Don't skip the cinematic. I did, had to log out, fall to my death, run back, abandon, re-start, then watch the cinematic.

If you skip the cinematic, you have to log out, fall, run back up to the entrance of the instance, talk to Elder Sage Wind-Yi to re-enter the instance abandon and re-acquire the quest.

I didnt skip the cinematic but afterwards the serpent left me in the tree outside i had to jump down.I tried to go back but it was shut off as an instance now.I have tried re booting but nothing.

As the cinematic started, I alt-tabbed out to watch Monty Python's Flying Circus as I had seen the cinematic several times. When I alt-tabbed back, I found myself dead in the low lands just outside the temple wall. How I ended up there, I don't know. Apparently this cinematic can't handle being alt-tabbed out, I guess. I resurrected and went back into the temple at which point I couldn't find the jade dragon. I was about to try dropping the quest when I came here and read that that is exactly what I needed to do. After dropping, the temple doors were closed again and the little girl version of the serpent was back with the quest to give.

Really? After only that short of a trip? You really are getting old!

Also I couldn't help but wonder whether the Jade Serpent Statue will be destroyed after the new guardian is born and it is a recurring cycle with the builders as well as the guardians.

This quest gives you 550 The August Celestials rep (with bonus) and, if you don't have rep with them from earlier, lets you choose them as your preferred faction to get rep from the dungeons

I have made a little guide to get to this quest as i found it confusing to chase back to the start (for the horde(!)):
to get to this chain you first have to complete the following:
The Grookin village quests up until Guerrillas in our Midst where you can accept Dawn's Blossom

Then you must complete Welcome to Dawn's Blossom before you can get The Double Hozen Dare and after that All We Can Spare and all the quests from Mann until you get The Serpent's Heart when that chain is over you finally get to the temple of the jade serpent where you have to do all the quests until you get The Jade Serpent

Hope this helps, as I found it confusing to chase the quests back to the start, feel free to comment if there are any errors

Help! I got disconnected at the beginning of the cinematic for "Listen to the Jade Serpent." When I reconnected I was outside in a tree, near dead. I abandoned to run back in and reacquire/start over, but now the ! marker (Fel) is gone and the entrance to the Temple is an instance swirl. Can this be reset so I can get this quest again? I need it to continue/complete this quest chain. Thanks!

The cinematic never started for me. After I turned in "Everything In Its Place" this quest marker never appeared above Fei. So what am I to do? How buggy is this quest?

Several people have asked: "How to reach "THE JADE SERPENT" quest?"

To reach "THE JADE SERPENT" quest, you got yo do approximatively 42 quests. Unfortunately yes! I explain:

It start with these two:
Optional breadcrumb: Alliance: In Search of Wisdom / Horde: Dawn's Blossom
And: Welcome to Dawn's Blossom

Then, when you done "Welcome to Dawn's Blossom", there is 14 quests before "THE JADE SERPENT" (and 3 more if I calculate the optional quests)

But, you may ask: "Mystterious, how to reach "In Search of Wisdom" quest?"

Well,

Elder Lusshan <Waterspeaker> give you that quest.

2 quests lead up to this guy:

Q1- Carp Diem
and
Q2- Let them burn

"Let them burn" gives you a little orange fish pet in a bubble, named "Fishy".

Now, to illustrate, let's reach the quest "Let them burn", with the pet "Fishy":

I have the pet "Fishy" in my pets Journal. I did the quest "Let them burn" few weeks after MoP was realized. To reach that quest, I started at the very beginning, with the 3 or 4 quests that lead to Jade Forest. They are on a flying boat for Alliance, near Paw'Down Village. In one of these quests, they asks you to use a parachute to go down on the ground of Jade Forest, do you remember? Once there, after 20-25 quests, I went to "Let them burn" where I had my Fishy.

So, total of quests before "THE JADE SERPENT"? 39 to 45, +3 the optional quests I mentioned, if they are necessary.

It's very long even for a level 100.

Conclusion: If you want the reward item from the quest "THE JADE SERPENT", ask yourself: Does it REALLY worth a try?

I encountered a bug (mentioned in past comments) where the quest would fail but not be able to enter the right instance to retake the quest from Fei if abandoning it. This issue went away after a daily reset. Just writing this in case anyone is about to lose their mind over this for hours. Just wait for your daily reset for the bug to fix itself after you've abandoned.

Why is this cinematic unskippable? Theres nothing worse in Panda Remix then waiting an hour for lfr and getting the invite while you are stuck in this cinematic! Espacially with only one week left and you are in a hurry getting the last weapons tmogs.
