The quest target is a mob at your own level hidden deep inside a cave of level 110 mobs; reaching it may be a bit challenging, and probably a hearthstone is the best way out if you took up this quest at level 104 ...

Edit: the above was the case during most of the beta; luckily this is fixed in live.

The Kubrul is in the cave.
Drops Grayheft, Ancient Hammer of the Highmountain Tauren

Cave starts at 53.5, 76.1.
You have to go back from where you came from (And in Thunder Totem, instead of going up the mountain, turn left)
I would recommend you to jump down, when you see a bridge 50-70 yards below you
In the cave, when you see a bridge, just jump down-right

And yes, it will be hard to get into the cave with 110 mobs. Even for 110 you need to clear the area a little bit, because too much mobs can kill you there. That is why i would recommend everyone to skip profession quests till 110. Story will be much more consistent and you will have a feeling of doing one big questchain and not some seperate 3-4 quests with no ending

Just done it on live and the mobs are at your level, the mobs I was fighting where only 104.

What ever you do, DO NOT DIE. Getting back to your body will be the worst thing you will ever do. You will be transported to the top of the cave next to a spirit healer and the only way out is some convoluted route through this pvp craparena. There's no big map for you to find your way out so you'll have to rely on the crappy minimap image.

If you aren't already in the area, and have the Ironhorn Enclave flight point, I think that's the easiest way there.

Fly to Ironhorn Enclave flight point in Highmountain (56.9, 84.0), ride along the path southwest, then turn northwest (the path takes a sharp turn like a V), and follow it up the snowy peaks (there's a rope fence along parts of the path). The path curves from northwest to west to southwest...as you're at the northernmost part of that curve, around 50, 80, head straight north to the edge of the mountain, and look down the cliff where you'll see a wooden bridge leading to a door, and below and to its right on the ground is a cave entrance. Make your way down to the cave entrance (either carefully jumping down the mountain, slowfalling, gliding, or whatever). Its coordinates are 53.6, 76.2.

Directions within the cave are hard to describe, but you curve down a path and eventually find Kubrul, around 53.1, 73.3.

If you can stealth/prowl, you can bypass all the trash mobs, and just kill Kubrul to loot the Grayheft, Ancient Hammer of the Highmountain Tauren. You turn the quest in back at Ironhorn Enclave. If you have a Flight Master's Whistle, just get outside of the cave so you can use that, and it will take you back to Ironhorn Enclave.

The easiest way to get to Kubrul is to use a Goblin Glider Kit and glide your way right to him. Head out of Ironhorn Enclave towards the quest marker and make your way to the ledge overlooking the chasm (coords 54, 79). You should see a bridge below, and to the right of it you should see a big cave entrance. Use your glider and circle round and round until you can glide in through the cave entrance (and past the mobs guardian it). Steer to the right just as you enter the cave, and keep circling again until you reach the bottom or just cancel the glider and drop down. You should now stand right in front of Kubrul, without having had to slug your way through a half dozen or more mobs.

To get out, just use your Dalaran hearthstone and fly back to Ironhorn Enclave. It'll be much faster than fighting your way out.

If you die......

To get back to the path the leads between the two cave entrances.... You can res at the graveyard. Go foward and click on the feather stones and drop down. Go right (East). Aside from a place to heal, there are two signs (they say "Exit" if you hover over them. Behind them is a swirly area that will take you to a new spot. A ledge/ramp will take you down to a bridge. Head north to the path between the entrances.

I never like "jump" as a solution to finding a certain position; while it is probably the fastest way to get to the cave, I tried doing some hunting.

The no-jump method is fly to Stonehoof Watch, Highmountain. Head south along the path, you'll see a brown fence to your left and a short distance to the right you'll see an almost blind turn at 59.5, 68.3. Turn right and head south south west up the snowy path until you hit a flat region at 58.3, 72.7. Ahead you'll see a snowy slope leading upwards. Go up that ramp (heads northwest that leads west.) You'll pass by Brogul the Mighty rarespawn location to the left. Hug the road to the left and the road will turn south and then southwest. You'll notice you're now in the chasm where the other pictures show where you jump. The cave entrance is on your right. I don't see any 110s along this path, though I was 109.

Frostshard (another rarespawn, 110 "elite rare" versus just "rare") appears to patrol this path so watch out, he ate me as I was writing this :( Just watch out for him (I was not able to scratch him at 109, not to mention the other denizens in the chasm that helped Frostshard).

As I died here, the spirit healer is up on top of the mountain at Frosthoof Watch. It's just best to jump back into the chasm, might need to corpse hop or just patiently hunt for Frostshard and wait until he's at the top of the path, and then you can resurrect and start running down the hill and make your way out of the chasm back to Stonehoof Watch.

There is a second cave entrance at 50.53, 71.71. this entrance bypass the 110 that are in the chasm. Only 103 guarding the cave entrance.

Leave Ironhorn Enclave back up the mountian. Cross the bridge to Frosthoof Watch continue following the path until you get to 48.84,71.39. There will be a post with rope going out each side into the snow. Go east of that post and there is the cave entrance. Hopes this is easier than the jump and pray method.

FWIW, at level 110, I picked up the Q from Ironhorn, rode back towards the cliffs above the entrance and then used Rocfeather Skyhorn Kite to fly into the cave and directly to the Q mob - zero walking or jumping. Once the mob was down I used Flight Master's Whistle which took me straight back to Ironhorn and the Q hand-in.

This quest potentially offers nothing as a reward. I don't know when she started selling the recipes, but Imindril Spearsong now sells all of the 2 star Leystone recipes except for Plans: Leystone Waistguard for 33g 25s each. If you've already purchased the recipe, the quest completes with no reward of any sort. You still need to complete it to move forward in the blacksmithing quest line.

As of 7.2, if you have Legion flying, you can fly inside The Deep Roads cave, fly straight to Kabrul, kill him, and fly out. Easy peasy.

You can FLY in this cave! Soo cool, lol :) I wish they'd let is fly in every cave. It would be soo much easier.

Yes, fly, glide, or run in to cave, from the Ravine where Frostshard wanders around, facing NW.
just before the start of the 1st bridge, turn right, drop down, and your target will be right in front of you!

there is only 1 guarding the bridge but can be avoided easy... just dont go near it, jump down before.
4 outside can be avoided by flying in or go inviso.
Win.

(i am envisioning Qiu Yuen, the Land Lady from Kung Fu Hustle, using the Lions Roar technique )

Description

Our tribe regularly crafts legplates out of leystone. I will share our pattern with you... if you do me a favor.

My father fell to the drogbar several years ago, and they took his hammer as a trophy. That hammer was in my family for countless generations. Now, it languishes in the hands of the vile drogbar, Kubrul.

I would very much like to have it back.
