeshift vanish for classes who can't use the skill.

Upon completion of this quest an event starts:

King Genn Greymane says: It's over Godfrey. You have no support left among the eastern lords.
Lord Godfrey says: No... I'd sooner die than have one of your kind for a king!

And then lord Godfrey runs away.

Lord Ashbury up the hill to the top and then right across the bridge. Two guards but can catch him on the side of the building. Lord Walden up the path to the left passed all the sheep. He comes out of the house on the left and walks to the gate so you can catch him alone. Yesterday he was where Lord Ashbury was and I killed him but got no credit so maybe it was a glitch. All the watchman turn green and friendly after you take kill them both and take the next quest from King Greymane.

i think i found out how to get other races in here... just make a new worgen and invite it into your guild that has the perk that lets you summon your party. Get the worgen outside the starter area and try to summon a friend there. Then just do the quests leading up to getting the top hat

Did anybody else get owned by the guards when they went to turn in the quest? First of all, you can't use the potion on the way back to the king. Second of all, the king is guarded by the enemy, and in order to get close to him you have to kill like 8 of them. As a lvl 10 this is just not possible. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

If you're a druid, you can prowl while using the potion. Double stealth ftw.

I did this with my level 11 Wogen Hunter-Marksman. Drank potion and killed 2 Mob. Drank potion to return to quest giver too. Level up.

After assassinating lord walden and baron ashbury, you will no longer see the potion for stealth beside the quest objectives, BUT it will remain in your inventory for use until you turn in the quest.

I killed Lords Walden and Ashbury using the potion, but afterwards NONE of the guards turned green! Only glitch i had was that i wasn't away quick enough after killing lord Ashbury so i had to kill him twice. Now the guy who i am supposed to turn this quest in is surrounded by red guards! What can i do?

Took the potion, both the guys I'm supposed to kill are green (unattackable) I can't hit them let alone kill them. Any suggestions? I've tried dropping out of the potions effect, it just got me attacked by the guards. Both barons are still green.

As I made my way up to Lord Walden, I couldn't help but notice the symbolism of walking through the giant herd of sheep in worgen form.
Wolf in sheep's clothing, amirite?

The stealth from the potion works the same as rogue stealth: the dogs with the blue eye over them can see you at normal range, and if a mob turns around to look at you, you'd better stop moving or walk away. The potion can be used in combat if you accidentally aggro something.

As a rogue, make sure you are in 'normal' stealth when you start attacking, instead of 'poison stealth'. Even though the buff is exactly the same, you can't use abilities that require stealth.

Am I the only one that thinks Blizzard completely fails at story telling? (ironic since they are supposedly known for lore)

This quest line makes no sense. You run all over to kill two other guys while the King is standing right there, then Godfrey runs off just because you talked to the king even though he has all those guys standing around? I don't get it.

I'm actually curious if it is possible to get this hat through "Summon Friend" ( which you obtain for 90 days from RAF ) from the very beginning in the Worgen Starting area...
Although, worgen's have some quests that get you into a new phase.
So I highly doubt it's even possible to get into the worgen starting area with the summon friend. xDD

After you hand in this quest and the area phases to make all the watchmen "green" (friendly); if you return to where you killed Ashbury and Walden, you'll find they're alive again and also flagged as friendly.
I'm a little surprised blizz changed their flagging instead of simply removing them in this phase.
You're no longer able to interact with them meaningfully.
I suppose if another character comes along to do the quest you'd now see them fighting a friendly Ashbury/Walden, instead of fighting nothing.

For anyone having trouble getting attacked while turning this in:

- Make sure you are in stealth mode.
- Sneak in the back way, between the rocks and fence at 76.85, 72.12.
- Avoid the enemies and sneak up to turn in.
- As soon as possible after clicking on the NPC, click Complete! You have to be fast or the guards might kill you. They become friendly upon turn in of quest.

with the level squish, you'll be around level 15-16 by the time you get this quest, and you'll be able to use running wild. my heirloomed mage effortlessly arcane-explosioned every unfortunate mob that crossed her path.

might depend on the class, of course, but otherwise there are zero consequences to making the assassination of these lords very very public. sorry krennan.

Description

King Greymane has been taken prisoner by Lord Godfrey in Tempest's Reach!

He managed to convince two of the eastern lords to go with his plan. The fool seems to think he can strike a deal with the Forsaken by turning Greymane over to them.

Listen carefully, <name>. We need to resolve this with as little bloodshed as possible.

This potion will allow you to sneak in undetected. We need you to assassinate the traitorous lords before this gets out of hand!
