In the beta, the horse you're riding counts as one too, so just mount one and fetch four more.

For those idiots like me with carbonite.... or another such addon that just states were you can get the horses... and can't think for themselves.. You need to return to the gal that gave you the quest.

I didn't know what an "ettin" was before this quest.

Picked it up from Miss Crowley and headed across the bridge thinking... huh... some kind of wolf or other predatory anim- WHAT THE ---- IS THAT!

This is an easy quest, just stay clear of the Ettin when your rounding up your horses. And as stated the one your riding counts as one of the mounts...Happy questing!

I ran into a bug on this quest recently where I cannot complete the quest, it looks like I am desynced from the server, but chat IS working. I spoke with a GM and it is a known issue. Currently, there is a confirmed server-side bug that happens sporadically for some people on all vehicle based quests. If you run into this problem, please try these steps:

1. Log out of World of Warcraft
2. Open your WoW folder and rename Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to something else, like CacheOLD, InterfaceOLD, and WTFOLD.
3. Reload World of Warcraft and try to complete the quest.
4. If you can complete it, congratulations! You can navigate back to your WoW folder and delete the new Cache/Interface/WTF and rename the ones you earlier renamed to OLD to their original names so you can have all your addons and settings back to normal.

This is NOT an addons issue, but these steps have alleviated the bug for some players. If you still have troubles, you can try these steps a few times or wait for the hotfix/patch. (I had to reset the folders several times before the quest would complete.)

Quest was buggy on 5/24/11. Had same problem - couldn't complete with QG - once. Other times, I mounted first horse, and no matter how close I got to another one, game always said I was too far away. Tried abandoning, re-logging, several times. Tried the folder-renaming, didn't work at first, but the second time I re-logged after that, I completed the quest.

I was having the same problem. What worked for me was, that I only brought one horse at a time and not try to gather them up first. Whenever I tried with more than one horse it felt like I had disconnected from the server, although the chat was working fine.

The desync bug can be force fixed by setting your graphics to the lowest settings (view distance is the important one). Why this works, I am not sure, but I think it forces the server to send you information more regularly. Devs are aware of this issue but, are no help.

after everything else, this worked for me! (thank god, i thought my hunter was going to be stuck at level 9 forever) after you change the video settings, log out then back in so they can take effect. i was able to ride a hrose and rope 4 others back to the questgiver!

OMFG this bug sucks....i tried everything everyone said....renamed directories...turned down ALL my video settings....still the best i can do is lasso 3 horses and then they stop following me...grr...

Well....I guess i'll have to play one of my other 40 or so toons....

I had the same problem with the not being able to rope the horses, etc. Here is what i did:
go back to the questgiver (lorna) and from her go to the nearest bunch of horses you can find. then jump on a horse and rope as many as you can (if you can only rope 2, do just 2) and then go back to her. she will accept the horses in 2s or 3s, so its fine, no need to log out, etc. sorry for the confusing explanation!

i got all the five horses.. but i doesnt get back to the person that gived me the quest, WITH all the five horses.. and it still stand 0/5 horses caught.. how?

If you do die, you get resurrected the wrong side of the mountains and a couple of impenetrable gates, so you have to take resurrection sickness, and then hearth back to Darkhaven.

This quest is awful. It is way too easy to ride out of its range and lose your horse.

Description

Listen, <name>. We're not going to make it very far without transportation, are we?

If we just hightail it out of here, the forsaken will catch up to us in no time at all.

Rounding up some horses from the stable grounds southeast of here would normally be a breeze, but there's one snag.

That last quake must've spooked Koroth, the ettin, down from the mountains. If we don't get our horses soon, I fear that he will.
