i was playing my alt dranie mage lvl 20 over there for rep points and i cant get this quest to acctivate is it cause of my lvl? ive done all the other beginer lvl quest up to this one...

After "picking" the frond and bringing it to Denalan he will plant the specimen in his planter. Stick around for a second and you will be able to harvest the newly grown frond, giving you 5x Sprouted Frond ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=5205 ), which can be used to heal yourself or someone else for a nice amount at that level.

I'm a level 23 druid, have done the timberling quests..and still cant do this quest. if i go to the trees, it just tells me something about the fruit. no quest. hmm. idk

as of patch 4.0.1 Denalan is a bit... laggy..
edit: oh and i only got the bogling root for this quest instead of the sprouted frond, i did the other quest like one as well and got bogling roots from both of them

For who know what reason, I was able to pick up this quest as a horde undead when I was working on BB King. I wasn't able to turn it in, sadly, since Denalan is hostile, but still...

Unlike the previous comments co-ordinates, the map image is right. 37,25 is where the frond is at in Cataclysm. It can be seen as a purple glow from behind the Oracle Glade.

As of 5.4 this seems to be glitched. I have tried it twice, different characters/accounts/servers... and the fronds do not appear to get the follow-up quest. I waited awhile, it wasn't lag. Best you can do if this happens is open a ticket, hope for the best, and expect the worst!

IMPORTANT:
A bug prevents the spawn of Sprouted Frond. After picking up the quest, The Shimmering Frond, do NOT turn in the quest to Denalan (43.8, 44.2) at the Wellspring Hovel, but to the Denalan who is next to Lake Al'Ameth, as Denalan at the Wellsping Hovel wont spawn the Sprouted Frond in the long plant stand after completing the quest and you will be unable to get the next quest. The Denalan (59.8, 59.6) that is to the east of Lake Al'Ameth (59.8, 59.6) he will spawn the Sprouted Frond and you can pick up the next quest The Shimmering Frond. If like me you turned it in to Denalan at the Wellspring Hovel, just travel to the one near the lake and log out and go onto another character who hasnt done the quest yet and turn it in to Denalan at the lake and log out, the plants should spawn and give you enough time to re-log back to your previous character and do the quest.

Still bugged as of 14/09/2020

Work-around mentioned here about logging in an alt worked for me. I didn't have anyone in Teldrassal so I had to make a new character. with HL and bonus I was level seven in minutes. Just grab the Pre-quest from the tree north of the Oracle Glade and run back to Denalan by Lake Al'Ameth, NOT at the house close by. Before speaking to him, logout and log in the character that needs the Simmering Fronds. move yourself to Denalan by the Lake and log out.

Log back in your new character and hand in the quest. three Simmering Fronds should appear in the planter. Quickly log out and log back in as your main and grab the quest from the planter.

P.S. Try and do this at a time where not many players are around. Denalan gets quite a few visitors during peak-time as he is a hub for several quests.

Bring a Shimmering Frond to Denalan. He can usually be found at Lake Al'Ameth, but sometimes travels to Wellspring Hovel.
