This is part of a quest chain in which the player aids Kalecgos (the new blue dragon aspect) in finding Azuregos and protecting him from the black dragonflight. It spans much of the land of Azshara and is composed of many quests, several of which are completely original in their concepts.

The death must be scripted in, even after casting Levitate you still die when you contact the ground. An interesting tidbit, if you simply jump off the cliff and land in the area where Azuregos is you won't take even 1hp of fall damage.

Oh boy, this is a beautiful quest. I love the dialogue between Azuregos and the player.

Hint : Do NOT talk to Anara and accept her offer to resurrect you until AFTER you've completed the next quest (to recruit Azuregos). You Will die when you go through the portal from Xylem's Tower. You have to. You'll see why. Stay a spirit, complete the quest, complete the NEXT quest Easy is Boring and THEN let Anara rez you. If you slip up and rez too early, you can go back to Xylem's Tower (the nearby Tower - not the Trial Peak!), take the portal again and fall to your timely demise to complete the Quest.

I Was kinda amused by touring the tower before taking the portal and finding 4 or 5 images of Xylem wandering around the top of the tower with each other.

Of interest to anyone attempting to level without dying - your transition to the spirit world in this quest (via falling to your death!) is entirely scripted and does not count as a death in the statistics so the quest is safe to do.

Joanna will be at the top of the tower for a player who's done the Legion artifact upgrade quests involving Archmage Xylem, but the portal to the spirit realm/location of Azuregos isn't behind her it's down at the bottom of the tower where her original location was.

Use the portal behind Joanna at Xylem's tower to find Anara the Spirit Healer and--hopefully--Azuregos.

Description

Azuregos! Yes, of course. Troubled old dragon, but lovely heart. I don't think all the years of vagabonds assaulting him have done him much good. He's a mite strange these days.

Not long ago, when returning yet again to our local Spirit Healer, Anara, I couldn't help but notice that her and Azuregos seemed to be hitting it off. I imagine he's still keeping her company.

The portal behind me is probably the quickest way to reach her. It might sting a little though.
