Minefield just north of the camp. Avoid the mines, while looting the dead corpses laying around them.

You can walk instead of run, the mines will less likely blow up, but it's certainly not as much fun!

Being a pet class is very helpful here, you can use him as a minesweeper, might hurt his feelings though...

Although classes with pets (warlocks, hunters, mages) can use their pet as a "minesweeper", your pet doesn't follow exactly behind you, so can trigger mines that will also bounce you around.

If you don't want to spend the extra time bouncing around from one side of the mine field to the other, dismiss your pet before entering the mine field. There is nothing in the field that you will need to use your pet to kill.

I had the devil of a time with this quest and ended up missing a huge chunk of the Azshara quest chain, so I'm just commenting in case it happens to anyone else and they run around bewildered for hours same as I did. Though if you're here, you're already on the right track - finding the quest you don't realise you're missing is the stumper!

I completed the Horzak Zignibble quest line then Another Warm Body, but Molotov didn't have any new quests for me after welcoming me to the Bilgewater Battalion. I thought it a little odd but wandered off and found some more quests to do elsewhere - I ended up completing the whole of the Secret Lab and Sea Shrine chains, the Blackmaw Doublecross and the hunt for Azuregos. It was only when I got stuck at 69/100 quests completed that I realised I was missing (a lot!) Eventually I worked out that I needed to come back to Forlorn Ridge and lo and behold, suddenly there are 3 quest givers standing around demanding my attention - where were they back when I was at the right point in the quest chain?

Sorry if this seems blindingly obvious to anyone who has done all these quests, but it's the first time I've had a quest chain 'break' like this and surely I can't be the only person it has happened to? I work my way methodically through quest chains as I enjoy the storylines, so this isn't a case of rushing and missing obvious clues, something really went awry at this point - if I knew exactly what, I wouldn't have had a problem :)

If anyone is having trouble on this I personally had got launched all of the place while running. I turned my character to walk instead of run (the / above your 10-key on keyboard) and simply walked down and didn't set off any mines. I was able to walk what seemed like closer to the mines without them detonating. Give this a try if having difficulty.

The damage from the mines didn't get squished with the stat squish. 2-3 of these will kill you now instead of just harmlessly bouncing you around. Each one deals 450-550 damage at level 14.

This quest almost made me quit my Beast Mastery hunter spec permanently. So incredibly frustrating when pets just randomly re-spawn as you're trying to sneak between mines. I tried killing them. I dismissed them.They kept coming back. Ultimately just had to change specs in order to complete this.

Don't get it. All the playthroughs are by high-level characters - yes, I don't doubt I could do this quest at level 70 or whatever, but I'm level 17. If I use my pet as a minesweeper, he gets blown away, if I run to the same place, so do I. If I walk slowly and avoid his path, I get blown away. I can manage that twice before I die. So how do you actually get through the minefield without dying all the time?

If you're having difficulty seeing the bodies, run this macro to target & mark them with a green triangle

Even now in Dragonflight, this is still a screwy quest. It didn't really do any damage to me at level 16, but it's really annoying when one of them goes off and bounces you when you were nowhere near it.

Description

First things first - we need more supplies for you and the other new recruits. There are some perfectly good standard issue packs on the bodies of our last round of recruits, in the minefield to the north.

Taking their lessons to heart, I'd recommend you avoid stepping on mines yourself.
