Quest seems to be bugged. After it forced me to kneel, I moved off to the side next to Nathanos and Sylvanas appeared.

When Baine starts talking, /reload. Worked for me, while the other suggestions didn't. I reloaded when he told Nathanos it wasn't the time or whatever.

It seems to be gated, if you can not complete the quest, try waiting a few minutes or coming back to it again later. It was only letting 1 at a time for our guild to go through it seemed

this quest is currently gated so only one person can do it at a time.
if someone else has started the RP just give it a moment and try again.

Sylvanas spawns by the stairs on the left side, as you're looking at the altar.
if she spawns and vanishes without speaking, you will need to click the altar again.

Completing Battle of Dazar'alor is required for this quest to be made available (the equivalent war campaign quest on Alliance side doesn't require finishing the raid quest, go figure).

If anyone's wondering where to pick this quest up in 8.2.5 it's aboard the Banshee's Wail for Horde, took me a while to spot the exclamation point. No doubt it's aboard the corresponding ship for Alliance.

After completing the achievement Tides of Vengeance and picking up the quest Battle of Dazar'alor you will see the following quest chain which starts at Nathanos on The Banshee's Wail.

1. The King's Death
2. The Return of Derek Proudmoore

This then will open up the 8.1.5 quest chain which can vary depending on if you sided with Saurfang or Sylvanas.

Sylvanas Loyalists will pick up: Righting Wrongs
Saurfang Loyalists will pick up: Righting Wrongs

Edit: I had the wrong quest listed for Sylvanas Loyalists. Sorry!

Surprisingly, they actually made it impossible to stand on King Rastakhan's corpse/altar. If you fly/hover directly above his corpse and dismount, your character will end up standing on an invisible platform a ways above the corpse! Just thought it was rather amusing that they actually designed/coded this. :)

I just wanted to report that I was finally able to turn in this quest. I did it in the past days, within a week I would say. Reason I say this is because I've been unable to do so for a long time. I have tried with and without War mode On and Off, with and without all my addons and so on. I've tried so many times and I had to listen to the whole RP-event always ending with me not being able to get a quest completed... UNTIL NOW! :)

Description

King Rastakhan is dead, the Zandalari fleet has been decimated, and we have lost valuable soldiers. The Dark Lady is on her way from Orgrimmar to assess the situation. We must figure out our next move before the Alliance strike again. I believe protocol now would be to pay respects to the fallen king. We will determine our next move afterwards.
