Don't an idiot like me and head straight for the cave, or Kadghar won't spawn, and no matter how many times you kill the mob Yorg Murkmouth won't drop anything!

Take Khadgar's flight, once you land in Suramar, head straight out to sea (or die at the hands of 110 mobs just inland) and swim down to the crash site, it has a swirly appearance, once you're there you'll get the seach credit.
Then enter the cave, at which point you'll get the credit for exploring it - no exploration required!
Then kill Yorg Murkmouth and loot the Mysterious Lightbound Object before hearthstoning back to Dalaran to hand the quest in.

Coordinates for TomTom / Paste users are:

/way Suramar 92.0, 61.2 Swim down to crash site
/way Suramar 94.6, 64.2 Cave Entrance - swim in to get credit
/way Suramar 94.4, 67.2 Kill Yorg Murkmouth and loot Mysterious Lightbound Object

This quest was greyed out for me at level 102 and I was a bit confused. Once I progressed my class hall quests to the part where you do the second follower mission, I was able to accept the quest. (Didn't have to wait for the mission to complete).

Clarification, the swirly (crash site) is at the bottom of the sea.
You have to swim ALL THE WAY to it for credit, as mentioned @ 92,61.

Once you've killed the Giant, Hearth to Dalaran, go to middle of city, port down to the Chamber of the Guardian and Khadgar is in the first room on the right.

In case you don't realize this -- or are having problems finding the turn in -- it's not down in the sewers. There is a portal in the middle of the room (the chamber in the center of Dalaran). The blue circle ports you down into the Chamber of the Guardian (where there are other portals to places, and Archmage Khadgar).

For those who like to past directly into TomTom:

They are listed here "backwards" because TomTom starts the arrow with what is listed last, not first.
To put them into game all at once, use the Paste addon from Curse.

Make sure you don't die in this encounter. The nearest GY is somewhere on the back side of Mars but the real fun thing is finding your way back to the cave entrance. Of course your spirit is not likely to drown but Yorg might choose to attack while you're in the process of rezzing, no matter how far outside his aggro range you started. A tough challenge makes for a better quest, right?

Tip for anyone not finding the quest breadcrumbs: run this print command query in the chat box, using Nalumus' quest link chart for the URLs...

/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(42887))

The number above, in bold, is the quest number in Wowhead's database (i.e., quest=42887) in your browser's URL for the quest page.
Replace just that number with the Wowhead quest link number to find any quests that hasn't been done in any quest chain in WoW.

It will give you a response of "true" (did complete the quest); or "false" (didn't complete the quest) in the chat box.

This will save you the round around trying to find where you left off in a long quest chain.

Save that run command for future reference in other l-o-n-g quest chains in the game, too.

The drop rate on the Mysterious Lightbound Object seems not to be 100% - I had to wait for Yorg Murkmouth to respawn once and kill him again to loot it.

Since The War Within Pre-Patch dropped, you must complete The Harbinger questline before Khadgar will return to the state where you can turn in the quest. If you dropped The Harbinger quest like I did, you can reaccept it through the Adventures Guide under suggested content.
