Find these all over the Northern area of the zone. The little valley between the road and the Kurzen camp to the East is the best; around 41, 9.

The Young Panther seem to be few and far between compared to their more powerful brethren, the Panther. It took me 3X's as long to kill all 10 Young Panthers. Very easy quest to complete! At the time, I was lvl34 (Hunter) and had no problems.

Solo'd very easily on my shadow priest at 30. Best place to find these, as stated above, would be around 41, 9. Plenty to kill there, finished the quest in no time.

lvl 29 marksmen, soloed, good spot to stop and build up your leather supply if leatherworking is your game, lots of medium/heavy leather to be had.

The coordinates for the above location seem to have changed with Cataclysm. I have found a bunch of young panthers around 53,23, just below the Kurzen Compound.

Well while I was doing this quest I was level 110 and it took me really really long time because I couldn't find more than 2 Young Panters in marked zones or around them. There aren't any Young Panters at 41,9 because they renamed them to Panters. So I wish you good luck if you need loremaster or you are just leveling up your char.

This quest series is incredibly annoying at high level because they don't aggro and break stealth so you have to stumble around till your on top of them to see them.

For anyone trying to do this quest today, it looks like the young panthers don't have nameplates (e.g. from Plater) when they're stealthed, so it might appear that there are none in the areas the quest marks. I found two over maybe 10 minutes trying to look for nameplates, but then I noticed some lower level characters managing to find some out of seemingly nowhere. Stick close to the ground and use a bunch of aoe, and you'll find them a lot quicker that way.

Not sure why these panthers would magically lose an evolutionary advantage as they mature. As a max level character trying to complete all the quests, this is the hardest one in the zone. Their stealth puts rogues to shame. You can be right on top of one and barely see it. Then the following quest the panthers completely forget how to stealth, sit there in the open, and get wrecked.

Description

If you want to be a part of the hunt with this crack group under Hemet Jr.'s leadership, you're going to need to prove yourself an able panther hunter. You should start out easy: just focus on the young panthers for now. As you improve and gain experience as a hunter, you will undoubtedly find increasingly dangerous quarry.

Start by heading east. Return to me when you are a master panther hunter.
